Dorf Ren Rail Shower $59.50 + Shipping/Pickup @ Bunnings

660

Saw this when looking at the Methven showers in store after they sold out online. Looks like the black and chrome showers are sold out online, they might still be in store. All plastic except for the brass connector to the water pipe and the chrome shower rail. Not sure what the original price was. Unlike clearance lines - powerpass will take almost 5% off these items if you're a business customer.

  • WELS 3 star rated, 9L/min
  • European flexible SoftPEX hoses which provide superior durability, longer life and are free from impurities
  • Industry-leading 20-year Dorf warranty for added peace of mind

Chrome tapwear to match:
Basin Mixer - $39.50
Tower Basin Mixer - $49.50
Shower Mixer - $27.50

Black and copper tapware:

    Thanks Twocupteabag. Bought one.
Seems like a great price for this.

    • Hey guys…

Any info in relation to the recall?

  • Dorf Ren Rail Shower is out of stock already

    • Available in WA still at a decent amount of locations.

I just clicked on the link and it directed me to https://www.bunnings.com.au/our-range . Did a search and it came up with 0 results

Still showing for me, did you need someone to search a nearby postcode for you?

It seems they are definitely selling some stuff off for some really random prices, another product I have come across worth about $250 for $30 but stock is low probably.

Is plastic really a dealbreaker? Have read a few reviews on plastic shower heads that say avoid.

    • I dont mind it. Time will tell…

With plastic, you just have to be sure not to try to turn on hot first before mixing the cold water. The heat will wear it down much quicker.

      • My 15 year old plastic shower head always has hot water first and is still going strong.

Hot water is limited to 50 degrees in bathrooms which is to cold to damage the plastic.

The heat will not do anything except make the plastic hot, it will not damage it.

So turn on the hot water first and let it get hot before turning on the cold tap, you save water that way. Which saves money and is your ozbargain tip of the day.

        • While I agree, it isn’t always the best. My grandfather turned on the hot water and promptly fell in the shower. Ended up badly burnt as it took a while for my uncle to find him. Pre temp limits in HWS of course.

        • Not every household has the temp limiter. There are a lot of dodgy plumbers out there installing hot water systems and not putting them in and a lot of homeowners not realising this. It's much better practice to turn on cold before hot - it's what we teach kids as well.

  • I've been trying to get more info on the shower head which is not as simple as it seems on Google.
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Dorf-REN-MULTI-FUNCTION-RAIL-SHO…
This listing says there's only two modes … that's a pretty limited multifunction if it's only got the two types of spray (3 if you include the combo)

3 modes. A focused middle section, a wider outer ring and a combo of the 2. I use the wider outer ring.

  • Looks like dorf ren sink mixer is all gone

Still a few left in Fyshwick ACT for anyone who wants one. The entire Ren range has been marked down since early December.

    Good post OP

  • Is this a reputable brand?

    • Quality wise I would rate it below Grohe, Methven, and Caroma.

      • I’ve always rated them on par with Caroma especially seeing as they’re the same company. Haven’t really noticed any quality difference between the few products I have between the two personally.

      • I've noticed Euro brands like Grohe, Hansa are much better build material quality than Dorf/Methven/Caroma. Its no comparison

        • I never used Hansa but Grohe is around 10x more expensive than this special pricing. On full price, this is still 1/2 price

  • Thanks for sharing

  • I've got an old shower which has two separate taps for Hold/Cold and one fixed shower head at about 2m height. Anyone know if i can easily retrofit this? I really like to have a hand shower.

  • Thanks OP, been waiting ages for a deal on a "Tower Basin Mixer". Bought two and just installed them. Twenty year warranty and the Plumbing attendant said they were over $200 previously.

    • Did you get them installed by a licenced plumber? I think that's what the warranty cards all say?

      • If you keep purchase receipt, I think they're not on strong ground to try to enforce requirement of also producing a receipt from a plumber. Also I'd expect that any warranty claim would be accessible by taking it back to Bunnings - as an authorised seller.

[Added by edit:] Actually no T&C's in Bunnings webpage description of these items where it just states "Industry-leading 20-year Dorf warranty for added peace of mind", so Dorf's 20yr warranty becomes a 20yr refund warranty from Bunnings if you keep copy of webpage with the purchase receipt! And in either case I'd expect the mixer cartridge to be excluded - which is the part that will wear out…
        .

  • Thank you OP!

Thanks OP. I found 2 black shower rails and the matching basin and shower mixers all at my local Bunnings for a bargain price. Perfect as we are about to reno the bathrooms!

  • I went to pickup my order (submitted 4 jan) today 16 jan.

The lady at the counter could not process the pickup. She said that it has been recalled.

Any ideas why it has been recalled?
