With this price, I rather getting a laptop :)

    • Horses for courses though

    • Yep you can get a laptop with better specs and spend the remainder on a monitor and KB + mouse (which you'll have to pay anyway with this.

Plus the laptop will have an OS, which this doesn't.

It's a good deal, but bad product.

      • Actually, in the product specification on the link, it does list Windows 7 Home Premium…which does make it competitive with a similarly specced laptop, IMHO :)

        • oh my mistake.

        • But you need to spend on monitor. For ITB drive, get an external one.

Hey mate, This does include Win7 Home Premium. Also, few laptops in this pricerange would have a 1tb 7200rpm drive.

No need to compare Desktops with Laptops. They are totally different markets. Let me know if you can find a laptop where the gfx can be switched easily[at this price point]. Upgrading Desktops is so much easier than upgrading laptops so Desktops are much more cost effective and ozbargainlike

Guys, wait 10minutes. I just got approval to send theese out the door at $549.95 with free shipping! Uploading a code now!

    • What is included in a "Microsoft pack"? It is listed as one of the features..

      • I'm not 100% sure sorry but I would assume its something like Microsoft Office Starter, etc. I'll try to find out from Asus the details.

        • Ok thanks, I guess it's nothing terribly exciting then!

    • I didn't mean to neg your comment, I meant to + it - sorry about that…fat fingers & small screen!

  • how is this an all in one pc?
judging from the picture it must have a flip out monitor and speakers?

    • That's a good point, time to grill the copy writer!

      • thank you
because $550 for i3 all in one pc is cheap

        • There is an issue with checkout - price listed on the website $549.95, when adding to cart goes back to $595.95

  • if it was a different brand i would get it. last 5 products from asus i own has not last at all. decent deal tho.

    • funny-when it comes to laptops Asus is #1 for reliability!

      • purchased one few years ago, first week, the lid glued shut cos of heat, then motherboard had worldwide faulty caps, monitor faulty etc, i've had my fair share of their stuff. unkind to me.

        • Apple aside, Asus and Toshiba are currently making the most reliable laptops, but Computer Choice mag has always borne out in their reliability surveys that Asus desktops don't fare so well. That is in fact an understatement…

        • Apple aside, Asus and Toshiba are currently making the most reliable laptops, but Computer Choice mag has always borne out in their reliability surveys that Asus desktops don't fare so well. That is in fact an understatement…

        • funny since last 5 Asus products I bought have lasted years. Laptop, router, wifi dongle, Monitor and motherboard. Of course I did my research beforehand to check if other people were having problems with it

        • ASUS Mobos (which include the renowned ASRock brand, a subsidiary) are the best in the world, bar none. You have absolutely no idea what you're on about or have never DIY'ed a PC before if you argue otherwise.

They're the only motherboard manufacturer I'm aware of that produces a line of military-specification motherboards (the Sabertooth/TUF Series range) that are certified by independent, 3rd-party testers to MIL-SPEC standards for temperature resistance, vibration resistance, shock-proofing, humidity, voltage capacity and longevity.

There's nothing wrong with ASUS hardware. Every single OEM PC is a mixed bag of good and bad from assorted manufacturers/vendors located all around the world.

You cannot pin the failure of what could be a combination of components (Motherboard, CPU, RAM, PSU, GPU, HDD, etc.) to the OEM distributor who may or may not actually physically manufacture any of those faulty components.

ASUS build quality stuff. Chances are your cruddy PCs crapped out because of Yum-Cha components that had nothing to do with ASUS aside from the fact they were inside a metal box with an ASUS sticker on it.

Which is akin to NASA blaming a failed launch on a single astronaut. Does not compute.

You left out these important specs (from the Asus website):

    • Radiation-Proof
    • Q-Fan for low noisy

mate…either provide better specs for same or lower price OR STFU

    • please take a decent computer course before posting mate.

Radiation proof desktop? What is this, a computer for NASA space stations?

    • lol. I was also thinking, if I will be putting them in front of radiations

That count down clock on the website is so doggy. It's there to rush people purchasing but it's not actually a real sale timer.
Open the site in another computer/browser and you'll know what i mean :)

Sorry not exactly sure what you mean? Our sales do run 24 hours and this will finish up 1pm AEST daylights.

      Cheers, Jason

Low noisy, lol totally written by Taiwanese

  • I'm using a pc like this as a home theatre pc, I just connect it to my t.v. so when the wife is on the computer I can be too, we also use it to download directly using bittorrent so we can watch movies without having to move a hard drive to and fro. It also has a hdmi out port at the back and suprisingly a blu-ray drive! This thing was built for it. Also it would be great to add a big graphics card and play beasty games on my 32" screen at HD using my wireless keyboard and mouse ($25 at kmart for the moment).
