[QLD] Free Tickets (up to 2 Adults & 5 Children) to The Brisbane Home Show (26-28 Feb, Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre)

190

Free tickets to the Brisbane Home Show again, with registration. You'll have to give up your name, an email address, your postcode, and a phone number (landlines allowed).

This show is for people who want to renovate, or install a new bathroom/kitchen/flooring/pool/whatever. There's a list of exhibitors, so you can get a feel of whether your needs are catered to: https://www.brisbanehomeshow.com.au/exhibitor-directory/

The show is from Friday 26 February to Sunday 28 February, open 9am - 5pm daily, at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. There's usually very little free car parking in the area, I recommend catching a train to South Brisbane railway station, or bus to the Cultural Centre bus station (just across the bridge from Brisbane Mall).

From the email they sent me:

Brisbane's Autumn Home Show is returning for 2021!

Now more than ever, our home is our haven, our safe place and our shelter. It’s where great memories are created, where families belong and where our story begins. We can’t wait to help you create the home of your dreams at Brisbane’s Autumn Home Show.

Now only 4 weeks away, you will discover great new products, the latest home trends and of course Show specials. That’s why we know you will love Brisbane's Autumn Home Show. You’ll meet over 200 amazing exhibitors with the best home renovating, building and decorating products in Australia, get free expert advice, attend free seminars and find loads of inspiration.

We are also delighted to announce a great new addition to the Show this year – Sustainability Square. Lead by “The Block” star Wombat, it’s an interactive and practical space where you can share our passion and get involved in making your home more sustainable and eco-friendly. You can find out more about Sustainability Square here: https://www.brisbanehomeshow.com.au/whats-on/sustainability-….

The email they sent me has an unsubscribe link, but I recommend you use a secondary or temporary email address anyway, just to be sure. They will send you the tickets by email, so don't use a fake email address, or you won't receive any tickets.

You can book up to two adult tickets and up to five tickets for children, all free.

  • Can I give them a local parliamentarian’s office phone number?

    • I don't think it'll do anything interesting. I've been before, and never had a call. I think it's if you chat to an exhibitor, and want them to contact you, they scan your visitor tag and get your contact details.

Also, the only emails I've received are about four emails just prior to the next show, reminding me that I haven't claimed my tickets yet.

  • Should really be free anyway. Ok if you're planning a reno and want to collect some ideas.
Otherwise it killed a work lunchtime one day (about 20 minutes) last year, a few random competitions to enter, no freebies or other reason to make a special trip.

    • There usually are some freebies/competitions. The ticket I received for the September 2019 show said:

      Win a LYSAGHT LIVING®
      Insulated Patio, valued at $8,500!
      Scan at Stand M31

      Win a property styling package,
      valued at $3,500!
      Scan at Stand E35

Win a Pacific Island cruise (for
      two), valued at $2,200!
      Scan at Stand L10a

      Win A CAR
      Scan at Stand A01

      Collect your FREE showbag
      when you visit our stand
      Scan at Stand J05

Of course, entering in these may cause you to receive phone calls and/or emails.

      • So Ozbatgain meet up at stand J05? The price is right.

        • Sounds great! You bring the time machine, I'll bring a list of all the winning lotto numbers from the last year!

          • +1

@Russ: Lol, we will be a goose with your winning numbers from 2020, hope they are good for 2019.

            • @chyawala: No need to hurry back, wouldn't you stay if you knew you had the winning numbers?

But yeah, I should have said "from the last two years".

I remember one time some dodgy solar panels company ran a competition there and they never stopped hounding me for months. Some Google searches indicated one of their reps was a shonk previously implicated in fraud matters.

Perhaps this was one of those occasions when it's good to still have a (VOIP) landline, connected only to an answering machine. Give that phone number.

      • Just have to keep in mind they might try and use that number for COVID tracing purposes and if it's not active; void the ticket or something like that. No clue if they do but sounds like something that might happen.

        • they might try and use that number for COVID tracing purposes and if it's not active; void the ticket or something like that.

implying companies don't just have their COVID-safe plans in place so that they can continue to operate without actually following/enforcing them
