Or mathsonline.com.au for free if you don't mind the fact that it is sponsored by McDonalds.

Don't let that put you off though. It is world class program designed by a maths teacher.

    • Just also mentioning that as high school student, that website is actually quite amazing and is definitely understandable.

      • mathsonline or the one the OP has listed?

My little one is in the top couple of percentile for maths, but I am looking to boost her english skills. The other girls in her cohort are stellar, so even though mine is doing very well, I would like to crack the whip this summer. Does anyone have any ideas on online learning I can park her in front of?

        • Mathsonline, though I just checked and it's for yr 7-12 only.

edit: mathsonline for non-Australian residents is called mathsbuddy.com which does have courses for kindy-yr 6 but it does require a fee.

I find that people that read a lot/ read across a wide variety of genres are better at english - it expands their vocab and you get used to reading what makes sense. How old is your child?

  • Can't compete with EnglishPOWER, but…

Khan Academy surely does it for MUCH LESS (try to beat FREE…)
from basic Maths through Calculus, Physics, etc.

I therefore don't see this "deal" as much better than, say,
Mathletics (that can be cheaper, than the "deal" in price).

I have NO experience with the "deal" vendor or service, but
Mathletics is not high on my list.

I recommend the FREE Khan Academy (with a Coach, if you have
one; can be a parent, eg, so they can watch your progress),
    via the "Practice" mode.

All 100% Free… THAT's what we pay out ISP's to deliver us!

Cf OpenCourseWare for Maths & a lot more, video with homework
& quizes, etc. Uni courses without the pressure (or grades or
credit… but if you're serious about learning, there are LOTS
of options for you & your kids… I'd say: "Keep looking!")

    • Mathletics is mainly for practise. They don't teach much. Also, Matheletics company doesn't offer anything for english except Spellodrome (for spellings). I came accross this when I am looking for English.

Edit:Thanks for pointing me to one more resource (Khan Academy). They don't have anything for English. So, any one looking for English, this might still be a good option.
