Ideal computer for primary/secondary grade, easy to use and safe for the young ones. Sounds like a good deal for families.

If you've got Amazon Prime you can get it for $241.40 delivered - https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08LMLBQYJ/
Prime is only $7, and delivery fast.
But the Duet is probably worth the extra $70. FullHD and Android support, 128GB.
Screen and keyboard is physically smaller, but no problem for small hands and young eyes.
The better resolution probably cancels out the smaller screen
Wish they'd make a larger Duet, great cheapo device
Better resolution is great, smaller screen is good if you can focus close. It is only us oldies who want a bigger screen, so we can hold it further away.
I've had nothing but trouble with a 4Gb / 32Gb cheap lenovo laptop running Windows that I bought a year or so back. Not enough memory to even update Windows now. Imagine the Android platform is key for these types of machines to work well.
No, I don't think these have Android support, in which case 32GB is plenty. (unlike Windows update)
The Duet needs the extra storage for Android and Linux subsystems and apps.Your best hope of making something useful from your windows laptop is putting a lightweight Linux distro on it, provided you don't need any windows programs.
Your other option is a clean install with an up to date windows iso via USB. You will likely need to format the drive the PC. That's how I upgraded my 32gb mini PC.
Yes, 32GB is just not quite enough for Windows. But what you could do now, is to try and see how it works as a Chromebook (or the closest free thing to it) by installing the free CloudReady https://www.neverware.com/freedownload#intro-text
Better off to get a higher spec (much higher) ex lease/business laptop for less.
Any sites to find such laptops? cheers
It is slow when playing YouTube. Ghosting and lag if you do not mind those
