  • Nice to see EB and OW back!

  • Are the bonus amounts added to your everyday reward accounts?
And if I opted for Qantas Points, the 10% amount just converts to QP?

    • +2

With this promo, it's an actual 10% bonus value added to the gift card itself. Example, if you purchase a $50 gift card, it will cost you $50 however it will be loaded with $55 on it. You will not earn EDR points with this promotion, as you won't earn points on gift cards unless it is an actual promotion (e.g x20 points on gift cards), to my knowledge at least. If you want to earn points with the deals this week, your best bet will be the Coles deal, as you will still earn the standard point per dollar 10% off Ultimate Cards

      • +3

In other words, about 9% off.

        • +2

          Who negged?

This sort of bonus value deal is always lower in turns of actual % discount.

          100% over (100% + 10%), so 100/110 = 0.909090…, roughly 9%.

  • +2

Much prefer these deals than the bonus points ones.

  • Does anyone know if there's a limit on how many gift cards you can use at ikea in a transaction?

    • +2

Refer to the FAQ for the answer

      TIL

      • Instore: no limit (staff assistance required at self-checkout).
      • Online: one; however workaround available.
      • +2

Online, you have to convert your gift card to an Ikea card, then you can use however many you wish.

        • If I bought the $30 Student Ultimate Gift Card, how to exchange them for online Ikea Gift Cards? They only have denominations of $20 $50 $100. It's awkward

  • Can you use online footlocker or must be in person at store?

    • On the basis of what the Ultimate Kids & Ultimate Everyone says, you can exchange your Ultimate Kids or Ultimate Everyone card for a Foot Locker gift card, which can be used online or in store, to your liking. If you are wanting the best value for your money the Coles Ultimate GC Deal will be slightly better in terms of value for money.

  • +1

You could stack this with 30% off storewide at Freedom - Family & Friends starting tomorrow. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/892077

  • Could someone who is good at maths (I have dyscalculia) please tell me which is better value, this bonus value at Woolworths or 10% off at Coles? Does one of them work out 9% somehow?

    • +2

      ask chat gpt.

but as a rule of thumb. 10% discount (on cash) is always better than 10% bonus value/points…

the former: you pay $90 get $100. which is a proper 10% off.

the later: you pay $100 get $110, which in essense is 9/09% off.

not a huge difference if you aren't buying a tons of these cards though

  • no baby bunting?

    • +1

No Baby Bunting on these gift cards.

Baby Bunting has never featured on Ultimate gift cards, but they have been participating in the rival TCN gift card scheme for a few years now.

  • only 9.09% off 😈

  • I'd like to purchase the Powerbeats Pro 2 from either Apple or JB Hi-Fi. Can I use this gift card to get a discount?

    • +1

Yes, you should be able to use the Ultimate Everyone & Ultimate Kids gift cards at JB Hi-Fi, so you can use it to technically get a discount on the item. You could also utilise the Coles Ultimate GC deal to get the best value. You cannot use these cards at Apple, if you are wanting to buy it off Apple then you'll have to wait for another points deal on Apple GC's.

  • I have $200 Woolworths gift card sitting in my Special Gift Card Wallet. Has anyone managed to use this to purchase Ultimate Gift Cards?

      • +1

Has something recently changed with the Woolworths Special gift card?

I have not seen any comments in recent OzBargain deals saying Woolworths automatically rejects Woolworths Special gift cards as a payment method when you are purchasing a gift card at Woolworths (or Woolworths Metro).

The second link in your comment is for the Woolworths Supermarket gift card issued by Woolworths Group, which is different from Woolworths Special gift cards (which is what @dairy-coffee was referring to). This link mentions the following:

For information about buying gift cards at Woolworths supermarkets, see this article. For Special-branded Woolworths gift cards, see Special gift cards.

If you follow the link to the Special gift card page on GCDB, it says this:

you can often use Special’s version of a retailer gift card to pay for things that might not be allowed when paying with a regular gift card (e.g. buying another gift card at Woolworths).

  • great

  • I had no luck this morning with Myer GCs. Literally the GCs wouldnt activate at the checkout. Even tried new set of GCs but in the end, they had to refund me. Hoping it was just that Woolworths store.

    • Did it end up working for you?

      • yeah went to another store, no issues

  • does anyone know the old ones can be spent in the shop of the latest cards' list? like ikea doesn't appear in the old student ones.

    • +3

      Yes.

(The Ultimate gift card website is the source of truth for participating retailers, not the packaging.)

For example, I purchased old Ultimate Students and Ultimate Home gift cards with no Officeworks logo on the packaging before Officeworks was added to the Ultimate gift card scheme in September 2022. After Officeworks was added to the scheme, I was able to redeem those Ultimate Students and Ultimate Home gift cards at Officeworks without any issues.

Conversely, even if the logo of a participating retailer appears on the Ultimate gift card packaging, it does not necessarily mean that the retailer will accept Ultimate gift cards. For example, when I was at Woolworths earlier today, I noticed someone put up $100 Ultimate Everyone gift cards that were manufactured in December 2022. That batch of gift cards has the General Pants Co logo on the packaging, but General Pants Co actually stopped accepting Ultimate gift cards a few months ago.

      • +2

Thanks. My partner got me the old card, and i was panicked a bit.
Just settled the IKEA $4k purchase for whole living room with over 50 Everyone & Student cards…
It's a pain to convert them to IKEA GC online with excel recording then make the purchase

  • Has anyone got rewards points for these gift cards? I received 0 and reached out to customer service. They told me that, according to their terms and conditions, purchasing a gift card does not qualify for points. However, I couldn't find these terms on their website.

    • +4

      Customer service is correct.

You do not earn any Everyday Rewards points when purchasing a gift card unless there is a deal that specifically says you will earn Everyday Rewards points. This deal says nothing about earning Everyday Rewards points, so you are therefore not supposed to earn any points.

You can find a link to the terms and conditions at the bottom of the Everyday Rewards website, and if you scroll down to section 7, it says this:

      7. On what purchases will I not collect Everyday Rewards points at the Earn Businesses?

This paragraph 7 applies to a purchase except to the extent that we advertise differently in the terms and conditions of a specific promotion.

You will not collect Everyday Rewards points on any money you spend on smoking products, gift cards (including Woolworths WISH Gift Cards, e-gift cards and iTunes), mobile recharge, Everyday Mobile from Woolworths, travel cards, tickets, cash outs, delivery charges, service fees, donations, Carpet Care, lottery products, Pre-order Kiosks, BIG W Photos, BIG W eBay, lay-bys fees MILKRUN delivery fees and any services or subscriptions where payment is not taken on the MILKRUN app, and purchases using a Country Age Pension Fuel Card, a charge account, or purchases on an ineligible AmpolCard account. Call Ampol Customer Service to check AmpolCard eligibility.

  • Hi there, I just purchased 2 x Ultimate Everyone cards, one for the value of $500 and the other for $400. Will the bonus 10% apply to these values? For example $550 balance on one card and $440 on the other? Or does the bonus 10% only apply for specific values added to the Ultimate Everyone card?

    • +5

The 10% bonus will not apply to the two gift cards you purchased, because you bought gift cards that are specifically listed as exclusions for this deal.

Both the title of this deal and the terms and conditions state this deal excludes all Ultimate Variable gift cards, which refers to the denomination of an Ultimate gift card where you choose the amount to load onto the gift card at the checkout (which I call the variable-load denomination).

The only denomination of Ultimate Everyone gift cards eligible for this deal is the fixed value $100 denomination (where the packaging says it has $100 value), because Ultimate Everyone gift cards at Woolworths are only sold in a fixed-value $100 denomination and a variable load $50-$500 denomination.1

If you purchase a variable-load Ultimate Everyone gift card with $100 loaded onto it, you will still not receive the 10% bonus, because you still bought the variable-load denomination.

      1. Ultimate Everyone gift cards are sold in a fixed-value $50 denomination at some other retailers, e.g. Coles, BIG W.

      • Thanks for your reply, i had a funny feeling this was the case! Am I able to refund these cards and purchase 5 x $100 cards instead?

        • +2

          No, because:

          • Woolworths cannot deactivate the gift cards from their store once it has been activated (unless they get Blackhawk Network to agree to deactivate the gift cards, and Blackhawk Network admittedly has basically no reason to deactivate your gift cards).

          • You probably cannot convince a store/duty manager at Woolworths to provide a refund to you under Australian Consumer Law, because this promotion has probably not breached it.

  • Is the $200 Ultimate Everyone part of this promotion?
The promotional picture only has $100…

    • +3

A fixed-value $200 Ultimate Everyone gift card does not currently exist at any retailer (including Woolworths). The in-store posters advertising these promotions at Woolworths always show pictures of gift card values included in a deal: the posters I spotted on Wednesday had Ultimate Everyone gift cards on there, but only a $100 fixed-value denomination.

The reason the terms and conditions of this offer refers to a $200 denomination is that Myer gift cards are sold at Woolworths in $50, $100 and $200 fixed-value denominations.

  • You don’t need to scan your everyday rewards card to be eligible for the 10% bonus do you?

  • Can you buy 18 $100 Ultimate Everyone gift cards?

    • No

    • Over 4 separate days yes

  • For the deal, must it be the gift cards with the One4all branding? Are Ultimate gift cards without One4all the same thing, just older stock?

    • They don't need to have the One4All logo. As long as they're Ultimate Everyone, Kids or Eats gift cards and aren't the variable load variety then they're eligible for the bonus 10%.

  • -1

Skimmed over the variable load clause

Welp that was a pointless exercise

Now I have $1000 locked to a giftcard

  • Does anyone know where to get discountes Harvey Norman gift cards?

The ultimate gift card only have Officeworks, JB Hi-fi and TGG

  • How high can I go.Has anyone tried using the giftcards to buy a Ikea Kitchen for 25000?
What are the constraints ,technical or otherwise.
