Bit of a niche area but may help some people out. Offline sat maps are half price at the moment.
Dad uses the free version for a while now but got him the QLD pack as a easy stocking stuffer.
These are satellite maps for coastal waters and offshore, used for finding good spots to park and explore.

  Whats the difference between Australia wide street maps paid version and Google maps off line or Google earth?

  Why do we need to pay for this?

    They have a free version, but this is just for the convenience of downloading a whole state at once.
    Not sure on the details, but from what he says it works without signal and is better off land.
    Google maps does not allow you to download sat maps only their street maps.

  Geo tracker free android app works offline with sat maps if you preload/browse the location in app while u have data/signal. Also tracks your travel with a red line.
