  • Anyone have any thoughts on this combo vs the combo with the newer models - the 996 hammer and the 887 impact ($658)?

Would this combo here be fine for a weekend warrior?

Sydney tools has the 887P1 kit for $229.

I am a weekend warrior as well and when my green Bosch left for the heavens up in smoke ..I bought the Ozito brushless deal for 99 .It doesnt spin as fast the Bosch used to but seems to have enough torque..My Bosch green impact is still there. I used to own a Dewalt combo before it was stolen from my garage. I have never owned the Bosch blue range. But in my opinion if anyone uses the drill/driver combo once a month like I do then Ozito is the best value …Can it match the quality ..not even close..can it do the job.. yeah ..for how long.. your guess is as good as mine :-D

i own makita and ozito brushless, also just a weened renovator and i must say the ozito brushless are great value, even the impact driver can shear or strip screws so how much more torque do you need ?
just wish they did a brushless reciprocal saw in ozito and brushless circular.

How does this compare to the blue Bosch combo going atm?

    • This is a heaps better deal than the blue Bosch.

I know heaps of chippies and they swear by using DeWalt even over Milwaukee.

Milwaukee is owned by Techtronic industries who owns Hoover, Ryobi and Homelite.

      • Ain't nothing wrong with Bosch Blue tbh. Have spoken to two staff at Total Tools who tell me they're always low on stock, because they've picked up massively in popularity in the past year.
FWIW, the absolute majority of my power tools are DeWalt…. Thicknesser, Angle Grinder, Blowers, Circ Saw, Drills, Air Inflator, Dust Extractor, Planer, Multi-tool, LED Lights, and my router… all DeWalt. I have a few Makita tools, some Ryobi and one or two Ozitos.
I only have one Bosch Blue tool, and it's my sliding compound mitre. Not brushless, sadly, but it's a beast and quite accurate.
I would put Bosch Blue on the same plane as DeWalt and Milwaukee… slightly above Makita who have dropped a little bit in the past 5 years IMO.
