Thanks, great deal, although can't beat the $269.46 deal

Love this monitor, I bought one from this deal for $331.84

I tried on native 4K, 4K@150% scaling, and 1080, all very sharp!

  • Would this be a good monitor to use with the M1 Mac Mini?

    • +2

Should be ok Mac M1 Mini 2020 specs:

      HDMI 2.0 display video output
Support for one display with up to 4K resolution at 60Hz

    • +2

I am using the QS model with my m1 air. It works great without scaling

    • The M1 Mac mini can support two 4K monitors, 1 via USB-C and the other HDMI.

      • I suppose this monitor only connects via HDMI, no USB-C? I have the new M1 Mac Mini, connected via HDMI to a Dell 4K already, would like a USB-C one too.

        • +1

You can use a usb-c to displayport cable if the mac mini supports displayport alt-mode.

          • +1

@unicorse: I bought a usb c hub with hdmi port of amazon and works good with this monitor

  • Another 30 bucks for a stand: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/588980

    • Was going to pull the trigger but this has gone back up in price so its $510 with discount.

    • +1

So the S in QS literally stands for "stand"…

      • +1

        yeah, smartazz…

  • Been using this monitor for Ps5 (waiting on my S2721DGF for online MP) and it has been an incredible upgrade. I tried playing on my 1080p Benq yesterday and lasted about 5 minutes.

The colours, resolution, everything is great. Still easily worth this price.

  • +6

Order I placed last month for 24" is now expected to ship in March

    • +1

      Same here. Rip.

  • +1

Great monitor for the price. Got one in the past deal.
But I still prefer my 32" 144Hz "Curve" screen over this. Once you go 32" curve, its hard to go smaller or non-curve.

  • is this HDMI 2.1?

    • no

    • even the likes of powerful S2721DGF does not have HDMI 2.1

  • Is this compatible with my MacBook Pro 2015 13inch model?

    • I think your model only works on 4K@30Hz. but i could be wrong

  • Should add to OP "Delivery in January 2021"..

    • If they're lucky

  • +4

Just to update Dell is delaying the delivery they have pushed my delivery from 14 December to 24 March 2021. think before ordering

    • Considering Dell's traditional annual Xmas-NY week sale, I'd wait to order anyway.

    • +1

I ordered in the last deal, got notified it was being pushed to late January. Was delivered today. YMMV

      • Same here, my unit purchased on BF arrived today. For those deals, it appears they have an internal priority beyond the automated system which is providing these estimated dates, based on comments by LiMaaa. I don't know how accurate it would be for a sale like this though, that isn't a posted sale with given delivery dates like the BF sale was.

  • Same as everyone else… Dell has F'd me by delaying delivery without any notification on the 27"DGF… Escalated because they are still running these deals even though they already can't deliver what they've sold

  • +1

Dell deliveries have fallen in a heap. Only buy if you are happy to wait several months.

    • The problem is … the value of what you are getting may fell a lot … sad ..

  • How does this compare to the BenQ PD2700U? I like the blue light filter and the colour gamut available in BENQ

  • you can receive it in the next year sometime……….

  • My monitor bought on 2/12, said it would arrive by 16/12. Last night got an email saying ETA was now 08/3/2021. Partner gonna get a lateeee Christmas present. Not toooo impressed tbh.

  • Great screen too small font on my mac

  • Sorry guys if this is a bit of a noob question but I just bought an expensive Dell system with an RTX 3070 and some high FPS games to run on it when it arrives, however I overlooked the fact that both of my fairly expensive and still reasonably high quality 27/28" monitors don't have G-Sync. Is this almost a must for these games (i.e. Cyberpunk, Doom Eternal)? I've never hear of Adaptive-Sync but is this just a non-proprietary way of doing the same thing as G-Sync that Dell is achieving with this monitor? Longer term I was aspiring to maybe spend up on an LG OLED 48" but perhaps this might have to do for now - so sad though to have to chuck out one of my current screens…

    • Those technologies are not essential, you can still enjoy the games with regilar vsync on or off (for max FPS)

    • sadly monitor resell prices have gone down the HOLE and people can only rip you off when they negotiate

    • +1

Do your monitors have FreeSync? NVidia supports more and more freesync monitors all the time - and even though mine is not officially supported, it works anyway (which is apparently commonplace). Look into this, as my Asus freesync is running g-sync and all you have to do is turn on G-Synv compatability in the NVidia Control Panel in the G-Sync settings area.
Also be careful of very good monitors that are 60Hz - horses for courses, 60Hz is great for work but if they are limited to 60Hz, you will want more for a gaming beast that would be running 100+frames in most games :)

edit: should have asked what refresh rate your current monitors have. I 've had great work monitors, but they did the standard 60Hz. If your current monitors are capable of 100+fps then I would wait and see if you can get G-Sync working. You can usually tell straight away, find your most resource hungry game, set it to max settings to make it chug a bit, then go find busy gameplay to test the screen tearing. You can usually tell if it looks clean to swipe left/right quickly, or if things look jagged and tear straight lines etc

    • Adaptive-sync is VESA non-proprietary terminology for FreeSync (which as an AMD trademark).

FreeSync monitors that pass Nvidia's testing are listed as G-SYNC Compatible in this list.

For FreeSync monitors that are not listed, you can still enable G-Sync with the Nvida control panet, it just might not work so well.

      • Thanks, I managed to find this list after a lot of googling. Only one of my monitors (Samsung u28e850) has freesync but it's not on the list unfortunately, even though it is a 4K monitor. I only have an RTX 960 at the moment and apparently this feature is only enabled on Nvidia GPUs in the 1000-series and above, so I will have to wait for the new PC to arrive. Hopefully Dell will get it to me before Christmas, so if I need a new monitor I can perhaps look at the boxing day sales. Some of the prices on gaming monitors make me think a bit more about just contributing that to the LG 48" OLED when prices eventually drop. Thanks all for the advice!

  • does amd use thunderbolt

    • No, but USB4 is backwards compatible

    • It's motherboard dependent. Some high end motherboard would include Thunderbolt port(s) and wire it to the PCI lanes.
This monitor has no Thunderbolt port, it doesn't even have USB 3 hub.

      • AMD doesn’t feature Thunder bolt and is Intel only

  • What's the cheapest way to connect two of these monitors to a MacBook or a PC.. thanks in advance..

    • On a MacBook assuming it’s 2016 or later, if it’s 13” you need a thunderbolt to dual displayport adapter, at 15” you can use two ports with single USB-C to displayport adapters or USB-C to displayport cables.

    Here we go again…

My order from Black Friday deal was supposed to come yesterday and I received an email yesterday saying that the new delivery date is March 2021. If you can wait that long, go ahead. If not, I think consider other options.

    • I am also waiting for order to be delivered. No charge in order status since 3 weeks.

Order from Dell these days, only if you are ok to wait for months. Customer support is unable to give any ETA. You may only get a standard apologize message.

      • +4

This is the most ridiculous delivery duration that I have seen. They shouldn't have taken orders for the products that they haven't manufactured yet. We are not ordering a custom made AMG here, this is a monitor which should have been in their local storage.

Should be safe to ignore that delivery date if it comes from that deal. The order status didn't have mine coming until late next month, but it arrived today. Those deals appear to have their own priority independent of automated website ETA.

  • I have received the same email today regarding order delaying, expected delivery on the 10 Dec now delayed til 8 Mar….ridiculous….i called service number, and no one is taking the call except reception, can't even cancel the order. waste of time and money.

  • I ordered this monitor on 15th October, with various expected delivery dates increasing to early Jan, however it arrived yesterday (10th December) - there’s hope!

  • Any deals on the Dell 27' QHD 75hz monitors?

    • Actually I have both the 2k and the 4K monitor. I prefer the 2k s2721D, uniformity and colour is a lot better on the 2k model. the 4K one has darker edge on the display

      • +1

with your 27inch 4k monitor , do you scale it back cause its so hard to read?

  • +1

I ordered this model, the base is wobbling too much, I changed with the QS, way better. Overall very good monitor.

  • I ordered this monitor when it was $331 and received it in 3 days. Was shocked and happy.

But its been great. I game, Netflix and work on it. Input lag is great for games. Spreadsheets and documents are very clear for work. 4k at 150% scaling is totally fine and provides enough screen real estate. Can't wait to get a ps5 eventually and try it out.

The only issue I have is the noticeable light bleed from the screen edges. Only noticeable in dark scenes. But for the price I'm not complaining.

  • Ugh these S models suck. More Ultrasharp deals pls!

    • I'm curious as to why you say that, what do you not like about the S models compared to Ultrasharp Models?

      • I ordered an S-model. Really poor (unusable) reflections from adjacent window that I don't have on my older Ultrasharp. Also feels cheap and plasticky in comparison. Otherwise decent panel itself - runs cool and efficiently. Just a shame they cheaped out on the coating

        • Ahh okay I see, so if you're using it in a room where external light isn't an issue then the S model should be fine ? Thanks for the reply by the way

  • This would be a dream if it went back down to under $300…. might wait

    • Shopback now offers 12% cashback on Dell. That would make it under $300.

  • So just wondering if this will drop more in the price later on, my thinking is if I'm gonna wait anyway considering the shipping delays might as well wait till to place the order if I can get a better price. Also this model and the one with the stand, the stand is the only difference right? I plan on using a monitor arm so if they're the same that works out pretty good for me

  • @LiMaaa will probably have more deals for us on Boxing Day. His orders are not affected by delays much since it is segregated stock. (USD has dropped, cheaper AW3821DW please)

  • Can anyone tell me if this monitor is able to fit an alternate Dell stand by popping open the back plate where the VESA mount is located? Does the inside of that area have those bits where you can clip in a standard Dell adjustable stand?

    • It doesn't. You can't snap on the S2721QS stand to it for example

      • Ah thats a shame. Thanks for the confirmation on this!

  • Ordered 14th Dec, received 31st Dec - was showing 15th Jan.

I guess Dell puts a worse case scenario shipping date so that people do not start calling and harassing in case they run late.

    • Not in my case on previous monitor order. Ordered Nov 30, delivery Dec 10. On Dec 16 delivery changed to Mar 6. I cancelled.

      You were pretty fortunate.
