Worth a shot. Grabbed a $4 server for a test. Thanks!

    • Hi butterboy, no worries! We hope you enjoy the service.

      Regards,
      Nathan

Bought the 2cpu and 4gb ram last time, great service and I was apprehensive too. Had been using vultr and others before hand.

Now just use them and no issues.
So I can recommend them based on my experience

    • Hi Encify, that's great to hear! We're glad that you enjoy our services :)

Been using these guys for the last few months. Good speeds and great support. +VE from me!

    • Hi Bob, thank you for the continued support! We appreciate it :)

      Regards,
      Nathan

  • Done. No idea what I'll use one for yet.

  • RAM ECC?

    • +1

Hi infy, yes we do use ECC RAM on our nodes.

      Regards,
      Nathan

  • How would these go as counter strike global offensive servers?

    • It would work.

  • Bought one last night and was very excited to use a non-standard ISO. Very painless process. For this price I'll work out something to do with it, even if it's just a learning process.

  • Can someone please give examples of what to use this for? Is it used for seedbox, plex server etc?

  • The underlying hypervisor is KVM?

    • Yep, at least on their Intel servers:

      | systemd-detect-virt
      kvm

  • Couple of notes in my experience with this:

    • User-entered passwords (the root password, at least) were sent to my email when I originally signed up - likely a good idea to change your root password/control panel password ASAP.
    • Couldn't see any information on the performance profile for different server configurations - went with the 3GB plan:

(network performance is good, about 1/4 of the disk performance in the OP and CPU not quite there [edit, sorry - was comparing Geekbench 4 vs 5] - will retry later to get a different load profile for the host)

TL;DR: Looks like you might have to get lucky to get the newer H/W for this one, and as far as I can see there is no way to tell until you get provisioned. Regardless, it still looks like a solid box for the price, just assume the older Intel platform.

    • Hi, thanks for the support the feedback. In Sydney, our most common node is Intel Xeon E-2136 CPU. We do have many others including E-2234/E-2236 which are currently full at the moment. We allow customers to migrate their VPS to a node of their choice if we are able to accommodate it. At the moment we only have Ryzen stock in Melbourne, Los Angeles, London and Perth (coming soon). They are all Ryzen 9 3900X CPUs. We are able to migrate your VPS to a Ryzen node in Melbourne if you would prefer that but it will cause the IP addresses to change. Migration between the same location doesn't change the IP addresses.

If you would like your VPS moved to another node just open a support ticket and we'll be able to help :)

      Regards,
      Nathan

  • Please ignore my previous comment.

  • Do you offer WHM & Cpanel option? if yes then at what cost?
If we upgrade in future we still get 50% off on total cost then?

  • I signed up for 8GB VPS with Ubuntu 20.04. I will be testing a web server on it.

    Thank you OP.
