Was bored and browsed the internet for cheap LCD deals. And came upon this deal for the Sony KDL40CX520 40" Full HD tv for $548. And yes, the TV is 50Hz and is the same TV as advertised from Dick smith. Since it is the good guys you can also haggle the price down too when you pay cash.

It seems like a very reasonable price for a Full HD and name-brand TV.

    Not a bad find. If it was 100hz I would probably buy it.
    Good for the granparents still with those ancient death trap of a crt tv, or a spare tv for the kids to play their games.

    There's a previous post from dick smith which worked out to about $490 when combined with paypal and a Christmas voucher.

    I was interested so I went to bing lee and managed to grab a couple for $470 each. There was a guy in the previous post who managed to get them down to $450 with the online haggle.

    Apparently that TV only supports 50hz - otherwise a great TV bargain.

    I had a look at one of these the other day in JB, it was reasonable but yeah 50Hz and it shows. Probably not a bad TV if you watch mostly movies/general shows, but for decent sport/gaming I'd definitely want something better.

    Yeah unfortunately 50hz is a dealbreaker for me. for $450 I would have got one otherwise

    I've been using my 32" EX model from the BigW PS3 bundle as a computer monitor and I think that is also 50hz. For movies/games/general TV it's excellent for the price.
