How is this versus the eufy RoboVac 35c that was $224?

    • Eufy 35c has not mapped feature which is not smart enough.

    • Having used one with map feature, I can't imagine buying one without it now. It is a must have feature to be able to justify using robot vacuum.

      • Viomi vs Roborock vs Dreame vs Xiaomi Mi vs MiJia ?

        • +1

To be honest with you, I am new into this robo vac game. Viomi V2 pro is my first vac and I feel it's very good value for the price. Its app is biggest drawback which is very slow at times. Other than that it's a great product

  • +6

Recently purchased this robovac during Black Friday sale and I'm delighted the way it cleans our house for half the price of S5 Max. Worth very penny for the amount of time we are saving every day for such a great outcome.

    • Do you own a S5 Max? Honest question as not sure which one to buy - among S5 X, S6 Pure and Viomi V3(and V2 Pro now)

      • Yes, my neighbour is owning S5 Max but somehow was not convinced to pay $699 after comparing the specs with Viomi V2 Pro except for battery. I'm glad I took the right decision and saved some good money.

        • +1

Agreed. Works perfectly fine for me with the exception of just the app might be a bit fiddly with loading but cleans well. More than enough battery to do its job too.

      • +5

I have this and and a s5 max. s5 max is definitly better. I paid $299 for this and $560 for the max. At $560 i would buy the max again. This does a pretty good job for the price. Just loses a fair few features that i love with the max.

        • +1

what features this lack compare to the max?

          • +3

            @a1234my: Smarter neater maping.
            Auto high suction on carpet.
Each room can be mapped with different suctions.
            Sequencing rooms etc

    • Does VIOMI V2 Pro support multi-level map?

    • couldn't agree more. so happy with s5 max. great price - wish bought 2

  • Is this local stock or import?

    • It was shipped from NSW but took 14 days to arrive.

      • Thanks, saying that, so this is local warranty with Xiao Mi AU right?

      • fk, and there wasn't an option for fasting shipping with this…

        • When I ordered mine late at night on the 26th, I got it on the 1st, so 4 business days wasn't too bad considering the Black Friday sales

  • Is this good for carpet?

    • +1

Works fine on carpet. It's not going to do the same job as a corded upright, but you can run it a lot more often.

Has four different noise/suction levels, so you could always try the hardcore modes if you need it.

    • Definitely not as good as my dyson v10. Also depends on how thick your carpet is and your definition of clean. I still notice fluff and stuff that's not picked up.

      • +2

How much is a V10? Does it do it itself? Orange and apple comparison

        • +4

Are we not giving a honest feedback of how the unit performs “vaccuming”? If yes then this is a fair comparison.

If u just want something that vaccums for the sake of saying u vacuumed the whole house then sure get this. If u cared about the result then no this thing isn’t gonna cut it and u still need to do a manual clean.

Dyson can be had for $400. The cheapest will still give u better result than this in all cases.

    • +2

This vacuum is more of Support vacuum. You will still need to do hand clean once in a while. But it's still much more effective than most people would think

  • Very happy with mine. Wish it had Google Home support though.

    • Damn, no google home support, no deal!

But it supports the mi home app which should make it google home compatible? Confirm?

      • negative. My mi purifier is google home compatible through mi home tho. Doesn't recognise the vac.

        • Oh that’s unfortunate. Sounds like the Gen 1 is still superior despite being 3 years old.

          https://www.productreview.com.au/listings/xiaomi-mi-robot-va…

          • @pogichinoy: Other than u can say hey blah go clean blah, what else does google home have to offer? Mi home let’s you control all the automation with other sensors and conditions which I can’t do with Google home unless I hacked it with some third party software.

            • +1

@Frozensage: I'm sure you know voice activation is more convenient than using an app. Plus it's great when you don't have your phone in your hands at home, and also is handy when you're heading out and want to turn it on to clean but your phone is already in your pockets or handbag.

My Aldi Deebot 950 failed recently so i went returned it and got this V2 this about a week ago. My first impression is, that its kinda like the 950, but not as smart. i noticed in some area it kept repeating itself. Overall its still good for $300

  • Maybe a dumb question but if my dog or cat pees on the floor in the night. Would these things willingly drive over it? Or would they detect the mess and avoid it?

    • +1

It would drive over it… there are camera based vacuums that might be able to avoid but not sure, think they can deal with poo but not pee…?

    • -2

It would detect the smell and can in the bomb squad

    • +2

S6 MaxV detects the poop but not the urine. Not cheap as well. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.wired.com/review/roborock-s…

  • +1

How is it comparing to Dreamy F9? Thanks

  • +1

What's the best non mop robot vacum? Still xiaomi v1?
    Thanks

    • +1

      Yes

      • Because?

For real, only got V1 this year and all these newer ones around the same price point have me thinking the same thing every time like stalker. Simple example is multi-level mapping and software no-go zones (I have an annoying rug! lol).

  • Note:

    $9.90 delivery fee to Melb

1% surcharge on credit card payments.

  • How does the mopping work when there are hardwood and carpeted areas on the same level? Can it identify the surface it's on and know not to use mop on carpet etc?

I picked up the EUFY 35c the other week from JB. I've been amazed at how good a job it does but having cats with the occasional furball I would like to see how one with mopping goes.

Edit: This guy had a good review of it and kind of answered my question with it.

    https://www.productreview.com.au/reviews/009af957-9fcb-466a-…

    • If you can't tell it which area is carpet/hardfloor in the app then the answer is no. It's a deal breaker for me as well. I know it's annoying but maybe don't attach the mopping attachment when you run in mixed floored rooms?

    • +1

Just answering this question for anyone else. While it cannot automatically detect the flooring, it does map out your house on the first vacuum. You can then program the vacuum using the data collected that certain parts of the room should be vacuumed and certain parts of the room should be mopped.

Overall, I've found this little thing surprisingly useful, but don't expect it to do a thorough job - especially when it comes to mopping. Good for people with allergies but not good enough to be your maid.

      • +1

Yep that was able the conclusion I came to, ordered one and I'll give the Eufy to mother dearest. As an owner of a couple of hairy fat (profanity) cats it has been awesome.

    • You can set what days to mop which area and when to just vaccum.

      • +1

If you set to mop and forget to install water tank, then what happens? Does it just do a vacuum? Thanks.

        • +2

I imagine it's the same as if you don't have the dust bin in there, it just won't run. The thing is pretty smart with some things and super dumb in others. Like the charging station can be directly infront of it, and it will keep going around in circles like a headless chook.

  • I don't like house there is no return home button in the app, just seems to be start and pause

    • +5

Press the charge icon and it returns to base

      • Thanks, it's pretty obvious now.
Only other issue a mentioned above is it seems to get styck in some places and vacuums in circles

  • Is it able to work around obstacles like kids toys scattered around randomly?

    • +2

Depends on how small the toy. I never let it go to my Lego room. It sucks up half of my city. Also destroyed everything in its path.

      • Fair enough. My use case would be around toys as small as hot wheels cars and as large as soft balls

        • also if a toy gets stuck in the vaccum, like an ooshi, it will just stop operation until you come and rescue it. Had afew times that happen when I left home and came back and it's in the kids bedroom dead.

  • Bought one, my first robotic vacuum cleaner 😊

    • +1

Got my first one about a month ago.. should have gotten it years ago lol.

      • Is it worth it?

        • +1

“Should have gotten it years ago”

  • I've got one. Had it about 2 months or so.

I love it. Yes it doesn't clean as well as a manual vacuum, but because it runs more often it ends up as good.

The mopping is surprisingly good. I didn't expect much but we haven't touched our manual mop since we got this.

  • With a house that is completely laminate flooring, is there a robo vac on the market now that is going to keep my corded vac locked away in the cupboard and never to be used again? I know carpet is usually the big difference in cleaning but figured that on hard surfaces, we must be getting close to eliminating any need to have a second machine?

    • +1

Most decent robo vacs, including this one, would have no trouble cleaning laminate flooring to a near-perfect level (with the possible exception of corners).

    • Very close indeed. If you run it daily then you may hardly need to vacuum except for window sills/curtains etc. Your whole house will be very very clean in general. My V1 has reached 36000m2 of cleaning.

      • How can you tell the total cleaning area? In the app mine only shows the last month.

        • it's got a historical figure in my Mihome app?

          • @Naigrabzo: I can see 'Cleaning history' that gives various cumulative stats, but only for the past 30 days. Can't see any lifetime stats.

  • Looks like V3 is slightly better… but not 200 bucks better :)
    https://www.gearbest.com/blog/new-gear/xiaomi-viomi-v3-vs-vi…

Could anyone comment please on the water tank and mop function - gimmick or useful? Thanks.

    • Similar thoughts for S5 Max. Is it really $250 better or almost 2x better than this

      • exactly. my old LG robot is slowly dying, perfect timing. I'm keen on the mopping feature with ability to control water level applied. Thanks Op :)

  • Pulled the trigger - hope it lives upto the expectations.
Been using the Xiaomi Roborock Gen 1 or whatever it is called for over 3 years now and very happy with it. Wanted to try one with the mop and gave it a go.

    • same here. haven't pulled the trigger yet…

  • +1

Bought. Had been eyeing this since it appeared on the Black Friday deal. Was interested in the S5 Max given the larger fan following however, no way I was going to spend more than $300-$400 on a vac and I havent seen anything better in this price range. D9 was my top choice but the mapping issues and no ETA on firmware updates put me off on picking that up.

Maybe I should have waited for Boxing day sales. Hoping that a better deal doesn't come along then to give me buyer's remorse :)

    • That is exactly what I did too.

  • I would definitely consider this if I didn't get the "360 S7" on a sale (~$470).

Specs looks similar for half the price (RRP).

  • +1

Bought this on the Black Friday sale and have been using it for about a week now. Still getting used to it but I would totally buy again. The mapping feature in Mi Home is pretty good and love the fact I can do virtual walls to block off an area (toy room etc). It has got stuck once or twice so have had to manually pick it up and move it and then no issues. Keen to try the mop feature on my tiled areas.

  • Purchased this last week for $299 direct from the Xiaomi AU Store (it's gone back up to 399 now). Works great, it does a similar job on the carpets as my older stick Dyson vac. The only complaint I have is that the dust container is small so you do need to remember to empty it after every vac. I am guessing this is a problem all robo vacs will have though.

  • Does anyone who ordered know how to track? I just got an invoice over email with no tracking information. Tried registering with PCbyte but order doesn't show up

    • PCbyte sent me an email with tracking link once AusPost had it

      • How long did it take to process your order and get it sent out?
I've only received the invoice too no mention of when it'll be processed and sent

        • Less than a business day - but my order was from the deal around black friday, not this one

    • I am in the same boat…got invoice, haven’t heard diddly squat…

Ahhh no I want to see if mine says delivered or not… I agreed for them to leave it outside but now I'm thinking I shouldn't have with 2 vacuums…..

  • I received an SMS from couriers please saying we have picked up your package on Wednesday. Still nothing and it's not possible to track.

    • I emailed them and asked them for the tracking number. They replied the next day with the number.

I received my parcel today but only 1 out of 2 vacuums came… (:
