  • How long does it keep the historical view?

    • +1

if you link it to https://www.wunderground.com/ it keeps them forever - I think (I can drop down the YEAR selector to 1933)

      • thanks!

Also found a local user too! Can use his reading now!

        • You can also register for a free account at Ecowitt.net, which is where I feed the data from my weatherstation.

  • why do people need this?

    • +1

Keep it until you can afford to make helipad or airport

    • +1

Could be useful for local home automation, close windows when it's raining, change irrigation systems, combine with aircon control, etc. 'Free data' like this is coming harder to access and play with on the locked in internet so it's nice to have your own data sources

      • As I have one of these station (and some in house automation using Google Home) - how would one use it to integrate with the rest?

        • +1

Home Assistant works well with my ecowitt weather station. I can see whatever data I want on my home automation dashboard, plus setup any triggers and automations that I want. I don't know how you'd do it using just Google Home though.
If you enjoy playing with technology though, keep your eyes out for the next Raspberry Pi deal and give Home Assistant a try. You can also run HA on a NAS or many other always-on network devices.

  • I think the ability to add additional soil and moisture monitors is pretty cool.

    • +1

I have an additional sensor in every room.

      • thanks! my Actron AC unit has 8 zones (effectively 5 bedrooms and 2 living areas and media room.) which takes care of that part for me!

      • How many additional sensors you can add?

        • The ad says : supports to add max 8 WH31 multi-channel temp and humidity sensor / 8 WH51 soil moisture sensor / 4 WH41 PM2.5 air quality sensor

  • All gone. Was about to pull the trigger but the deal sold out! Spent too long investigating how this can be integrated into home automation system!

    • Condolences. I started frantically doing the same thing but figured prime has 30 days free return and just went for it.

    • I think the seller uses OzBargain as a cheap way to advertise. Put up a deal that lasts a few hours just to get it noticed.

I got one recently. It seems to work well, but the app is pretty basic. The web version is better.
