TaoTronics TT-BR014 Headphone Case was $15.99 Now $9.99 with Code: Sold Out

This Case is similar to the case that comes with the BH040s or BH046s. It is only slightly bigger than the oval style case, which is taller than this case but not as wide.

I prefer this style case while flying as I can keep my Kindle Reader in it as well as a powerbank and I stash my wallet, phone and keys in it while in the air and store it in the pocket in front of my seat,

As there have been fewer flights coming in from Hong Kong recently this has meant there have been delays in new and replacement stock arriving for SunValley.

Hopefully, this will be remedied soon.

  • TaoTronics TT-BR014 Headphone Case link doesnt work

Thanks for pointing that out, I have fixed the link :)

Would we be getting the bh055 soon? Thanks

    • +1

I honestly don't know but send me a private message with BH055 in the title and I will be happy to let you know as soon as I have a deal :)

  • Dayum, just bought the BH060 a couple of weeks back for $72. Should've waited for this. The BH060 was quite good too.

  • Thanks OP ordered

  • Thanks OP ordered

  • USB Type-C Port So you only have to carry one cord

Not until all my devices have USB-C

  • There's so many headphones on the market now, noise cancelling was very expensive 3 years ago now it's all about getting everything in one device with little battery life compromise.

What's wierd tho is, if you buy a generic headset its most likely to have type c but products from Microsoft especially their controllers and Sony's have micro usb brand new.

    Very disappointed Microsoft.

I remember at least 10 year ago a friend had a pair of Bose noise cancelling headphones. He let me try them and it was amazing how they were able to make everything silent (just tried them on with no music). I little later a bought some cheap sony headphones that said they cancelled noise, but i never noticed any difference when the feature was on. Now, what is the level of noise cancelling i would be getting on these? Bose-like, or cheap sony like, or something in between?

    • +2

I got the TT-BH22, off amazon maybe 2 weeks ago, ~$65. They've been good, I think I was hoping the noise cancelling to be better, I'd say it eliminates the lowest noise like from the split system heater/fan going, or a dryer in another room, but when the kids are playing or the TV on, you can hear it. I'd say it reduces it maybe 25%, just my opinion though.

I usually listen to low volume "study music" usually instrumental stuff, could just be me.

Positive stuff, they're super comfortable, have worn for 2-3 hr sessions. The battery is very good. Kind of wish I saw the above, as I would have liked to keep it all type C charging, instead of the micro USB port on mine.

On the bose side. For a great perspective, here's how the latest bose wind up against the BH060 (Same ANC, but the BH085 has better audio, microphone and battery life) - https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/taotronics-t…

The BH060 get 8.2 on the noise isolation, the Bose 9.2. Obviously, triple the price has to buy something. On the other hand, Sony's cheap set of noise cancelling headphones, the ZX110NC, gets 3.2 - https://www.rtings.com/headphones/reviews/sony/mdr-zx110nc - Sony basically made those headphones with the cheapest parts possible to tick every box.

I have a set of Sony MDR-100ABN that I paid $250 for 3 years ago. They're the best noise cancelling headphones I've owned and sound great. I'm ordering a pair of these TaoTronics ones because, on paper, they're better (although not as comfortable, but I just had to throw out the earpads on my sony's for some cheap ebay ones that aren't comfortable anyway).

  • Bought, hopefully it will better than Ausdom. Though I heard it's like 80% of WH-1000XM3 for 20% of the money.

  • Ordered. Thanks OP!

  • Has anyone used the BH085?

I have been tempted to get a pair of bluetooth + wired headphones for a while now.

I would like to use these for listening to music and watching movies at home and working in the garden. Travel and commuting too.

Should I jump on this deal or wait for a higher end model to come up? What would I be missing with these and what would be worth paying more for?

    Thanks

    • +1

I have a pair and they are really comfy, sound good and the noise cancelling really helps concertrate when working from home with lots of other background noise. I'm no audiophile, but I like them. Ive been using them for about a month now. Bluetooth works really well for listening to music and zoom calls.

      • +1

Sounds good enough for me! Going to jump on them

    • +2

I got the 85 when they released last month or so for the missus. Very light, very comfortable, battery life as advertised.

Noise cancelling is quite decent, kills road noise and general rumbles around the place, let's in voice range, as it's supposed to do.

Sound quality is decent, gets a little bright up loud but not too bad. The bottom end is full and bass starts clear. Mids are great. Sound stage is average, though haven't had much to beat it at this price; imo Bose qc35 ii and 700 sounds stage isn't great either tbh, but that's the ANC design limiting a lot of that.

Still haven't used voice calls much, but seems ok.

Over all, at this price can't go wrong.

      • +1

Thanks! Much appreciated. Looking forward to getting them.

  • Purchased sound liberty 79 earlier today!

  • +2

I got the 85's in a previous deal and am happy. Have the inner ear earphones (like airpods) but they kept slipping out. These are comfortable and battery is great. Noise cancelling is not bose but considering price its okay. I find the ANC useful when walking as it cuts out the vibration you can hear in your footsteps and a bit of the wind. Other than that the ANC is fine. I dont always have it on either.

    • Thanks!

      How's the microphone for calls?

      • +1

I have used it wired up and connected to work webex conference calls and the sound was fine. Although would.need to check if the microphone was headphones or laptop… never noticed.

        • I have the BH22's and I can't get the wired cable to make the microphone work. I emailed support and got a strange, NESB response suggesting the Mic doesn't work when using the wired option. (And yes, I'm using a 4-pole audio cable.)
I saw someone mention once that the pinout is non-standard, but I haven't been able to find that again and haven't had the time to investigate further.

      • +2

A couple of the reviews on YouTube suggest it's not great, particularly if there is any background noise. Shame because I'm looking for a pair like these that are great for calls but, it seems only the more premium headphones ($150+) carry calls well.

        • Yeah I think I know the review you're referring to. It's a deal breaker for me having a useless mic.

          • +1

@wearytraveller: I have the BH060 (model before this), and the microphone is definitely not good for calls/meetings - they capture lots of background noise, so unless you're in a silent room they're not good. They are however great for listening-only situations, especially flights where the ANC is helpful. Sounds like this model might be better, but not there yet, as regards the microphone?

  • Can I use bh085 in wired mode for conference calling?
Great if anyone can share the experience.
    Thanks

  • Seems like a decent headphone for the price

  • Ordered. Thanks :)

      Also this one: https://youtu.be/Uy9I7T6kb3c

Which seems to contradict a lot of negatives mentioned in the first review

      • +1

Re microphone test - nothing quite like a real world test as opposed to one in a studio. We have no idea how loud his background was in his test.

  • does this work with Zoom, Skype or Microsoft teams on PC. I recently bought JBL 600BT and they dont work with any of these!!

    • BH-060 work fine with teams using BT and with ANC turned on.

That said I don’t understand why the JBLs don’t. You not only need to connect with Bluetooth to your PC, you also have to enable the headphones in teams. At the start of the conversation, click on the three dots and select audio. The headphones should be there as an option. They won’t work until you select them.

      • from JBL website
"Our JBL Tune 750BTNC uses standard Bluetooth protocol for audio communication. Unfortunately, most of our headphones do not support Skype, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, or other similar services. We do not mention Skype or Microsoft Teams support anywhere in the manuals or tech sheets, and therefore we do not support it, and any malfunction is a consequence of this type of use not being supported. If the product/ headphones support the Bluetooth Profile HSP, most likely other VoIP programs will work. We can, however, never guarantee this"

        • +1

Weird. That said, they don’t say they can’t ever work, but they don’t support it. So if it causes any probs they aren’t liable.

    • Any luck with JBL? I have the same issue. I thought of buying a separate Bluetooth dongle for them. I don't understand why they work fine with mobile phones but not laptops. Now I need to buy another headset for webex/jabber/teams but don't know which ones…

  • I just want something for when I study? Wired annoy me, but I already have Bose.

Could these be used for gaming too, TV?

They seem really cheap, good brands are $300-500.

  • What would be the pair of over-ear headphones from TaoTronics with the best noise cancelling? I get pretty overwhelmed with the immense size of the lineup, and the 3 digit numbers don't seem to have any correlation with quality or tier of product.

    • +1

Their absolute best are the BH055

      • Looking at the chart, the BH046 have a higher level of noise cancelling than the BH055?
Wish they included the BH085 in the comparison.

        • +5

The ranking of the best ANC would be

          1. BH055
          2. BH046 and BH090
          3. BH085 and BH060
          4. BH022
          • @bockers: Thanks for the breakdown my dude :)

  • Case sold out already?

  • Anyone have experience with bh042 BT earphones? How is the ANC compared to the TT headphones? BH042 is $39.99 ATM.

  • +3

Hi rep can you do us a deal on your taotronics Bluetooth 5.0 transmittor and receiver? Great device for old hifi and TVs

  • Does BH-085 have multiport support?

    • From what I know, no. But the TT-BH055 does. So I'm holding out for that one.

  • damn, I just bought it for $94.99 and got it delivered on Friday. :(

    • how is the sound quality and ANC?

      • The sound quality and ANC are great for the money. I can't complain. I have the Sony and Bose models. I think they are abit excellent but quite expensive.
        This is absolutely great value.

  • Thanks OP. Ordered.

  • Anybody know if these are significantly better than BH060?

    • +1

I have BH85 and BH60. As well as the 46s. The BH85s sound better to me than the 60s across mid and higher frequencies.
ANC seems much the same in the real world.
Although I can wear the 60s for longer without moving them around on my head.
I like the type C charging on the 85s.

      • Is there much of a difference in ANC between the 46 vs 85?

        • +1

To me the 46 has stronger ANC, probably because the ear cups are deeper and softer so physically block sound as well as the electronics opposing the sound. They are rated 5 dB higher in specs, so makes sense.
My wife can be speaking to me for some time and I am completely unaware with the 46s on!
Whereas not so much with the 85s.
For the price all of the headphones are absolute winners. I do not have the 22s so cannot comment on them and would love to try the 55s.

          • +2

            @Weshouldgetsushi:

My wife can be speaking to me for some time and I am completely unaware with the 46s on!

            I need one of these!

            • +2

@zealmax: Really. I can do it without any headphones. But it tends to hurt when I get whacked on the head eventually.

  • Do they make a hiss sound in ANC mode?

  • Thanks for this, need something to hold me down since the steelseries arctis 3 bluetooth has decided after the fact that mic enabled audio output should be at degraded quality compared to mic disabled audio. Cheers!

    • I thought that was an issue for all Bluetooth headphones & earphones.

      • Really? I mean I'd be more forgiving if the quality was reasonably lossy but with the Arctis 3, literally sounded like the in-game audio (while I was on vc) was being played out of a phone speaker… After emailing SS though they confirmed that it was an issue with the Arctis 3 model and apparently not the case with the Pro Wireless, but I'm not ready to spend upwards of half a grand

  • Can someone please confirm if the BH085 works on MS Teams?

  • Gone already?

  • +1

    Code still working!

  • I've got these and are really happy with them.

  • These are really really good. Much better than the 60s.

  • Hi, Any deal on Bluetooth car kit plz….???

  • I have PM @xev
Getting code not working on the TaoTronics BH085
I think it may be sold out

  • Code not working anymore - oh well, saved myself some money

  • Also getting code not working on the BH085

  • Bummer. Code no worky.

  • Code not working on the BH085, please reactivate. I have been waiting for this for a long time

  • Code not working?

  • Ordered one this morning. Thanks OP!

  • Pls can someone shed light on this:

BH22 mentioned dual drivers but BH-085 does not say that in the ad.
so is dual driver really an advantage or not?

I have the BH22 and a quite happy with them, will BH-085 give the same sound quality or not?

  • I prefer a special on the TT-BH055 if their the top of the range, they don't look much more expensive either.

  • Out for delivery today - damn quick considering the ETA was supposed to be the 12th.

  • Got these delivered today.

They're pretty good but I find not as comfortable or as rich sounding as the Razor Kraken usbs.

Is it a general thing with this generation of headphones, priority on weight reduction over sound and comfort?

To be fair the Razors have 50mm rather than 40mm drivers.

    • update, gave it to my 14 year old. She totally loves it.

      • You just have big head.

        • Lol, just got it and it is kinda tight on my ears. You are right!

  • +1

DUDE… these are some seriously good headphones.. thanks OP

    • I have never owned a pair OE headphones and I am with you. Very impressed and great for the price.

  • Still waiting for mine to ship
