  Design award means basically nothing, over 50% of applicants get it, 67,000 awards in the last 60 years, basically it's a bought-award. Which isn't to take away from the design; it's pretty nice.

  the display is so tiny to make it almost useless, I own one, and good luck trying to get the lanyard through the holes …. and there is no case or sleeve so the display will scratch unless you are careful,

    A bent paperclip sorted out fishing for the lanyard in seconds.
    My only problem with the display is that it's a bit dim, but in my case, it's unlikely to get a whole lot of outdoor use anyway.
