  • Has anyone used it? Any reviews?

    • its great bought it when hn had it for $398.

  • +2

I normally use ceiling fan to achieve the result

    • +4

Try with the ultimate power next time - the sun

      • +12

Fun fact. Clouds sometimes cover the sun and they can even release water called rain.

        • +1

          Pity that doesn't happen everyday

          • @Archi: You're obviously not in SEQ.

          • @Archi: Only on weekends with 3 kids washing and 2 adults… Just before a full week of school and work…

  • sensor function sounds good …wonder if it really works well…would save electricity and that slightly annoying noise.

    • +4

I have the older version of this and it works very well. I usually run it on delicates so it cuts off even earlier. I find it does a great job and only occasionally if it's overloaded will I find it doesn't dry first time around (keeping in mind I am using delicates). Noise is standard for any dryer.

I would have opted for heat pump or condenser however neither option can be mounted.

One tip I would share is - if you are replacing a wall mounted unit, stick to the same brand as prior. Electrolux tend to use the same pattern across their brands and models (e.g. Simpson, Westinghouse) and Fisher and Paykel do too. I switched from an F&P to this, incredibly annoying to install in tiles.

    • +1

I have an older electrolux model with sensor. It works fine on clothes. Sheets can sometimes come out with a few damp spots still.

    • I bought this model after having a previous Electrolux which was fantastic. I can report that the sensor option on this model does not work properly. Towels are often left wet and need run through another cycle.
Electrolux customer service was no help - sent me a copy of the manual !!.

      Avoid

    • I've had ones with sensors in the past and they seem to work pretty well

  • +1

Google reviews look preety good from what I can see..

    • See if they have this model on Product reviews. The verified ones are trustworthy in general

  • +1

Shame there's no pick-up option coming up for me, $79 shipping

    • +1

Yeh I agree.. Only thing turning me off to be honest

  • Pickup fee $79 and David Jones doesn't want to deliver to my suburb in West Brisbane!

    • David Jones aren't the ones delivering it. They most likely have no control over areas.

  • +3

    Energy rating 2…
Honestly you are better off spending more money and getting a heat pump dryer as this thing will cost a fortune to run.

    • If you got solar just run it during the day

      • +6

If the suns out enough to produce some solar you should probably hang the clothes on the line.

And Masakari, I will be getting a heat pump when my current dryer dies but I'm not sure I'll ever make the initial investment back on power saving.

We only use the dryer when it's raining, so I can't see us saving a huge amount of energy. Of course for people who use the dryer every day it would pay itself off quickly.

        • +1

Yup that makes perfect sense for most although some people are more particular about their laundry. We live along a highway so we don't like line drying outside the house (our neighbours do so we may just be too sensitive) and line drying inside is no longer an option due to space constraints. Good deal for us though shipping makes me think twice

        • Wrong..a good solar system can generate 2 kwh around midday on a cloudy cold day. That would be more than enough to run this machine for couple of hours..Whereas you would spend couple of such days to dry clothes under the sun..Surprisingly, out of pocket cost for a good solar system is less than a heat pump dryer ..

    • I have a vented dryer that I also got significantly discounted from djs. It does the job for us. We only use the dryer a handful of times a year if we get caught out with the rain - but really appreciate having it when we do need it. For us a more expensive dryer wouldn’t be worth it, even if more efficient. It is also wall mounted and fits perfectly for our laundry set up.

  • $79 mandatory shipping kills this deal for me

  • +1

Cheaper than a Hills Hoist. Amazing!

  • 2 star

  • Will this need a venting pipe installation that could cost extra Or just leave the laundry door open when in use?

    • we have a ceiling exhaust fan in laundry vent straight into the tiled roof

      • Is the ceiling exhaust fan effective in your laundry? I'm building a townhouse that has an exhaust fan in a euro laundry rather than a venting pipe and I'm nervous about it staying humid in there and causing mold if I get a vented dryer.

        • Depends on your roofing material. Ducted ventilation is more suitable for colorbond/sheet roof with whirlybirds . For 2 storey house with laundry at ground floor, better to use a wall exhaust fan if possible.

          • @cyruslol: Ahh k. Yeah it'll be top floor - my concern stems from in my last apartment the bathroom exhaust fan near the shower was practically useless and I needed to run it for about hours and hours after a shower to vent the room, to the point where it was basically running 24x7.

I dunno how exactly the roof will be vented but there is a vent contraption shown on the plans.

    • The other option is to set it up in the garage - has been quite effective for me.

  • Good unit and a cracker price. Paid $448 (delivered) for this model from Powerland.

  • Awesome deal but delivery fee might be a turn off. Got the 7kg version for $495 delivered last winter. Works well and it’s fairly quiet. The wall mounting guys said just need to have the laundry door(s) open for air flow.

  • +2

I got The Good Guys at Taylor's Lake to price match, then did a pick up. Worth checking if you're not keen on paying delivery with DJs.

    • did they match with the DJs delivery price to 429 or to 350

      • $350

        • called 3 stores in Sydney and they wouldn't do it, said below cost

    • I just called the Good Guys phone sales line and they did a price match at $350 and I can pick up from their Melbourne warehouse which is local for me.

  • Would this dry Dog beds?

  • Got this one last year during a GG sale. Good unit!
TBH I just set it on 40 minute dry. It somehow dries everything with no moisture at all! Probably heats the hell out of everything, but unless you have some delicates and want to spend 2 hours drying your gear, just put it on 40 minute mode and done!

    • How much did you pay for this dryer last year?

      • I think it was about $400

  • Harvey Norman and Bing lee will not pricematch on livechat. Applianceonline will go down to 429 with free delivery

  • Price matched @ Good Guys, no issues..

    • thankyou I managed to get the same over the phone using the generic hotline instead of calling the actual stores

    • Can you tell me the store please.. i called my locak store as well as general sales line..Non wanted to match $350..But they agree to deliver for $429.

  • Thanks OP! Retravision wouldn’t match the price but The Good Guys in O’Connor did, no problems. They even had one in stock at the store and it fit into the boot of my Mazda 2. Yeah!

  • Our dryer died yesterday, capacitor went, pulled it apart to fix and the drum mounting bolt stripped, turns out unable to buy replacement drums and bolts for a 19 year old appliance!

Would get another vented dryer but thinking I might get a heat pump one instead, with 2 kids under 3 we go through a lot of washing and being able to chuck it straight into the dryer is a huge convience, so the power savings, combined with no steamy laundry make it difficult to pass this one!

  • I placed this order with good guys in 08/02 and received refund today without any explanation. Called store, they said they can't help. Anyone else faced this issue before?

  • Guessing no stock left. I picked up direct from their DC in Truganina and they only had 34 units remaining when I picked mine up.
