Reasonable price for a garden shed this size, however at only 2.08m high, I doubt it would be "perfect Gentleman’s Retreat … “Man Cave”"……especially in the middle of summer……or winter….

    • +1

It's actually quite roomy. It's not a garage, but a decent sized workshop :)

  • whats the normal price on this?

    • +2

The Zinc RRP is $1,509 and the Colour RRP is $1,619 :)

As someone who is looking to buy a shed for delivery to Tasmania, any major difference in your products compared to other online stores (EasyShed etc)

    • +1

also interested to hear what the differences are compared to the ones available at bunnings which also seem to be EasyShed/Absco etc

    • +1

Hey there … we pre-punch our holes and our designs are slightly different. I would say we are also much more competitive on price. And in our view and from what we have heard from customers, Spanbilt offer excellent pre and post sale service.

    Hi OP,

Do you have any sheds for side of the house? narrow style that have door on the side. Doesn't have to be full height.

    Thanks

    Thanks bought 10

  • +3

Just a heads up - I bought a kit shed that stated it was 2m high, but DIDN'T specify that it was 2m high at the highest point of the roof.
This means the walls are only 1800mm, which is shorter than most shelves and me.

    • +3

      Height Wall/Gable:

      180cm/208cm

So this will be the same, 1800 high at the edges which is really quite short

      • +2

Yep. I'm running a leaf of fastwall bricks around to sit the shed up on, otherwise it's mostly unusable. Lots of stuffing around to save money on a kit shed.

      • This is one of our best selling sheds. The feedback from our customers is that it is a great shed. But absolutely, you definitely need to ensure the clearance is correct for your needs - I think that would be universal!

        • +2

Yes, but the advertising is "5.91m X 2.8m X 2.08m" which is misleading unless you dig deeper and discover that the top of the trestle is the 2m, not the walls.

  • $2000 get a shipping container which stronger

    • 20ft or 40ft, HC or regular height? Got to be specific when you post a bargain

      • Last one I got was 20ft regular from fakebook had to paint it. But least came with a floor so concrete slab is not needed and little harder to break into. I got two of them as part of my shed structure. So my little man cave is now 395 sqm

I'd caution anyone against buying a flat pack shed such as this one.

This particular company sends them out in a million pieces with a million screws. Many of the pre-punched holes are misaligned and will infuriate you when installing.

The steel is flimsy and easily dented in the installation process.

Go with Steel Chief if you are on the east coast.

    • We have been designing and manufacturing sheds for over 30-years. We have a great reputation for our product and our service. This is a bit of a generalisation for all bar Steel Chief, especially without any proof of purchase. It makes us sad, so many negative comments.

      • +2

Don't be sad, this is business. Moreover this is OzBargain, we're pretty ruthless about getting the best deal possible.

        "So many negative comments"
From a neutral perspective I think your doing okay in this thread to this point. Read other posts to see how negative posts can actually get.

    • Hand in your man pass.

  • Any specs on the sheet used. Brand, Source, Thickness, Grade etc.

  • We use a combination of local and imported steel. 0.25 high tensile base metal thickness. Spanbilt is a leading Australian brand, we have been designing & manufacturing garden sheds for over 30-years.

My old man has been cooking for 50 years, doesn't make him any good at it.

      • No it doesn't … but we are proud of our reputation, product offering and high level of customer service :)

  • Can anyone install these? Or you need a tradesman to do it?

    • Unless you are handy at heart, we do recommend hiring a local handyman. While we do supply the manuals and have online assembly videos - it will take a handyman much less time to put together. Having said that, we have had many customers take these on as DIY projects.

      • Any sheds with 2.3 or 2.4 high roofs? 1.3 high walls just wont cut it..

2 person job, 4 to 6 hours, if you have the correct tools.

      Check with your council …

Not sure about other council's but the one I'm in require a building permit for anything bigger than 10 sqm. Triggering a building permit (in my case) require engineering plans for the shed + inspection on the proposed depth (concrete poured in my case) of the "section beams" or whatever they are called and a final inspection had to be done.

      • ^^^This^^^ This is why I went for a 3x3 shed. Permit cost was excessive and my local council police new structures with aerial shots. Might be OK in a rural setting.

Op. I think you need to be more transparent. The below link may help. Please check for your State/council

        https://www.sheds4less.com.au/contents/en-us/d21_Shed_Permit…

        • Agree with your thoughts. Many may disagree and go ahead building on their own. In the long run, if the council plays punk and issue notice for unauthorised works, it will cost more to rectify. Even when selling the property, one may get slugged extra cost if the new owners take the seller to VCAT or whatever for illegal structures.

IMO not worth it to roll the dice. OP shed deal may sound awesome but the cost to build + get permits + site prep will cost more than the shed itself. One would ask the question; either stick with a 3x3 or go big since one is gonna have to pay for the auxiliary costs.
