Guess you don't have old drives to transfer…

  • +3

Just note these will only work with 2.5" drives.

    • Thanks.

      Fix the title please mods!

I'm not sure how it works, but you can add it to your wait list, and then can purchase it by refreshing the screen

      • I don't think it's at that price though?

        • No, that is at the normal price $12.99

          • @qedwards: Order Summary
            Item(s) Subtotal:$12.99
            Delivery:$0.00
            Total:$12.99
            Promotion(s) Applied:-$7.90
            Grand Total:$5.09

      • Do you mean wishlist as I don't see any "wait list"

Otherwise its $12.99 unless the promo has expired???

      • +1

The waitlist button appears when 100% have been claimed but not all have completed purchase.

If customers who claimed the promotional discount don't complete their purchase within 15 minutes of claiming the deal, the discounts will be made available to customers on the waitlist, on a first-come-first-served basis.

  • Does this work like an enclosure?

    • yes

    • Only those that don't have too high a power draw. Great for SATA SSD.

If you ordered one of these planning to plug it in to a 2.5inch HDD cancel it straight away. These single USB plug things almost never work properly because the HDD’s draw too much power for one USB slot, if you want one that works use one that uses 3.0 for data and 2.0 for power (edit: two USB plugs)

    • You mean 3.5"

      • nope the low power 2.5 inch laptop hdd's sometimes fail to connect

        • Thanks.

Product description says ssd/mechanical 2.5" via usb. So you'd have grounds for a refund.

3.5" requires model with 12v power pack

        • Not in my experience, but that is perhaps because these things seem to work better under mac os. I've plugged plenty of 500Gb macbook HDDs in using one of these, often enough through the external keyboard usb.
