The reviews seem really bad. 2.5 out of 5 but they don't show you any comments. Also, it's worth noting that Mountain Designs business model is to show a high rrp and then sell for a lot less. In the UK (where most of their stores are) they basically have at least 70% off all year around. So this is likely to be the normal price because it's a terrible product.

I love the idea of a merino mask though as I own a shed load of merino products so the hunt is on for a good one! The icebreaker one gets better reviews (with the main issue being the initial smell):

Bought 2 on the weekend and they are decent. Can get kind of warm, as with most other face masks, but they are comfortable and fit well. Overall happy with them :)
Yeah I bought a few (these and the adjustable type) when we were about to go into a sudden lockdown. They do the job but I'm not sure if I could wear them for long periods on a hot day.

If it's highly breathable it means it doesn't block air and droplets going out/in which is the whole point of the mask in the first place…

C&C two adjustable ear hook masks (merino blend) the other day. Holds up well and better than non-n95 masks.
How breathable is highly breathable? I have plenty of fine merino tops, while its far tightly woven than previous woolen tops, I doubt it would filter much, if any at all.
