I have them, mild I would say, definitely not that loud.
thanks
Its a small motor. Sounds like a remote control car :)
thanks
This type of screwdriver always appeals yet always seems to disappoint and ends up being returned. Is this really any better than the ozito / gmc versions?
I've had mine for about 12 years and use it frequently (weekly) and it hasn't skipped a beat - battery life is still fantastic too. If this has the same build quality as my 12 year old IXO I would definitely recommend this over others.
For for a $50 unit its build is suprisingly solid / modular for a "consumer" tool.
The battery is a 18650 and replacable if you open it up. The chuck is sealed metal unit. Motor is in a position thats designed to be replaced if it burns out.
Ignoring the convenience of delivery, is this worth more than double the price over the IKEA Fixa for $20?

I have the next version of this Bosch screwdriver, the IXO 6. I haven't used that $20 one from Ikea but seems super cheap, but i have used this one https://www.ikea.com/au/en/p/fixa-screwdriver-drill-li-ion-6… . The IXO is powerful, but it don't think it will be able to drill a hole through wood. You might be better off buying the expensive ikea scredriver/drill. It's bigger, it has that plastic feel, but it will get the work done. I'm still happy with my IXO 6, and when needed, i can borrow the ikea one from a friend next door.
There is a good amount of torque due to the metal chuck/gear box. Enough to twisty your wrist if if really bites into the screw.
For drilling you need to Drill adaptor (to covert torque to speed) and its good up to say 7-8mm drills into wood. (Not hardwood)
Thanks for the info. I was serioisly wondering if there was enough torque to twisty your wrist. It sounds like it might actually be useful. The usb charging is a nice convenient touch.
LOL. Argh. Was feeling peckish. Thinking about Twistys…
But in all honesty. The size and compact nature I find that its useful for most household jobs.
I have a full GDX Impact / GDS and SDS drills but I tend to use the IXO for most jobs.
@pegasusx: That is impressive. Now I can't wait for mine to arrive later today to try it out. Thanks for the info
My Ikea one died after basically one use… doesn't seem to last
Sorry for a noob question, can this serve as a motorized hand drill for tiny work (like drilling a 2mm hole on plastics)? How's the precision if possible? Tks!
tks mate!
This a 4mm drill with 1/4" hex shank that snaps right into the unit
World will be a lot better place if everyone respond the way you did! Thank you sir!
I've bought a Ozito one from Bunnings and Can charge it in my car with a car charger great for my business
I have this one from a previous deal. It's good. I do wish it had a torque setting. I know there's the addon to give you torque but it's not an economical buy. So for anything where I need that and size and weight are not an issue I'll use my drill. For anything small where I'm just screwing and unscrewing things, this Bosch unit is great.
damn its gone, OOS!
edit: Its back
Do these run at a single speed only?
Yes
How loud is it ?
