    Spam + cheaper elsewhere.

    From the latest MSY price list (MSY but readable):

    • Case: 2716B Black and Silver Midi ATX with Dual Fans = $49 (for an equivalent generic case with PSU)
    • Motherboard: Gigabyte G31M-S2L 775 = $59
    • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4Ghz = $212
    • Hard Disk: Western Digital 500GB HDD 16Mb CACHE SATA2 7200RPM = $83
    • Memory (RAM): 4GB DDR2 (2x2gb) 800mhz = $85
    • CD/DVD Player/Recorder: 20x (speed) LG SATA +/- CD/DVDRW = $27
    • Video Card: ASUS 8500GT 512MB PCIX VGA/DVI/TVOUT = $63
    • MSY (parts) total = $578

    Other problems:

    • No mention of included operating system - other than that Windows Vista is not included.
    • GeForce 8500GT is a poor, low-end choice (comparable to 7600GT), especially considering the 8600GT (comparable to 7900GS) is about the same price (ECS, Leadtek & MSI 8600GT are also $63 at MSY).
    • Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L microATX motherboard with integrated graphics is a very poor choice for a system with a discrete graphics card in a full-size ATX case.
    • "For online users, the Asus motherboard will allow optimal connectivity through the Integrated High Definition Audio system and generous 6 port USB" - the system does not have an ASUS motherboard.

      Quite correct. However, up to $203 (to remain ahead of this "deal"; $781-$578=$203) for assembly and delivery is far more than sufficient.

    Strangely they stopped there online auctions within 2 days of the above being uncovered.
