FUEL - Save 30 Cents Per Litre @ Coles Express after Selected Beer Purchase @ Liquorland

360

Simple - Buy 2 cases of certain stubbie-sized bottles, and get 30c off per litre petrol at Coles Express.

Choose from Cascade Light, VB, Stella Artois, Carlsberg, Victoria Pale Lager, Asahi Super Dry, Corona or Matilda Bay Fat Yak.

You get a special 22c voucher which must be stamped and presented at the same time as your "standard" 8c/litre discount thingy off the bottom of the receipt.

1 voucher + receipt per fuel purchase, max 150 litres. Included LPG and Diesel. Must redeem before 1st January 2012.

I grabbed VB at $38 and Corona at $50, as they were both on special today and therefore pretty reasonably priced. The other prices brands didn't seem very cheap to me, but stil might work out OK for you.

Filling our Falcon will use about 80 litres, so that's $24 off. Of course (as JV pointed out below), the normal discount voucher is 4c/lt and until 31st Dec they are offering 8c/lt… so the additional saving is actually less than 30c. Anyway, it's certainly worth it, especially if you are buying beer anyway (just stick to the on-special stuff).

There's a bit of fine print on the voucher, so here's a pic which shows the TOS and a few excluded Liquourland/Coles branches…

It's pretty big 2592x1930 pixels, 627KB, you'll need to zoom it to read the fine print.

[NOTE - I have edited this post a couple of times to add more info]

  • team this up with your $15 liquorland voucher from the $15 case of beer fiasco and you're on a winner ;) Shame i used mine yesterday towards a case of coronas.

    • +2

It's definitely a shame you bought Corona. =)

  • -2

Seems good enough, until you realise that Corona can be had for as cheap as $30.. So you basically spent what you saved on that case alone.

    • Where are you getting Caronas for $30? I want in!

        GWS - http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/57805

This of course assumes you are lucky enough to live in Victoria. :)

        • +1

          What about other states!

        • +6

Yeah good onya - $30 is a once-off expired "tempter deal" that was available in one GWS store in Melbourne. This is something that is somewhat more widely accessible.

  • NICE

  • buy some ice for the esky too cool your beers at the coles/shell petrol stations (usually 3 for $9 - not to bad) and you can save yourself another 2c per litre!!!

  • and pretty reasonably priced.

fat yak is $39.95 at Dan's, how much is it a Liquorland ?

    • The Fat Yak was either $50 or $60. It wasn't worth it, that is all I remember.

    • Is Fat Yak really $39.95 at Dan Murphs, because i just looked at my local online and it says its $50??

  • +5

Filling our Falcon will use about 80 litres, so that's $24 off

Actually, you only save $17.60 because you would have got 8c off anyway when you purchased more than $30…

so if you can buy the two slabs cheaper elsewhere, this might not be that good a bargain…

    • Good point, JV. However we also have the 8c vs normal 4c deal running as well. Eg: this coles deal http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/58294

So, is the additional discount 22c or 26c? LOL

Anyway, I'll edit the OP to mention that the actual "saving" is a bit less than what I originally quoted.

  • Today at Innaloo WA, Fat Yak was $50 Stella was $40.

Remember that you have to present bother the 30cent voucher and your store voucher at the petrol station.

Can i use this at woolies petrol?

    • +1

      Ummmm… NO.

    • +1

Went to Woolworths moonee ponds yesterday and they had a similar deal; didn't pay it much attention as I don't drink beer but the 30c off petrol certainly caught my eye and something about 2 caskets for $40(but don't quote me on the latter).

im pretty sure this is only keeping up with woolies that had a 30c promo , you had to buy 2 cartons of Heini for $40 a carton or a few others

  • Drink and drive, and save some money.

  • Not really beer drinking weather is it?

    • +3

ALL weather is beer drinking weather :)

  • -4

Basically this is kind of advertising for drink and drive?
    Buy beer- buy fuel- drink-drive

Seeing the number of road deaths this year - shame such deals are put up by COles

  • Heneiken was $50 at coles and $40 at coles with same discount. So I thought better to go with wollies.

  • Has anyone ever filled up 2 cars with these discounts? I'm thinking of filling up both cars and some gerry cans to get 150L. A little shrewd but would they really care? Might be worth a shot, save $45 (minus the 4/8c), makes the deal decent if you were shopping for beer anyway.

    • A little shrewd but would they really care?

the voucher conditions are one voucher per vehicle, and if you read the T&C's at the petrol station, you will see you cannot use it to fill gerry cans…

      • Oh well I'm going to disregard and do it anyway. I used to always fill my gerry cans up (all 90L worth) with the 20c vouchers and they never cared infact we'd have a joke about it coz my car has a 30L tank yet I bought 120L each time. So I guess I had my answer already, be an ozbargainer and save $45, then enjoy 48 beers (not in 1 session)

What jv wrote. For the 4/8c vouchers a friend of mine used to line up both cars and fill both without returning the nozzle to the bowser in between. A true OzBargainer, I should say. Then the servo cashiers told him he only had to put both under one transaction. I'm not sure what the story is now for the 4/8c vouchers; I'll ask when I see him next. Oh well, it was amusing to me, an owner of one car.

    • There is nothing in the docket conditions which preclude the filling of jerry cans, even in the unlikely event that a servo attendant was watching and somehow knew in advance that you would be using a discount docket. I've done it on half a dozen occasions. There is however a safety regulation which states that jerry cans must be filled outside the vehicle on the ground (earthed), so do NOT under any circumstances take the nozzle to a container inside your vehicle. Now, must get some beer and 'save' $30-$45 (if I get the bowser and beer price timing correct).

      • You are "permitted" to fill one can. (ala in store T&C's) but you'd have to get a real narky attendant to police that (picking a busy time helps with their cant be bothered factor). The 150L limit is the one enforced.

  • +1

we always take both cars down and fill both up on 1 voucher

  • these big player already jack up the price well before Christmas, you'll notice when you compare with independent service station.

  • Has this expired? I just asked in store and they said it expired last Wednesday?
