3080 strix is already this price, 3090 is almost double this so yeah lol
$1400 for my strix 1080Ti, $2300 for Strix 2080Ti when they came out. I paid $1600 for a Gaming X Trio 2080Ti in 2019. Unfortunately ridiculous GPU prices have been with us for quite a while now. I really dont expect it to get any better any time soon. :/
Im either getting a 3080 Strix (or probably a 3080 Ti by the time i can find stock), so god only knows what ill end up paying thereI'm still on my 1080, I think I paid $750 and that seemed like a lot.
750 AUD is now midrange price tier. Here hoping Raja Koduri can work his magic at intel to provide competition to the current duopoly.
I just brought an immaculate with the box and all second hand MSI 1080Ti for $500.
A 3070 is around $1000 roughly but only about 20-30 percent more performance if you're lucky.
I don't have enough free time to really get into games to warrant going crazy.
@stedmaster: mate u still cant go wrong with the 1080Ti. I think its gonna go down in history as being the longest time a video card has remained relevant :)
mine is still going strong, its going to go in another system as soon as i can get my hands on a 3080
I blame APPLE for these ridiculous prices.
Companies that priced highly realised they can get away with it
Stock availability is proving Nvidia made the right business decision so expect another jump next generation too.
It ain't gonna change.
Apple pricing like this deal. Although Apple users are in a different category all on there own and can probably justify the need for this.
whatever happened to affordable 2 slot cards that can play 1440p 🤷♂️
Back in the old days, I use to think that $300-$400 GPU cards were expensive.
Prices were meant to drop over time (for example, GPS, TV) not increase…These days its not uncommon for top of the line video cards to be this price.
For example the Nvidia RTX 3090 24GB sells anywhere from $2600 - $3700 depending on the brand and configuration.
I can't believe this is now an acceptable price for a GPU.
