  • Also a good price on the K400 Plus (down to $49)

  • Bean meaning to spend some money on a keyboard for work, anyone reckon this is a good one to pick up at this price?

    • If you are looking for a keyboard for work, wouldn't you want something that has the arrow cluster bit bigger? I, for one, don't like arrow keys being small, since that's how I normally navigate through the document (along with home, end, pg up and down).

      • Turn off NumLock and you'll have an oversized arrow block.

        • It'd be too much of messing around for a lot of people, especially if you are typing things into excel (switching between numlock and what not).

          • @iridiumstem: A numpad with shared arrow block was what we used in the early 1980s. It did not hinder businesses from using Lotus 1-2-3. http://xahlee.info/kbd/ibm_pc_keyboards.html

            • @alvian: With Model Ms layout almost becoming a standard for modern keyboards, I just think it is a lot of messing around for a lot of people.

When I use to do that kind of job in uni, I just had one hand on arrow key, one hand on numpad.

Though be fair, I get easily confused by the different key layouts, so I wouldn't be too surprised if it is just me. I have a keyboard that has smaller right shift and has \ this key right next to it (with a big L shaped Enter key). You would not believe how many times I pressed \ instead of Shift key.

      • Thanks! That makes good sense, I was just too fixated on having a numpad having 6 months of working on my laptop keyboard without one hahaha

        • there are separate numpads on sale if you really want to get one, some of them are mechanical if that's your thing.

    • Logitech Keys

  • Bought this 6 months ago. While it's a good budget typing for a low travel keyboard, a few issues. 1) keyboard letter markings starting to come off. 2) mouse is pretty shit, upgraded to a Mx3 and so much better. 3) too compact, takes some getting used to if you're used to a full format keyboard (arrow keys in particular). If I could have my time again I would have saved up for a mx keyboard.

    • Update on this. Kogan did a full refund on this due to the letter markings coming off so soon.

  • I am literally using this keyboard and mouse combo just now, the low profile nature of the keyboard is mah … the low profile nature of the mouse is actively annoying. For full fairness my partner absolutely loves it and I'll acknowledge it's well built. I'd say try it first before buying, I paid $25 for mine from Target when they were clearing them and I regret the purchase.
