Cool. How is it a bargain?

Not to mention, Mwave are scalpers that rigged the 3080 Founders Edition card raffle and had staff sell the cards on eBay for $2.75k.

Never buying a thing, especially a GPU from them.

    • Reference cards at $949 haven't been seen for a month since PLE. PowerColor Fighter RX 6800 was at PCCG for $1,049, but that was 3 weeks ago.

Say what you want about Mwave, they are indeed shady at best; but this is the cheapest RX 6800 you're gonna get right now.

      • Bought one (6800 reference) from centre com on Monday for 950.

I saw that listing actually while looking around. The most disgraceful thing Centrecom did was list a reference 6900XT for $2,499, $800 above MSRP. When I messaged them about it they had the audacity to say they had no control over the pricing.

You do realise nearly all competitions are bugged..it's super easy to create fake invoices for top customers to get them to have a higher chance to win. Mwave just got caught out. It's shitty but it's the teuth

NVIDIA should have just run it

They didn't 'just get caught out'. Pete pretty much rubbed it into our faces and even bragged about his 'perks of the trade'.

The problem is the combination of both the bugged competition, and the sleazy bragging maggot.

I might be wrong, but I imagine that most bugged competitions just end up with the cheating turd getting 1st prize.

But what Pete/Mwave did, was go beyond that and claim all the way from 1st prize all the way down to 14th place (or maybe even more) and sold them all on eBay.

His and Mwave's layers of dirtbag wizardry is on a whole new level.

The mwave staff didn't do that. The raffle was very honest. I watch them draw the names out.

    • this is very disappointing behavior though not unexpected :(

Stuff mwave. It's not a bargain and they are shady AF.

Im going to wait for 2 more years, very happy with 5700xt atm.

Yeah f#ck it same here, lol. I have a 1080ti strix and I'm going to keep my $1.2k (6800xt) for a 7800xt in a year.

      • +2

I should have kept my 1080ti strix -.-,

        • Did you sell it and still haven't got a new GPU.

@mckayver: I sold it when it was like one month before the release of the 3070. After one or two months of horrible supply I picked up a 1650 super for $189 in anticipation that things were going to be rough.

I've now had that card for like 2-3 months now. A 1080Ti Strix to a 1650 super. I have some regrets.

Could have picked up a 3070 by now but the 8gb ram is holding me back - it looks like a rx 6800 or 6800 xt might be the way forward. Not going to pay a $200 premium though. Might hold off and see what the 6700 xt brings to the table.

Long story short - I could have just held my 1080Ti Strix until the next generation and been far better off. -.-'

            • @Budju: In September I upgraded my system with the intention of buying a ryzen 5900x and a 6800xt. I spent just over 1k on x570 aorus master mobo, 360 iao, phanteks P500A case and extra rgb lighting and stuff. I still have my 2700x and my 1080ti so no performance upgrade, so ridiculous. I think I'm just going to buy a 5800x and wait a year for 7800xt. Maybe eventually the refresh 12core if I can get a good deal then.
