Check the Microsoft ebay store. I think it is similar or cheaper pricing.

No idea why you were downvoted..

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Microsoft-Surface-Pro-7-128Gb-i5… looks like the same model for less?

This model is with Windows 10 Home & part number for this one is VDV-00007… However which we have that one is with Windows 10 Pro & part number is PVQ-00007

        • Fair enough, they are different.

It comes down to $1,069.00 for me as I have an ebay voucher.

        • I normally don't speak out but this is really a deal if you're looking for Surface Pro 7 (for Business) that comes with Windows Pro as i myself made the mistake of buying the normal one that was on sale without realising Windows 10 Home can not join a domain.

          It's $1649 at Scorptec

@akumi: Correct about domain join and a few other things, in all honesty i've bought those "grey" pro keys a few times with no issues using them. However for those wanting an easy job, its a cheap enough difference to go this one over the eBay one if you need windows pro.

@quikstix: Thanks for sharing your thoughts, yeah, after realising my mistake i had to buy windows 10 pro retail to fix up some of the fleet but it's always painful when i have to reinstall them and remember to reapply the keys especially when you're dealing with large numbers.

              • @akumi: yea i do pro for my home machines, friends and family etc. Work wise i never have to worry as we have one of those bulk licence deals with Microsoft (windows desktop is nothing compared to our other microsoft costs :D )

    not a deal

    • And a naysayer badge for you sir.

  • I need to purchase a new laptop/tablet for my wife (kids smashed both of them) and I am completely stuck as to what to get her .

She generally uses it for social media / Netflix / Disney+ but also needs to have USB slots / do a bit of work related activity as well (external hard drives / thumb drives / graphics / work software )

Had almost convinced myself to try a surface but the procrastination fairy hit me on the head

If you buy from the Microsoft Store you can try for a couple of weeks then return no questions asked.

I didn't like it (HATE the flappy keyboard / unpleasant to use in a lap) but others swear by them.

      • it's not intended for the lap. The kickstand is designed for a desk.

My laptop was dying a couple of weeks ago and I was in a similar bind. I ended up biting the bullet and grabbed one from JB for $1274. Pretty happy with it although I don't do anything graphically taxing.

From memory I paid $180 for the plain black keyboard. I don't use it much but it is handy to have.

      • Thank you for the reply , much appreciated .
She’s going from an iPad and basic Toshiba laptop , I’ll go into jbs and have a look

Maybe avoid touch-screens, as they are usually glass and can break easily.
      Get a regular non-touch laptop.

      • +1

or you could just not touch the screen?

This being a tablet, and the keyboard cover being sold separately for $200, I don't think they can get away with no touchscreen.
