You cant just look at exclusives that they literally design for one type of hardware….
and it is true a 3060 would be faster, people already did benchmarking https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCvE4JGJujk
Not sherrif serious but people are literally paying $1-1.5k for xbox's and ps5's… which is the bigger joke.
I got the Gigabyte 3070 Vision 2 days ago from PLE, is still on stock if anyone wants the best looking card available
Do you regret paying that much extra just for the looks?
I think when I need to re-sell, the looks will help xD
Thoughts on whether it's worth jumping to this from a GTX 1080 for 3440x1440p gaming?
I was thinking to holdout for a 3080 but resale prices of the 1080 seem to be nicely inflated now.
This should do great with 144hz screen at 1440p. Granted, things like Microsoft flight Sim is pushing on what we can call great.
What prices are you seeing for 1080's?
I would happily flog my evga sc2 card off if the price was right off and wait it out for a 3070 or equivalent?
Looking like around the $375 to $400 mark. I paid $570 for mine over 3 years ago so i think that's a pretty good resale price.
Thanks OP I was waiting for them to get stock of the 3070 FTW3 Ultra. Just went and picked it up. $140 cheaper than my local Scorptec.
**70 card should be at ~$700 to be considered a good buy.
Paying ~$900 should give you **80 card performance
Wait for price to drop otherwise you will be regretting your purchase when normal prices return.
Worth getting this or the inno3d twin2x for $899 plus shopping?
Definitely this. Inno3d is (IMO) one of the worst looking cards I've ever seen. Plus triple fan on eVGA will mean much quieter operation and possibly slightly better performance.
Hmmm, just in appearance not performance?
I'd be open to deshrouding and attaching a couple of 120mm fans.
They're more than likely the same performance if you have enough airflow/a cold room for the X2 fan. Better peace of mind having a 3 fan as an Aussie in stinking hot Summers, just my 0.2c.
The 3 fan that Corgirun suggested below is also another better alternative!
You could grab an Inno3d Ichill X3 for $899 from Umart a few days ago which I think is a bargain.
Thanks. Puts things in perspective. I'll wait a bit, hopefully a local retailer has it in stock and a reasonable price.
Is there still the theory of the larger Vram models to be coming out?
For the 3070 I have no idea. There are 12gb 3060's coming and 20gb 3080 ti.
Im 100% sure 3080ti gonna cost around 2000aud and u gonna wait at least 3months
The laptop version of the 3080 will have more VRAM than the desktop version of the 3080 but going by this rumour I'd say it's very likely by the end of 2021 Nvidia will have replaced the current lineup of 8GB VRAM cards with 16GB.
For now, I think Nvidia will want to continue production of the 8GB VRAM cards (for as long as they can without competition) because they know they will instantly sell out of any card they produce. They are not in a hurry to release 16GB VRAM cards.
exactly this, and if AMD didnt bring out 6800 xt they would be charging $2500 for 3080 model 100%
Nvidia releases a card and already has next gen up its sleeve it seems - what they did to ppl that bought 2080 then releases super few months later for less was ridiculous but ppl will still be on "team green" and throw cash at em
Thanks guys, trying to decide if i want to buy in now or wait
Was watching this last night. Didn't know if I should pull the trigger on it.
Guess next time.
I went with the asus tuf 3070 worth the extra for a cooler quieter less plastic card.
Will this play Runescape @4k?
Looks to be back in stock
And out of stock again
I was checking all this afternoon and couldn't see it was in stock.
There was a small window it reopened and I got an order through. I don't actually need it urgently so happy to pass the order to you if you are in Sydney.
@cheapaschips: Damn must've snuck through when I wasn't watching.
Would love to take you up on the offer but I'm on the Gold Coast. :(
I'll keep refreshing and waiting for it to come back up.
Looks like mine got shipped yesterday and got a tracking from Auspost that it's coming on Friday.
Not true. Looks at Sony's exclusives. It's downright amazing what they managed to do with the PS4's modest hardware configuration.
