  • will Amazon price match?

    • As far as I know, Amazon does not have a Price Match policy. More likely to get a Price Match at JB Hi-Fi.

      • I think it was a joke as Amazon don't stock Google items as they compete against Alexa.

Also Amazon live on price matching, that's how they smother the market, make smaller shops close then charge what they like.

You've described how they set their prices. They don't have a price match program.

          • @Joker042: So they set the price of their items by matching the pricing of others. And they match these by being aware of these prices by a variety of means then change their pricing to be the same (almost like matching?)

So you could say they sometimes price match things?

@kulprit: Careful mate, stretch that far and you're likely to pull something.

They were $249 in the eBay sale earlier in the year and didn't sell quickly

    • didn't even sell out. Not even the bots are buying it

I paid just over $260 a year ago, this is not a great price. Can highly recommend the product though.

    • How do you use it? I've got a few google home minis that we use for home automation / music etc. Bought a nest hub (smaller size) and don't use the screen at all, so can't justify buying the bigger screen version. Am I missing something?

Bigger screen, camera (for gestures) and significantly better speakers… my elderly parents love theirs (thanks TGG) but I probably wouldn't buy one myself over the much cheaper Nest Hubs.

There's no comparison with the regular nest hub if you ask me. Much smaller and can't cast stuff as far as I'm aware.

          • @End3vour: Are you sure it's crippled doesn't have Chromecast built in for casting? I can even do that with my first generation smart displays (JBL Link View and Lenovo Smart Display 10). I can even do Android screen mirroring after an update.

The main thing I use it for is to stream sports while I'm cooking or doing dishes, it's awesome.

Great for live-updating, collaborative Google Photos albums – you finally get to see and enjoy all those photos everyone takes. Speakers are definitely better; I use the Nest Cam for surveillance while I'm not home; the camera is also fantastic for gestures and disabling/enabling personal results when you're in the room – when you walk in, it shows your upcoming events and reminders.
