I know everyone values the points differently. Just curious, what’s the logic you used to get the .008 valuation?

Worth a lot more if you have access to ow redemptions for countries that can fly atm.
The value of the points at the moment seem to be 0.9c/1 point, this doesn't seem to be worth using points on.
Especially considering all the discounts on gift cards at the moment, but even ignoring that this works out at 0.6c/1 point.
Hard pass.

this week can get 10% off $50 Swap card which can be used at eBay. Woollies also has some.
TCN cards seem to have almost daily discounts somewhere (I got some at Coles then Woolworths), although a lot of people are complaining about them (granted, a lot of people are doing dodgy purchases too).

Nope. Or flights (killed by taxes & fees). Or anything else. QFF is mostly for suckers.
Plenty or flights to rural (or low volume routes) that they are worth redeeming for.
Amongst other bargain redemptions, My partner and I flew business and first class to Asia, Dubai and Europe for well under a grand using Qantas points - definitely didn't feel like suckers sipping on Dom.
Qantas points are inherently poor value to begin with. It is almost always better to credit your miles to other OW carriers like AA.

I just booked a Business outright ticket for June from Sydney to Perth for 40k points +$45 so about $340 in points…..so they are useful, just not to buy airpods with.
Things that never or rarely go on sale elsewhere and have reasonable point redemption values in the first place which are improved on discount points specials e.g. RM Williams boots. Still doesn't beat business class redemption value but given the times…
If the points are free, then anything is a bargain really.
