Surprisingly decent wireless headphones. Got 'em the last time they were on sale, for Black Friday.

    • These should be a new revised BH 085, that just came out in Oct / 2020.

      Op can you confirm this?

P.S. Does anyone actually own BH 055s? And even better compare to these in terms of sound quality and NC (I know these don't have hybrid NC like the 55s.

Thinking of importing a pair of 55s from the states, the only way to get them.

      • +1

Yeah I have the BH 085. Don't have others to compare it to. Doesn't compare to my wired headsets of course, but I got it for my walks/runs so it does the job.

NC is..eh. Makes it sound slightly distant and with pumped up bass out of nowhere. Also doesn't do much actual canceling of noise.

  • Anyone know how these go for watching movies? Starting to think it might be the way to go with a sleepy wife and kids …… Thinking I'd either connect to a new Chromecast or straight to the tv (don't imagine my tv would have the latest Bluetooth version/codecs though

    • +1

Something like this should allow use with any TV , https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B01EHSX28M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_f…

      • Cool but a little pricey maybe? Thanks!

        • I got an aptx TX/Rx Bluetooth dongle from eBay for $9. As long as your tv has an audio aux port… powered via usb port (or use a powerbank if the USB port is.miles away from the aux).

            • @JuryWheel: Sorry bud, was in 2017. Not sure now. Tx/Rx (transmit/ receive) with aptx should get you in the ball park. As someone said below, pay more for aptx. Actually, I recon I got mine from eBay.com or .co.uk. None decently priced on .com.au

But you could use the current eBay 10off promocode. (But no PayPal free returns).

          • +2

@tunzafun001: Bought I no name one on eBay in past. Takes forever to link up with USB. Hissing sound whilst in use. Paid for taotronic, all above issues gone

        • That's not pricey, think of all the shows and movies you can watch when the family's asleep! Best to get a good one, the cheap ones lags too much

    • I've got BH22 's and have these paired to the new chromecast and works great for watching content

  • Got these the last deal, very happy with them.

  • Anyone have any experience with the BH079?

    • +2

Yes very happy with them for price, great battery life, decent sound, stay in ears when running, and always correctly disconnect when case closes.

      • Same here. Bloody awesome for the price.

    • very reliable for instant connect to phone,
      Good microphone for phone call
      tiny case
      premium look design

    • -1

      Volume is too low.

  • TT-BH085:

    Audio sample/bit rate:48000/44100
    Bit depth:16bit
    frequency range:20Hz~20KHz
    SNR:≥90db

  • Bought a pair of TaoTronics TT-BH060 (for $67.49 lol) this time last year and they're still in great condition after a year of 30+ hours per week usage. Tempted to buy a pair of these considering they're 50g lighter.

    • Less weight is likely less bass?

      • ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • +1

    Hmmm tempting

  • Which one is better suited for calling in noisy environment? BH085 or BH090

  • +1

BH085: Great headphones they do the job for the price. I got a pair in May.
But had an issue with the power button in August (about 3 months later).
Returned it and got a brand new pair. Last week, I had the same issue with the power button (about 4 months later).

Now I have moved to the BH090 in hopes that the power button will actually survive this time.
Maybe I have extreme 6 pack abs on my thumbs who knows.

  • Are these good for gaming on TV? Just purchased a pair, mainly for playing movies and games on my bedroom TV without disturbing others in the house.

And do the earbuds get tight after a few hours? My ears are fairly big.

    • You don't want audio lag while gaming.

      • So do these lag…?

        • Yes, I observed sometimes watching videos on YouTube.

  • Good timing on the sale. Just had my old pair of headphones give up the ghost with snapped/cracked plastic above the earpieces that no amount of electrical tape would hold together.

  • How does this compare to sony x4000 for noise cancelling?

    • I have the bh-085 which is the version before this. Not sure if they improved in terms of ANC for the bh-090.

In terms of bh-085, the ANC is definitely not as good compared to Sony Whx-1000xm3/4. In fact imho this doesn’t cancel noise efficiently at all (only white noise, I can still hear voices and loud sounds with ANC on).

If ANC is very important to you, I do not reckon this pair of headphones.

Otherwise, it’s an amazing headphones in terms of sound, battery life, portability (u can fold them), latency etc., especially for the price.

      • Thanks for that, saved me money :)

        • I have a pair of the Sony WH-1000XM3 and honestly when I'm flying describe the noise cancellation feature as pure witchcraft, voices and loud noises however is not what ANC it is designed to cancel and ANC is not what you want in this situation.

  • I have had my BH085 for over six months now and I am incredibly happy with the sound, battery life, quality and durability so far.

The active noise cancelling is perhaps not as good as the competition at several times the price…but it does the job well for me.

  • Highly recommend.

  • TaoTronics TT-BH079 TWS True-Wireless Earbuds or SOUNDPEATS TrueAir2

    • +1

I was thinking the same LOL

I have the older version of soundpeats, its been almost 2 years, and its still kicking and alive.

    • I just went through 4 different pairs of SoundPeats, kept returning to Amazon due defects, they offered me 40% off each time in exchange for positive reviews.

Go with Taotronics, even with the 40% discount it wasn't worth it if it won't even charge.

      • I had the opposite experience. Call quality was hopeless and constant drop outs with the Tt079s. Trueair 2s were on sale the next day, so I gave them a try and love them.
That said, TT generally have good stuff and a great return/warranty policy, so I'm waiting on the 094s to drop back below $60 and I'll get a pair of those too.

        • The first SoundPeats I had was perfect and I only sent it back because it broke while cleaning it. Other than the defects they would have been perfect quality for the money.

Getting it from Amazon meant I got full refunds each time, if you end up with one that isn't faulty than they really are excellent.

    • I’ll hook you up with someone from soundpeats to get a free pair. DM me

  • Is the headphone comfortable with glasses?

    • +1

Yes, very. I wear glasses and there's no ear pressure

  • Which one has better sound quality and ANC? TT-BH090 or TT-BH085?

    • For sound quality and ANC, the 90s beat the 85s. See here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLVlxxwI2XM

However the 85 has better microphone quality with CVC 8.0 vs CVC 6.0 for the 90s.

      • Except the 90s don't have AptX

        • does that affect connection majorly?

          • @Yoopy: Means that any movie you watch using Bluetooth will have audio lag. Can't stand that myself. If the 90s have aux chord, then I guess you can use that. But kinda defeats the purpose of wireless headphones.

  • Does anyone recommend some BT Transmitter ?because my computer has no Bluetooth installed

    • There's plenty of cheap ones on eBay or AliX. However, if you want to watch video, then lag matters and you should choose at least APTX or even better something with BT low latency. Taotronics make some decent ones, but wait for a sale if you can.

    • pair it with taotronics transmitter. I have the tt-bh085 paired with tt-ba09. The ba09 is hooked to my pc via spdif and supports aux as well.

Aptx Low latency support on both devices have no noticeable audio lag compared to standard Bluetooth sbc codec with standard Bluetooth headset which have 100+ms lag.

  • +1

Op - Can we get a deal on these?

    https://www.amazon.com.au/Foldable-Headphones-TaoTronics-Blu…

    Come on…it's Xmas!

  • I bought the Tao 79's two weeks ago - I paid $70 after reading lots of positive reviews - the main reason I bought them is because my first generation Apple AirPods kept running out of battery after an hour or so. I can tell you that I was dissapointed - I expected them to be at least as good as 1st generation Apple AirPods which are 3-4 year old technology but they were not even close. I gave them to my mum to use for phone conversations for which they are okay - for music and youtube they sounded tinny - I changed back to my old AirPods and the difference to me was night and day. If you are expecting Apple quality sound you will be disappointed I think - I was.

    • You get what you pay for. You can't compare it with Apple products regardless of the generation. The positive reviews are because it's value for money.

  • Is anyone using the BH-079 for fitness / running? I'd like to know if they sit well in the ear.

Currently using a cheap but light pair of Soundpeats after bad experience with Bose Wireless (if the Headset is too heavy it falls out of my ear when running).

    • I run with them - they don't fall out - can just be a little challenging to use the touch controls when in motion.

      • Do you connect to phone or a fitness watch? I'm in need of some new buds after losing my jaybirds 😔

    • Totally depends on your ear size. I use it sitting and some aggressive movement makes it fall out of my ear sometimes. Also it hurts my ear after using for a long period. Again it's about my ear size.

  • I bought BH-079 around 6-8 months ago. They are OK but not great. One main issue with them is that the thin film at the end of the ear piece where you attach the buds, comes off /broken very easily. They are fabric or thin plastic. Once they are not there, ear wax goes in to the actual earphone diaphragm and very difficult to clean it.

  • I have used these. My experience:
    Pros
    Long battery life.
    Touch playback controls.

    Cons
    Audio lag (when watching videos)
    Volume too low
    Connection issues (sometimes)

  • Got my bh085 last night, I can confirm the

Sound quality is 3.5(no much bass, clear enough for gaming and TV)
    Comfortable is 5
    Value of money 5

Very nice, and l will buy more for my family and friends.

I just returned slightly faulty Bose QC35ii form last $249 eBay deal.this bh085 is more comfortable and light weight! Use cable connecting PS 4 controller.

I didn't test anc function yet, should be acceptable.bose qc35ii is just OK.

I will test the latency of Bluetooth connection with my Sony x9000h tonight.
