Just received this email with a code.
Useful for those who are interested in hardware 2FA.
Seems like the code is a one-time use.

* sorry, wrong itemthey really need to make these cheaper…. i hate to replace 5-8 of them at one go. it gets bloody expensive.
Agree, I bought from the previous 50% off deal the for 2 x cheaper blue yubico security keys just for basics such as google and bitwarden and one as a backup but was hoping the 5 series are cheaper. They must be making a tonne of money.
Why do you need to replace them? Do they break fairly easy??
I never had one but am thinking to get a couple (1 main 1 backup), was expecting they would last a very long time?wear and tear as they are in my day to day ,contacts do wear out, as well as when my EDC one just rubs against keys a bit.
the other thing would be supporting new things / firmware, so i'm still on the v4. I'm not the only yubikey user at home, so that quantity of keys compounds. etc
to be fair, for ordinary occasional individual use, it is quite hardy and last a bit. But if you are using it on a daily (few times a day) basis, then be expected of the wear and tear.
the NFC one would reduce that wear, unfortunately I have USB-A devices mostly at the moment.
how do i sign up for a student account
