Very good chip.
Though the 3300X overclock like a madman if this is the 'target' performance you're aiming for… God I love ryzen.I've been scouring the net top to bottom for a low end 1200 or 1300x for weeks for a server I'm doing.
Looking more and more like I'm going to need to buy new, and overkill, because nobody seems to be discarding old entry level Zen.
Odd.
Yeah well I looked into upgrading my 1700 Ryzen but the performance difference is negligible. Especially now that itβs a very stable overclock.
I'm just surprised nobody bought 'too low' and upgraded.
Zen+ is worth it, but, damn. I just need an cheap non G for ECC in my server.
I've got a 3100 that I'll be getting rid of once my 5600x is in stock. Happy to send it your way once it arrives (full disclosure I've been fifth block on PLE for 7 weeks..)
You can probably find a cheaper 3600 on aliexpress if you want to take the risk associated with it.
About $250 delivered aliexpress.
plus possible delivery delays
299 @Centrecom and has been for a while now.
$291.67 delivered from Amazon US too.
expensive

Just because it's the cheapest available at the moment doesn't mean it's a bargain.
If you can afford to wait Aliexpress has:
3100 = $144
3500x = $180
3600 = $225
Add GST unless you organise a way around it with the seller. Just stick to sellers with good reviews.Would much rather go with a boxed version from Centercom/AmazonUS for <$300. No warranty/quality issues. For a CPU that should easily last 6+ years, doesn't feel like a part worth rolling the dice on.
I have had no problems with Ali express Cpus but if you want more peace of mind then Amazon doesn't have the beat track record for returns either. Probably local store for that
It's more boxed vs loose. Where exactly did this seller get a bunch of heavily discounted CPUs from? Even tray hasn't really dropped down to ~$225 for a 3600. Would expect a company with connections to be able to get their hands on bulk "didn't quite meet spec" CPUs from the assemblers.
@incipient: I agree,for the sake of $40,just buy local. The saving currently are not worth purchasing from AliExpress.
So OP i.e. nvlacj has only one post, no comments and is now in the penalty box with no end date π€π€π€
Does anyone know what happened?Posting an Amazon Deal was a set up for OP to create multiple ghost account to spam their own store in the comments.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification RichardL. π. But wait, how is that different to sockpuppeting?
The price makes me sad everytime I see it
As said above, cheaper elsewhere.
