Was watching this TV before Boxing Day started good price drop I reckon. Heard JVC is not what it used to be but price seems decent.

Fairly sure it is. Bought a 55” JVC last year and got a 65” EKO this year. Everything is exact same, down to the remote design (that now has google microphone) and the stand…
How's the picture and the sound?
Picture is great on the QLED. Sound is meh, but actually better than what you expect for the price but getting too nice of a soundbar defeats the purpose of an elcheapo TV. The sound on my Kogan, on the other hand is as awful as halfassed monitor speakers
this is what i read too sadly. Only for certain items though.
Ive had one of these but the 50" for 2yrs. Cant fault it, but id recommend a sound bar.
Yeah this would just be a rebranded low end tv.
its good value I guess for 55" Android TV…catalogue price is $549.
I purchased a very similar JVC android TV from big w a couple months ago. Was advertised as Android TV but had no play store…
This or the EKO 65" for $649?
I have Eko and I recommend it.
Qled?

This would a great TV if you're using it with Apple TV
I have Apple TV, and I must admit I find it worse than using the smart tv features in built on my tv. From my experience Apple TV is the worse actually. I bought Apple TV since I figured it would be best supported but have been disappointed by it. If I knew what I know now I would just stick with the inbuilt smart tv functions and save hundreds of dollars.
This or the Eko 55 4K qled
Eko is $100 more and limited stock, seems to be on par from what I've mostly read
Looks like this model doesn’t support HDR
HDR at this price range wouldn't be a very good HDR experience anyway
Bought it for pick up before the boxing day 'sale' price hike up to $549.
Will see how it goes
Looking forward to your review
How much did you get it for?
It's so 499 online but the boxing day catalogue is 549
Ah yes I know but I thought you meant they jacked it up like a couple of days before Boxing Day so the discount looks better.
PS: I bought one too and hopefully can pick up in the next few days
I bought 2 of these $499 each. Will be collecting today. I will let you know how it is. I think it’s great value for money.
Let us know before it's all sold :)
Could you please post photos of the remote and the TV guide? I have a suspicion it's the exact same hardware as the EKO branded ones
dont think they're the same, the JVC one doesn't have HDR?
Jvc doesn’t have HDR
Review:
So far so good
Need some true 4K content to really test it outInterface is snappy and faster than my TCL android tv so that’s good
Set the picture to movie mode, live colour off which now looks quite good
The staff told me to keep it upright when transporting it home but I had it lie flat in the car, screen up and it was fine. I think this is probably for logistics, so they don’t stack them on top of each other.
Better than the Eko qled?
I don’t have the Eko to compare with and haven’t tried
Would you mind taking some photos of the remote and the TV guide?
See watermelons links below as they are correct
I mean, is there any built-in program guide on this TV? There don't seem to be any GUIDE button on the remote.
@F1ProjectOne: Yeah its part of the on-screen number keyboard
Ok thank you, very intriguing remote.
It's quite good since no unnecessary number buttons for FTA, but there is a button that gives you these keys on screen
How is the built in speaker?
@Nathw: Terrible like most other tvs,
I have a 5.1 setup connected to it
If not, I would get a soundboard at least
A different remote is shown in the user manual.
Remote is the one watermelon linked
Bought one, $499 shipped on eBay with 5% gift card and TAKE10OFF code
Good if you can't pick it up
It’s a great tv. The user interface is so quick. I just love the google assistant voice feature. I can just speak into the control to open the video in YouTube and Netflix and it’s so quick. Kids love it. Has google play store. The bezels are so thin too. It can mirror from android phone, iPhone and Apple MacBooks
My last tv is 2014 40 Inch Samsung which I moved to our gym room now so I needed a new tv.
What about the picture quality?
I’m no expert on these things but picture quality seems great to me.
Pretty good to me, accurate colours and good dynamic range
Looking at the pictures, I do not find the wall mounting holes. Dumb question, can this TV be put on a wall mount..
Yeah VESA 200x200
See guide links above that shows a pdf for wall mounting
Cheers mate. Appreciate that.
Would like to know too…
I have mine mounted. Was easy to mount
Picked one up today for my bedroom will set it up in a couple of days. It's replacing an AWFUL 8+ year old TCL full hd lcd tv 🤢
anyone looked at TVs in this price range and compared new vs used options? in that boat currently
Regularly browse FB marketplace and with second hand tvs around $300, it’s definitely a better buy going for a new JVC/EKO tv.
I did pick up an older 46” tv but that was only $20 to be used with a Google TV/Chromecast
cheers. how do you think it compares to https://www.aldi.com.au/en/special-buys/special-buys-sat-26-… ?
I'd go for this or the Eko as they use Android TV interface
@impoze: cheers
I just made a really quick YouTube video to show you the tv and the features. Not a great video but I tried my best in the short time I had today.
Did you connect over wifi? I couldn’t get it to see my 5Ghz network, only the 2.4 one.
Yes. Also didn’t see my 5Ghz network.
Amazing video, very informative
Thanks Nathw! :)
Anyone got Woolworths staff discount card I can use? Lol
appears to be sold out now. missed out :(
My local store had two on display and a pallet out the back. The website said they had zero stock. Best to go in or give your local store a call.
Ah awesome. Did that store show as none in stock online?
Thanks OP, bought one. 32km click and collect though.
Looks like you cant go wrong for price, bought as a secondary TV which will likely be downgraded to third TV at some point.
One issue.
I plugged in my ps4 pro and 4k is not supported! Seems odd as I'm able to watch 4k through youtube 🤔🤔 any ideas?
Check the hdmi setting, cab be set to 1.4 or 2.0
Legend! was set to 1.4 by default. Will give it another go soon and update.
Does this have plex or can you add plex?
Its available in the play store just saw it
Hi, how is the TV performing for those that purchased? Looks like there is 1 available at a local store :)
happy with mine, running it for about 2 weeks now.
Android TV is snappy and accurate colours
Been using for a week. It’s great
Hi - does this JVC have the disney? Thanks (for my star wars fan husband!)
install it via play store
Thanks!
Mine has just been delivered (eBay order) an hour ago with a broken screen… I think the damage was caused by Toll during the transition…
Oh that sucks. They must of layed it flat. It says on the box not to
Looks like some big w have new stock. Few stores near me now have stock. Few days ago no stores had stock in Sydney.
No longer sale price?
For anyone interested I just picked one of these up. Website said no stock in store, I walked it to North Lakes and there was two available. $550, then I got my 10% staff discount.
Played around with the colour setting a little bit and it look pretty decent. Not as good as my friends $1500 Sony, but pretty damn good for $500.
And thanks to my CC I get 2 years warranty. Yay.
Correct me if I’m wrong, the JVC nowadays are just using a rebranded low end TV. Some say it’s about the same as the Eko branded TVs
