Yes, from 18 to 23 Nov.
This or the EKO?
That's the question!
What's the answer?!
I'm in the same boat for an outdoor, undercover man-cave solution
EKO has Android TV
Philips has brand and better sound (no doubt)I'm leaning towards the EKO as I have a spare soundbar that can overcome the reported poor sound from the EKO.
Wondering if you can load/sideload Foxtel Go App on to the EKO.. can't seem to find a clear answer on that.
Philips has brand and better sound (no doubt)
I'd never buy a TV for the sound. They could come with no speakers for all I care. You're always gonna beam it to external speakers (or headphones even) for any decent sound quality (other than for straight "news").
@wisdomtooth: i thought Philips were just a licensing deal on TVs etc, ie they dont make them, only rent their name out to manufacturers
@CarnivalMonkey: Yes, Philips is a no name brand these days.

I'd pay no attention to either internal smarts/android or internal sound.
Cheap/crude implementations of Android TV are sometimes OK for the first year or 2, but it's not uncommon for them to never recieve updates and to run poorly.
Sound on a TV is always poor.
Probably doesn't help but I'd consider neither feature to be deciding factors.
Could you repeat that?
This or OLED?
Not even remotely the same price range.
How about the 55" fFalcon by TCL? It has pretty good speakers and sound for $499.

My brother has one and it's very good value for money. How's the backlight bleed on the FFalcon?
Can't wait for them to start selling the proper Philips Tv's with ambilight.
They're absolute rippers
How about those DIY kits on eBay for $25-45?
That kit only works with computers unfortunately.
I think Philips has a kit for ~$800 that replicates the effect off the TVI have a UK import Philips ambilight and the changing colours reflected off the wall creates a much more immersive effect
Strongly recommend trying itCan't believe that HMDI passthrough active bias lighting isn't in greater demand and thus production.
The Philips Hue gradient solution costs upwards of $1,000 for the whole kit and only does the sides and top of the TV if 75" or larger..
Ah, right. Some people are making it with an RPi.
Seems worth it, by what you say.
UK always get the better tvs. Their linsars have the centre pedestal stand.
The 58" version is cheaper by $5.

Wow, didn't notice that! Same is happening with the EKOs.
Wonder if it's bc the odd size fails the search filters…
That 58" actually fits the spot I have for it (1400 EKO vs 1302 Philips). Is QLED that much better than std UHD? Saw a comparison of QLED and UHD Samsung screens that was ambivalent…
There doesn't appear to be much stock of the 58in one around though. I just picked up the 55in for $587 from TGG and they had quite a few in stock.
I have the 55" in my kids room. It works OK, but the UI is a bit frustrating at times.
I bought this tv through GG commercial for $420 back in October.
How's the backlight bleed on this?
Was $599 last month also.
