  • Seems crazy cheap. Ordered now out of stock. See if it will be fulfilled. Thanks for posting.

    • Yep, sold out. Let us know if it goes through, great really at this price and with JBHiFi warranty, I wouldn't worry about issues.

      • Not just sold out, they deleted or removed the whole product from public view.

      • Received the Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with Retina display 128GB 2019. It has a screen protector applied and had some very minor signs of usage. 26 battery cycles. Was able to get Apple to update the warranty to start from 25/12/20.

        • wow congrats!

going to say a bit (very) jealous!

Crazy cheap for a 2 nearly year old refurbished basic laptop? Oh my, ozbargainers have lost it.

  • -1

any desktop that is a good deal?

  • Looks like the under 1k ones were incorrect prices. There are new listings at around s 1019-1099

Why the (profanity) is page not found.

    • +1

I will hazard a guess, but maybe they sold out.

Thanks OP. I got the 12inch 256GB one.

That model has a terrible keyboard which was never fixed; it overheats like crazy; also has a short screen cable that fails under normal usage; I wouldn’t get that model

      • +1

I know many people who have the 12 inch Macbook, and they haven't had any of those issues after 2 years of usage… It shouldn't be a problem, and they'll have apple warranty to back them up anyway

I've got the gen 1 base 12 inch MacBook and honestly it's fine. Keyboard is about as good/bad as any lenovo with regards to crumbs getting under the keys. But the M1 MacBook is off the chain in performance and cooling, and it has the big trackpad, and the new keyboard.

        • A defect is a defect; it’s about when it will happen, not will it happen. Many people might not notice it; for example, the iPhone 6 series had bend gate issues that their board flexes over time and breaks eventually. Sure, some people may not notice and might have acquired a new phone way before that, but it is still a design flaw that ruins longevity.

The 12” MacBook is a turd.
Granted I own one…. it’s only good for SSH work, it’s safari is slower then an iPad Pro.

    • +3

      ☝️ yes! I concur.

    • I thought so to and still think so, about the base gen 1, but it's still like usable and nice to use. It's just slow, but better experience than most windows trashtops out there.

    Cheaper than the Headphone

As an Apple fan even I find the AirPods max a bit silly.
Most likely Apple will eventually find a way to slim it’s cost down to $649 and call it AirPods max SE

I would suggest just pay a bit more to get the m1chip MacBook…

Considering future proof and much longer battery life.

    • Agree it’s so much better but it’s Almost $1000 more…

      • +1

I got what you saying. If you still can get sub $800 mac air, then yes to get the older version mac air.

However airs are sold out. The left stocks are over 1k. For any MacBook that over 1k, i would say m1 is the better option

      • What?

        JB-HIF

    • So pay nearly double? Ok then

      • Still a better "deal"

      • I think its still a better deal in the long term.

If you've got a Suncorp bank account, you can easily get the Macbook Air M1 for under $1400. Yes its almost double the price but you get:
        - Better battery life
        - Better screen
        - Unified RAM that seems to handle higher RAM requirements with more grace by virtue of being faster
        - Far better CPU and graphical performance
        - Double the storage space when compared to the thread creator's Macbook Air
        - Far less heat
        - No moving parts (Intel Macbook Airs still have fans that do shit all)
        - No throttling in typical workloads to the point light "pro" workloads are actually possible
        - Not awful keyboard
        - Just general faster usability (compare wake from sleep performance of Intel and M1, very obvious)

Just from a longevity standpoint, I think it'll age a whole lot better than any of the Intel Macbook Airs which already suffer from awful thermals and power/heat limitations that choke performance substantially. I don't really buy into the whole future proofing idea but the M1 Macbook Airs are just substantially better in every single way.

        • Have Suncorp rewards. Cant see discounts on MacBooks. Can you expand on how you got the m1 air below 1400?

          • @lowey71: Base model $1599 then JB 10% off then JB gift cards 5% off? $1367 all up.

    • Will it play ozbargain in 4k

  • +1

Still lots of refurbished MacBooks listed on site at significantly higher prices. Don’t think they’ll honour any of the prices as listed here but if they do, enjoy your Xmas present!
