I had been waiting to pick this up as a pressie for my mother from the Big W boxing day sale for $369. It is replacing her aging J series Sammy.
This new price was kicked off by HN today after lunch and then followed quickly by the others. Bing Lee and TGG have not dropped the price on their website - it is still at $499.
Details may be found here (it is the 4/128 spec) - https://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_a31-10149.php

and here - https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-a31/review who stated "The Galaxy A31 has a number of attractive features in its spec sheet: A 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display, an in-display fingerprint sensor, 128GB of storage as standard in many countries, four rear cameras, and a 5,000 mAh battery. What’s not so attractive is the processor powering the phone. The A31, along with the Galaxy A41, uses the MediaTek Helio P65 chipset, which isn’t great for gaming. Still, there’s plenty to like in the Galaxy A31… "
Pros
Slim, attractive design
Expectedly excellent Super AMOLED display
Fantastic battery life
Android 10 and One UI 2.1 out of the box
Versatile camera setup
Optical in-display fingerprint sensor works well
NFC-based Samsung Pay
Cons
Poor gaming performance
Cameras only take perfunctory pictures
Camera lacks shooting modes like Night and slow-motion
Cheap earphones in the box, speaker not very loud
I hope this helps someone. :-) Merry Christmas.
Thanks for the post. Note that there are multiple versions of this phone with the same model number - the difference is single- or dual-sim and 4GB / 6GB / 8GB RAM.
OW and HN both state the dual-SIM 4GB model. JB looks like single-SIM 4GB.
As far as I can tell, the 6GB and 8GB RAM models are international versions and do not support all 4G bands.
