Oeck VPN End of Year Special ~ A$110.94 for 24 Month (~ A$4.51/Month) for First 100 Customers

140

Hi everyone,

This offer is limited to the first 100 customers and the offer expires Dec 25 ( or until 100 slots are purchased ). It is available for new customers only. This is billed as a once-off purchase of ~$110.95 AUD and gives you 24 months of access. Normally this would cost ~$316.96 AUD when paying monthly for 24 months.

Oeck is a new type of VPN with industry-first features. We own all of our own hardware and do not use hard drives at all. Our VPN nodes are RAM only and we do not log user VPN traffic or activity. Our system is automated so that you don't need to go server surfing to find a server for channels such as Netflix. Simply connect to the VPN region closest to you and we take care of the rest. We have 30 Netflix regions available and many other streaming services.

As usual, I will be here to answer any questions any of you may have.

Please feel free to test out the service before purchasing. We don't require payment information when trying it out.

Regards,
Peter @ Oeck.

EDIT: Hi everyone! All slots have been filled and thus we have had to pull the deal from OzBargain. Thank you to all who purchased!

What VPN technology are you using?

    • Hi maxwellian,

We are using OpenVPN as our VPN technology. However our features and the way our network is built is custom made. Here is a list of our unique features:

Streaming Automation - Connect to the VPN region nearest to your location and still access content from overseas streaming services. We take away the need for you to jump around VPN regions. You can also set regions for specific streaming services. For example you can set your Netflix region independently - similar to how a smartDNS service works. This means no more searching for the "right" server to connect to. Just connect to the VPN and we take care of the rest.

Device Profiles - You can have up to 100. Each profile allows you to have unique settings for when you log in. For example, you can have one for your computer, another for your iPad, another for your partner, another for your child, etc.

Advanced Port Forwarding - You no longer need to keep track of IP addresses or configure your software to work with the VPN ports you are given. Just tell us which port to forward to and which device profile and it's done.

For example, if you set up a web server on your computer and enable port forwarding, regardless of which VPN server you ever connect to ( any server, any region ), to access your web server you would go to username-mydevice.oeck.me:portNumber - It stays the same :) - Also great for torrenting.

Ad, Malware, Social Network and Adult blocker - You can pick and choose which ( if any ) of the blockers you want enabled for each device profile. This allows you to turn on Adult blocking for children's devices but keep yours open. It is also very extensive and does a good job of blocking most ad, tracker and malware domains.

Custom filter - You can take the blockers even further by adding your own domain block-list on a per-device level. This gives you complete control over each and every device. This is very powerful and is easily built on.

Custom DNS - You can set your DNS on a per-device level. You can choose for the VPN to give you complete control to your DNS, or set your DNS and still allow the VPN to take control over certain domains in order for the channels and blocking to still work. This means you can even use your own DNS if you wanted to.

Automated server selection - When a user connects to a region they will always connect to a server with the most resources available. This completely removes the need to server-surf on the users end. They just connect to a region and they will be sure to jump on the server within that region that has the most resources available at that point in time.

  • Firstly I think your title is misleading. Its not $4 pm.. its an annual payment.

Secondly I would never pay for a service like this for a period of 24months. Who knows what will happen to the service in 2 years..

      Hi RenVilo,

We are following the protocol of how VPNs usually advertise their services on OzBargain. We didn't want to stray from the "norm". However we do something that no other VPN does ( to the best of my knowledge ). We give users 3 days to try out the service without even needing to provide any payment or card details.

We also have a refund policy that no VPN does. It is not a lock-in 2 year deal. You are free to come and go as you please. When we built this service we did so from a consumer point of view. We believe we have struck a fairly decent balance.

EDIT: I changed the title to better reflect the offer as I agree with you :)

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • Oeck! five eyes are now watching me.

    • Hi alidli,

Then you should probably get Oeck!

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • Hi Peter, is it possible to pay now and start subscription later or pause it for some time? I still have 3 months of NordVPN left…

    • Hi AlxL,

I think we can probably work something out. Can you please first test the service to make sure you like it and it is something you actually want. If all is well please open up a support ticket saying it is AlxL from OzBargain.

      Thanks for your interest!

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • So this VPN service mainly deals with streaming only? Only few servers can be connected to? What if say, a Russian server is needed (just like with the recent deal/scenario), is this possible and If so, how? Thanks.

    • Hi pacificstorm,

It is not streaming only, but it is also not available in every country imaginable either. We built Oeck as a high security, high privacy VPN. This meant that all of the hardware ( including the routers ) are owned by us. Buying and shipping servers is very expensive so we only put them in countries we are targeting for customers and catering to them. We do not have Russia and we are not planning on having Russia as a VPN region in the future.

But we do have Russian proxy servers. Is there any specific reason you want Russia? If it is for a streaming service I am sure we can unblock it for you.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • Dear Peter,

    Two questions:

How will we know when the 100 subs are filled?
Will the subscription renew at full price after two years?

    Thanks.

    • Hi Entropy Reseller,

      Thanks for your questions!

We will pull the deal once the 100 subs are filled.

No, this is a once-off offer only. After 2 years the deal ends and is not renewable.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • Hi,
Does Oeck work with unblocking Amazon prime video site?

    • Hi Samerbh,

Yes it does. However it is not automatic and you will need to connect to the USA VPN region in order for it to work. We are looking into how to make it automatic so that it can be independently set.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • Hola Peter @ Oeck

If it's not too much trouble in your part, could you please show exactly how to setup specifically to a streaming service, i.e. HBO Max, Amazon, Hulu, Netflix (depending on the region), etc. Thanks

    • +1

      Hi pacificstorm,

      We made this easy as possible. So, let's say you live in Melbourne and would like US Netflix. This is what you do;

      1. Go to your device profile settings ( https://www.oeck.com/account/devices/ ). Select your device profile and click on "Settings".
      2. Go to the Netflix dropdown menu and set it to USA.
      3. Connect to the Melbourne VPN region.

      Done!

Now all of your internet is nice and fast because it is connected to Melbourne, but Netflix will show you US. Just remember to clear browser cache / restart device to clear anything Netflix may have left behind in the system.

HBO is an automatic channel. You will also see the list in your dropdown menu for Autochannels in your device profile settings :)

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

    Hi Peter @ Oeck,

Is there or will there be an Oeck app for smart TV’s?

    • Hi alwiese,

We will be making an app specifically for TVs after we knock off some of the other things we are working on. Though not pretty, the app should work on most TVs. Once we finish working on our other apps we will get started on the TV app.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • I am trying to sign up but where is the deal? is it gone already?

    • Hi Bottle-thief,

All you need to do is register an account. Then go to Dashboard > Subscription and make the purchase from there. You can only do this via the website.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

  • Hi Peter who did your website? It has a nice design.

    • Hi alidli,

Thank you for the compliment. I made the website. Since we are a start up we did pretty much all the work involved on our own.

      Regards,
      Peter @ Oeck.

      • I know it's OT, but did you use a web builder, a template or do the html yourself.
Also, now the 100 slots have been taken when do you think you'll have the (500???) OzBargain special?

        • Hi alidli,

I used HTML and LESS ( CSS ) to build the font end of the website.

500 OzBargain special? If you mean 500 slots then that's probably not going to happen. We can probably do another 100 slots, but it depends. We are happy to do another special, but it is only worth doing if there are a lot of users who purchase. Since the upvotes on OzBargain are not enough to get us to the front page it may not be worth doing. Most of the slots that got filled up this time didn't come from OB ( as the deal was not OB exclusive ). If there is a lot of interest we can probably sort something out regarding another special. Is there an EOI section on OzBargain or similar?

          Regards,
          Peter @ Oeck.

          • @OECK: If you can spare the time it may be worth getting the company better known in this section- https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/help:ask_me_anything

            • @alidli: Hi alidli,

Thank you very much for the tip! I am reading the rules of the AMA and it says "advertising / announcing stores, services, web sites. Use appropriate forums instead."

Does this mean it does not belong there or that it does? We did do an AMA on reddit the other week and got to #1 on /r/IAmA which was fun. We just don't want to do an AMA here and get shredded by the community for breaking rules. Though we would love to get to know the community here just like we did with Whirlpool.

              Regards,
              Peter @ Oeck.

              • @OECK: Sorry, didn't see that.
Could sign up as yourself as you seem a decent, knowledgeable guy, and mention Oeck in passing.
Plenty of others seem to do this about companies they work or have worked for.

                • @alidli: Hi alidli,

Thanks for the kind words :) I may message the mods and see what they have to say. I am happy to get to know the community ( I would prefer it actually ). Let's see what happens.

Either way, thanks for the tip and for the chat :)

                  Regards,
                  Peter @ Oeck.
