    reminder: no LIDAR

    • Thank you

    • How big of an issue is this? I have no idea about robovacs and was waiting for the Lubluelu SL60 to come down to $170 again. But this having an auto empty station seems like a better value. Is it?

      • I would go for auto empty station as convenience will make you use it more often.

Have you checked Temu? I got the SL60PLUS for $150 with cashback a couple of weeks ago.

      • How big of an issue is this? I

It depends on how else the robot does discovery. If it just uses the bumper, or if it uses a camera aswell (Like the older Roomba's) in which case you need good lighting. Lidar means it can run in the dark which is great because my house is double storey house so we have the ground floor cleaned and mopped overnight

      From official website
It seems that LiDAR is available for this model

It has LIDAR, but not 360⁰ LIDAR. It has a single forward facing beam which means the vacuum has to spin around to gauge where it's at, whereas 360⁰ LIDAR (the small disc that protrudes from the top of the vacuum) constantly scans it's environment hundreds of times a minute. The latter is obviously far superior in terms of object avoidance and general navigation.

        • Thanks for the detailed explanation. I would go for saving $159 for additional functions that RV30 max does.

    this or the roborock qrevo?

    • +5

Price seems a very big differences, not comparable literally.

    • If mop is not the primary function you are looking for then this one is great entry level vacuum. But if you require regular mopping then Qrevo is one of the best.

Looks like the main difference is in the LIDAR (radar) the cheaper one RV20 has a front facing radar so it needs to turn to know where it is, the RV30 has the elevated disk LIDAR so it has 360 radar it spins the radar on top so it has better navigation. Oh the RV20 has no mapping i think as well.

      Thats what I see.

V20 PROS - thinner so can fit under things better, CONS - no 360 radar and no maps

V30 PROS - better navigation and floor mapping (can map upto 4 different floors), maybe spends less time vacuuming with maps CONS - slightly taller so might get stuck more.

Thats about it as far as i can see have to decide if having mapping is worth the $160.

having 360 LIDAR has a huge difference in terms of mapping
its worth paying the $150 difference IMO

        • This mainly only affects the initial map though, right? Over 2-3 cleans, the vacuum will learn the area better using the bumper I'm hoping?

          • @AlbiesDad: Theoretically yes, but in reality while rooms / partitions doesn't change
the location of obstacles (eg. furnitures / chairs) might change everyday
360 LIDAR will be fast enough to do a re-map in each run to calculate the best path for cleaning
while the front facing LIDAR (V20 series) will be having some bumps

            • @littlesoldier: Hmmm okay, good points - thanks for the input. Grabbed this for my mums office to use outside business hours so if it takes half an hour longer than an RV30 should be no issue. Our T30S Combo at home has all the bells and whistles and is great for where things are scattered all over the ground.

This shows the difference between the two:

  • cheers grabbed one

  • Purchased one during the Boxing Day sales and I love it. Was going to purchase the Lubluelu SL60 but decided on this instead. I use it twice a day to vaccum the floorboards throughout the house and am yet to have any issues. Go for the slimmer RV20 Max if you have a lot of low furniture plus it has a bumper for when it softly bumps something (hardly ever) and yes it has lidar sensors on the front.

  • Cheers OP got 1. Just wondering what others do with double storey houses? For this price tempted to get one for up and down or is it easier to just physically bring it up the stairs when I need upstairs cleaned?

    • +3

Double the savings, it is the Ozbargain way.

    • We have two. One for downstairs, one for upstairs.

  • How is this vs the Aldi one?

$149 for the Dreame Mova M1 for those who are concerned about radar and ok with no tank. Vacuum robot market price seems to go down since Christmas.

  • Just ordered, thanks.
