      Brace yourselves!

  • What is the difference from the normal blue or green or white mask selling like $10 for box of 50?

  • Mandatory mask in NSW from Monday!

  • Colour

The Covid 19 virus is colour-blind anyway.

  • The website "thefriendlymaskcompany.com.au" is registered under MYKL Pty Ltd and was registered on 12 August 2020. Martin McGraw, you are a bit "late" to the party.

The pictures to the website does not provide any indication who is the actually manufacturer of the product(s).

      Hi,

Not really certain what point you are trying to make about our company name or when it was registered. As for the manufacturer, we are quite clear on that point. Our sunlight range of masks are manufactured by a company called Sunlight Eco-Tech. That information is freely available on our website and are detailed in the testing reports that we have supplied from intertek. You can also check out their facebook page here.

      Have a Happy New Year.

The manufacturer, Sunlight Eco-Tech, is not listed in the FDA's Appendix A: Authorized Imported, Non-NIOSH Approved Respirators Manufactured in China (Updated with Administrative Changes or Respirator Model Removals: October 15, 2020.)

Not really certain what point you are trying to make about our company name or when it was registered.

There are certain countries in Asia that specialized in "shonky" (aka not-fit-for-purpose) product but there are also some people who are taking advantage of this pandemic to try to make a quick "buck" or two by selling products that are not fit for purpose.

The "TGA Registered" claim does not hold any weight. It only tells me, as a potential buyer, that you, the "seller", have "register" the said item with the TGA. The "TGA Registered" claim does not provide any guarantee whatsoever the product has been adequately tested independently and verified to be correct.

As for me, if the manufacturer and the exact model number of the PPE is NOT listed in the FDA's Appendix A: Authorized Imported, Non-NIOSH Approved Respirators Manufactured in China (Updated with Administrative Changes or Respirator Model Removals: October 15, 2020) then I do not consider the item to be "legit".

    Everyone's a mask expert now…

In the past I was very critical on mask claims. Now it seems everyone jumps on.

FWIW, I use "medical grade" masks all the time, as I work in operating theatres. There most definitely is a difference between the random masks you buy, and "medical grade" masks that are used in OTs. Actual surgical masks have an ASTM level, which denotes the fluid resistance, which is kinda important in the surgical scene.

This website gives a good explanation. Also Halyard make some good masks that I often use (teddy bear mask ftw):
    https://www.halyardhealth.com/industry-news/2019/july/choosi…

Does fluid resistance matter for COVID? I do not know
Is the quality of this mask better than a random? I do not know since I have used some pretty bad quality masks that are ASTM rated

Note that this mask is not a N95/KN95/P2/whatever, so it is NOT listed in the FDA's list of authorised respirators, just like any non N95/KN92/P2/whatever
