eufy RoboVac 35c Wi-Fi Robotic Vacuum - $224 (Was $449) Pickup /+ Delivery @ JB-Hi-Fi

940

I have been using this model for 4-5 months and pretty happy as it goes and cleans very good. I run it every day while we are at work and my floors and carpets have never been so clean (we have a dog).
No mapping at all but for this price tag of $224, it is a very good vac.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2020

    Thanks mate, awesome deal! cheers!

  • Does it work on floors as well?

    • +2

“my floors and carpets have never been so clean”

      • Somehow misread steps for floors. Does it work on steps or at least avoid them?

        • +1

None do steps that I know of. I’m sure the smart ones aren’t lemmings. Not sure if this one might take a tumble or not…

        • +1

It is smart enough to sense the drop and avoid it.

        • +1

Daleks couldn't do stairs but that didn't last long

  • Good find !

  • Will this work with Samsung Smartthings?

    • +1

I saw this link, as well as this one.

Looks like you need to Google Assistant or Alexa to integrate.

      • +1

Thanks legend, doesnt look native but does look doable. I pulled the trigger anyway, looks like a very competitive deal.

        • +2

Champion. I figured you were intelligent, as you are running Samsung (No IOS).

  • Does it learn the area/room? or it just goes randomly each time it use?

    • +1

Semi-randomly but it has some sort of algorithm

    • +2

no mapping so just random I think

  • Hi OP … my car is ready to leave for JB … Just confirm quickly if it is good for carpets … my house has 90% carpet.

    • +1

We have carpet floors in all bedrooms, tiles in the kitchen, vinyl floors in the living room with 2 shaggy carpets.
No problem with the shaggy surfaces but one of them has plats (or whatever they call them) along the edges so I have to fold the edges. The second one without plats doesn't require any actions.

How does such vaccums clean corners due to their shape ?
Update : Is it noisy ?

    • Was wondering this myself.. my floating floorboards seem to get so much dust in the corners.

      • it has a special mode for corners cleaning, I use it sometimes after the main cleaning.

    • the 2 brushes protruding out from the front of the robotic vacuum are meant to agitate dust around the corner of walls and get them into the suction path.

Admittedly they are not greatest at doing corners of rooms, however running these everyday will almost always result in cleaner rooms in general. Have been using robotic vacuum (not eufy branded) for many years and will not go back to not having one. Take note that they do require maintenance (eg cleaning the bins every 2 weeks, wipe down etc) but it is much better than having to vacuum the whole house frequently.

      • Since you have been using them for so long, which one would you recommend ?

        • have tried roomba 760 / roomba 980 / Roborock S6

Roomba 760 moves randomly so area coverage is not great. Suction are acceptable and does the job fine. The roomba 980 is meant to be smarter than the 760 where it relies on its built in camera to navigate around the house. It has a better area coverage than the 760 but the bins are difficult to clean. The bins are wierdly shaped which allows for dust to build up in corners not accessible without very fine tools.

The Roborock S6 mapping capability is shockingly good. You could request for it to stop and return to dock at any location around the house and it would take the most direct path back to the dock. The bins can be removed and wash in water bucket to ensure all dust are removed regularly.

I believe any modern xiaomi robot have similar feature and benefits that i have mentioned above, hence i would recommend going with the mid of the range roborock if it was your first.

  • Bought one thanks. Tempted to buy 2 as I live in 2 storey house. :-)

    • +3

Do it. Its worth it. I have had this one for a few months. Bit dumb but value for money.

  • +2

How does it compare to the xiaomi

    • Key difference is this one does not map the room/follow a map.

However it seems to be decently reviewed, so for the price I think it's good. But you'd rather one that follows a map.

Bought this a fortnight ago on singles day with the 11% discount for $399 :hidethepain:

It's a good robot vacuum. It makes a bit of noise, but it's not too bad and it picks up more than what I was expecting it to. For this price it's a steal.

  • How often do you trip over it?

  • can these get over rugs laid out on hard floors? Any experience?
    Thanks fam.

  • Ordered thanks!!

  • +1

Thank OP, bought one. Really wanted a robot vacuum, but cant justifies it for more than 500bucks. This looks a good deal to me

  • Tempted but how well does it clean for a 3-bedroom house without mapping? Thanks OP.

  • Anyone know if this is better than the $179 one from Kmart?

    • Would also like to know how it compares, as the only reviews for the Kmart one are the dodgy/paid 'Mum's rave about this…'
Some differences I could find are eufy has longer run time and the bin capacity is 360ml Kmart v 600ml eufy.
      Can anyone help with reviews?

  • +1

Definitely a good deal! Reviews are generally positive too, but no one seems to be explaining how it can work without mapping the floor… does it just randomly play ping pong and get into rooms by probability?

  • Why would some stores with stock not allow C&C ?

  • Just picked one up! Loving it so far. No 2D/3D mapping, so it does hit and bump. You can control it via the remote or through the app. It's cheap and does the job well.

    • It goes into the bedrooms too? Just wondering how efficient it'd be.

Whats the best robovac in the market and the best value?

  • Thanks OP. Bought one! :)
Been needing a new vacuum for a while now.

  • I have the G30 which is down to $199 which is very similar but maps out the vacuumed area and mops. Been using it for most of the year now and impressed.

    https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-smarterhome-g30-smart-rob…

    • Was it ever full price or is this Kogan "markdown"?

      • I got it as a gift but I've seen it before and although not seen it this low I've never seen it as it's original price.

  • +1

Wanted to buy a robovac to help with dog hair but became fearful of a poopocalypse.

    https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2016/aug/15/roomba-ro…

It was strangely mesmerising watching youtube videos in which the robovac smears excrement all over the floor.

  • How is this one in comparison to Xiaomi Mi gen1. Please suggest.

  • Really nice vacuum. If you don't mind it exploring your home and just running around like a headless chook, it is a very good vacuum. My floors have never been this clean. I just usually set it to run at night time and wake up to clean home.

    • Do you have carpets? My whole house has carpets.

      • Not really. only the home theatre room has carpet and the rest of the house is tiles including in bedrooms.

I have upgraded to Roborock S5 Max for mopping because of all the tiles in the house, and between the Roborock and this eufy vacuum, eufy was better at cleaning. Can't really say the performance on carpet as we don't usually vacuum the HT room that often.

    • Roughly how big is the house and it does a good job with multiple rooms too?

      • +1

House is around 29 squares (4 bedrooms + HT Room, Hallway and Big dinigin/living room).

Given this does not have a mapping feature, it works on random pattern and will continue on a path until getting obstructed and will change direction. Meaning, it might be working in bedroom and may end up in living room in next minute and then into another room. At night time before going to bed, We used to move all the dining chairs on top of table, pick up small items and toys off the floor and close all the bedroom doors. so, the vacuum can focus on main living room and hallway. Say if we wanted to clean just one bedroom, we would lock the vacuum in that room and let it do its thing.

Performance was good for multiple rooms, but because it is on random pattern, it is best to let it clean one room at a time (i.e. leave the vacuum in the room and close the door, so it stays in the room and gets it cleaned). I really liked its edge cleaning feature much better than roborock, also because of eufy's random pattern it takes multiple swipe at one location vs Roborock's pre defined 1-3 time clean.

  • After reading the reviews and comments from the users, this is definitely worth to have it for this price. Considering my usage, I am looking this as my secondary vacuum. Thanks for the post @AlextheMeertkat

  • Is this better or the 11s from Kogan? They're similarly priced.
EDIT: nvm Kogan's is the slim not the max

  • Thanks OP I have been looking to get one and this is a great price with all these positive reviews!

  • Wonder how this eufy one compares to this previous deal - [eBay Plus] ECOVACS DEEBOT N79T Robot Vacuum Cleaner $149 Delivered @ Ecovacs eBay

  • Bought mine yesterday, even the dog is getting used to it quickly only downside is that our rugs have more hair on them than we thought and it gets stuck in the suction bit but takes a few minutes to clean out have ran it 3 times now floors are getting cleaner each time, it does go over the same areas several times and can get stuck on cords but it does come with a boundary tape which you can put down too to stop it from getting into unwanted areas, while it doesn't follow a map of the room it does seem to go around the walls/furniture with its sensors then through the middle of the room but again it goes over the same spots several times so not the most efficient robovac great deal though if anyones looking to get one to help around the house i would recommend you try to sweep up dog hair though to save having to remove it from the bristles

  • Does it go back to home base after battery discharges?

  • Got one, thanks OP!

  • Brought one too. It’s great and others may love it, but for me, no mapping is a deal breaker, hence I’ve listed it on Classified within hours of buying!

  • Bought one purely on a whim yesterday and happy so far after one full run.

Side note, any tips for getting a cat used to a robovac?

  • Is this good on carpets? Looking to buy as a gift for home with tiles and carpets?

  • I bought this. Put it on a cycle last night and let it do it’s thing. It zoomed around picking up all sorts of debris from our wooden floorboards, had no issue transitioning onto the few rugs and mats around and vacuuming visible crumbs and scraps before doing a spiral focus clean on a sandy spot left by my child and then returning to base. For the money I’m impressed, it is superior to our Dyson V6. There are plenty of obstacles around and it had no issue navigating them or getting into complicated areas.

  • no longer seems to be available… i had just decided i wanted one from all the reviews here.. and gone! :-(

  • Has anyone had problems connecting it to the WIFI?

  • How is the capacity? It looks quite small. we find that our vacuum sucks up a lot. I guess this would require more frequent emptying?

  • Yeah, it gets full after each 1 hour run, even if i run it every day but we have a doggo i am not sure what doggos contribution for that.

  • Apparently sold out nationwide but some stores are taking back orders at this price. Rang one store who couldn't/wouldn't help, but another said they could but only in store. Went in and purchased (with 5% off gift card from SunCorp).
They don't know when stock will come in.
Sale ends today according to staff.
    Thanks OP.

  • If anyone has one of these they'd like to on-sell, I'd be interested. Please PM me.
