Orient Kamasu (Mako III) RA-AA0001B19B Automatic 200M Men's Watch $267.33 Delivered ($243.13 Rubber Strap) @ Creation Watches

210
MANONTIME

Great price on an excellent specced watch. Have been watching this piece for a while, and this price is lowest I've seen so far (goes for around $300 on Amazon right now), and is lower than the previous deal ($309.10). I personally bought one last week and it has arrived no issues. Use code MANONTIME to save 7% (code marked as expired but still working).

See discussion on previous deal

$267.33 includes GST (not listed on product page), and is applied on checkout.

Get in quick, red and green models have already sold out since I last checked, black and blue still avaliable.

The bracelet is commonly seen as the "biggest con" of this watch (it's not that bad, but could be better), and Strapcode aftermarket bracelets are commonly recommended. If you are planning to go this route, buying a rubber strap version and replacing would save some additional money ~$24. (only avaliable in blue)

Also, do not be confused with other listings on the website for "Mako III", Mako III is actually an unofficial name for the watch (at least for Western countries), and this listing is also Mako III but is a completely different watch, known as the "Kanno".

Kanno is mineral crystal rather than sapphire on the Kamasu

  • I'd like a similar look Omega for the same price :)

Good price, still on the hunt for a red one for similar money though.

Or a green one as well.

      • I don't think the red and green variants will drop to similar prices in the short term as there's more demand for them. Currently the green version is around $350 from Amazon (before cashback) if you are able to stretch your budget there.

Don't use Manontime code for this, use 'Orient' code for 10% off instead. The discount code is literally listed on the front page of Creation Watches

  • "New in Generic product box with all the watch documents(depending on shipping method chosen at checkout)"

Wouldn't one think it should come in an original box?

    • I picked the default box option and got the original metal-like box as seen in reviews and other images.

  • I can confirm that the bracelet is pretty ordinary on this watch. Not the worst in this price range, but not the best either (I rate the Citizen Nighthawk the best bracelet this side of 300 Aussie bucks).

I have replaced the clasp on mine with a milled one from cough china, and it got rid of the jingly jangly sound of it. Still not solid end links, but I think they fit ok. With that said, a bracelet rarely accompanies mine so in hindsight I would buy the rubber version and buy a strap or or two with the saved dollars.

I still think the worst thing about this watch is the crown. The size, the beveled edge, and the sub-par knurling make it a complete pain in the butt to use. I can deal (read: expect) a so-so bracelet on a AUD$250 watch but a hard to use crown is just plain annoying.

Still, it's easily one of the best value divers, in the best proportions, going around. Mine keeps ridiculous time, too, which I realise counts for nothing with a sample size of one. Probably swings off my wrist at least one week per month and is firmly in the collection and not going anywhere.
