Wow, good to see Melbourne getting some love with the new routes.

    • As long as you don't book a flight to NSW, you'll be right…

    Some competition for REX.

    • +5

More like trying to beat REX into submission for its audacity in launching into the Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne market next year.

        • Speaking of audacity, an interesting read - Rex’s “Strong-Armed” Tactics Against Local Councils Exposed

In 2014, for example, Rex threatened to pull all direct flights to capital cities from Broken Hill Airport after Broken Hill City Council proposed to increase its service charge from $12 to $12.30 per passenger, in line with inflation.

Rex management may be on OzBargain …

Yup its 100% an attempt to squash REX into staying a tiny irrelevant airline below the 737/777 level.

I mean if it means I can fly to regional areas for $125 versus $180-200 I'll take it.

  • Wouldn't be surprised if this is temporary, Qantas just looking at sales opportunities whilst they are restricted to AU & passenger numbers are down.

  • Gotta use those grounded international planes somehow. A380 to Wagga Wagga would be fun.

Have Qantas finally REFUNDED all those who's flights they cancelled in the past yet??

I'd much rather fly Rex thanks, rather than risk flying Qantas…

    • Yes, received months ago. Took a few weeks but eventually received. Points and cash.
