Is that where they charge you double in shipping?
Double shipping and the item is cursed.
That's bad…
@Lizard Spock: But it comes with free Kogan credit…
@dufflover: That's good
@Iwantthebestprice: The credit is also cursed
@Lizard Spock: That's bad
@Iwantthebestprice: But the banks give you extra cash back
@Lizard Spock: That's good
@Iwantthebestprice: But the banks have hidden fees that are also cursed
@Lizard Spock: Can I go now
Thats where Gerry Harvey pops up on the screen and charges you double GST for any imported stuff!
And has this maniacal laugh as he drains all of the cash from your wallet into his overstuffed underpants!
He's between jobs.
It worked for me. I did have to pay with my soul though.
And in today's news, they have been fined for price jacking:
Kogan has been ordered by Australian Federal Court to pay AU$350,000 for misleading consumers by inflating the prices of products and then promoting "discounts" for these products.
The court already found the company misleadingly inflated prices for its online retail sales back in July. Kogan hiked the prices of over 600 products and then promoted "discounts" for these products. Shortly after the sale ended, Kogan proceeded to reduce the prices of the affected products back to their pre-promotion prices.
Four years ago, the online retailer was fined AU$32,400 for similarly using false or misleading representations in a Father's Day promotion. At the time, the ACCC ruled the online retailer intentionally increased its prices before offering customers a discount.

That's bad!
Nah, that’s good. Yay accc
My item that ships in "1-2 days" has been 8 days and still not shipped yet from Kogan.
I received two of my orders within 5 days.
Everyone else is ordering online right now too. It is a reality for this time of year, even more so for this particular year.
Well why didn't they change the ETA on the products then? It has said "1-2 days" on the website for anyone continuing to buy products even though they know they have a week backlog.
I try avoiding buying from Kogan as they are most unreliable , I too have an order that has been sitting their for a length of time without getting shipped.
Just checked the same item that I ordered for $39.98 and waiting for has been Priced Jacked to $69.99 incl. free freight.
Go figure !!!
All my Black Friday stuff arrived within a week.
People are negging my comment like they don’t want anyone with positive experience to comment.
bought a xiaomi weighing scale 2. i ordered it on 29th October 2020! and its now say scheduled to be send on mid December 2020. geezzzzz
Actually same, I ordered the xiaomi scale on the 25th of October and two weeks later was emailed to expect it by 2nd of Dec. Checked again today and now it's saying it's expected to be dispatched on the 17th of Dec.
Was just about to put an order, then saw this ;)
I got mine within a week. But I'm in sydney
I noticed a $5 increase in the price of a small item I was after. It's still a saving from the previous $10.90 shipping fee but be aware that Kogan does change their prices when they run these promotions.
Yes, I noticed that too. Poco x3 nfc was $370, now $389. Cheeky.
They got a $350,000 fine last week for price jacking. Seems like the fine wasn't big enough to stop them
https://www.zdnet.com/article/kogan-fined-au350000-for-offer…
Their share price actually jumped up at the news of such a small fine.
@arkie0: Yep, this is why:
"Gross sales and revenue for the 2020 financial year also increased to AU$769 million and AU$498 million, respectively, which were increases of 39.3% and 13.5% from the prior year. "
The fine is 0.045% of sales. Their sales are over $2 million a day.
The message is clear: "Price jacking will make you rich"
Kogan just got 2 Mil fine for increase price by10% before the 10% sale, heard from the radio this morning, they just never learn.
It's their entire business strategy. Appear cheap but the prices are usually just mediocre, and most products they sell are just generic shit, nothing really exclusive.
Yerp, rebadged crap quality with a smile
Profit is likely > than fine, so it's cost of doing business in their view. If it doesn't hurt, fines should be bigger until it hurts and should be repeated until practices finally change. (Better would be if they are forced to refund the impacted customers.)
is there any site to check kogan price history? like camelcamelcamel?
pricehipster.com
Thanks OP. Managed to get a Xiaomi HEPA filter for my Air Purifier I purchased at the start of the year. $45 with free shipping seems cheaper than everywhere else.
Disgusting behaviour and repeat offenders!
I heard 2 mils this morning.
ACCC were asking for a $2m penalty but didn't get it.
An analyst said 'the penalty is immaterial from a financial standpoint' about the $350k.
serve them right.. I found that their prices fluctuates too much .. so I wondered if those "Kogan" branded actually cost
They won't care, 350k is nothing for them.
They have Xiaomi Dreame V10 for $249. Is that a good deal? Not sure why V9 is $299
Anyone? I have same query too now. If I search past OzB deals this looks to be a good price but the corresponding post didn't seem overly popular
@thriftee I think best way to test is created a new thread :)
also the v10 isn't eligible for free shipping with this code
Yeah I just ordered a toothbrush off them, service too slow, shipping too slow, probably won't again.
Does anybody know if purchasing an item from kogan.com that is a "marketplace" item still shows on the credit card statement as from kogan.com?
Yes. I just received CBA cashback from marketplace order.
Thanks - that's what I want to do too!
Comes with lifetime free email and SMS spam. Seriously, up to 3 a day, and when you click on their unsubscribe link they just ignore it.
A reckon 50% of my emails are from kogan
Where do you enter the code ?
Is it after Paypal screen ?
It shows up in cart when you go via website
Under the extended care section. I am logged in, if that makes any difference
thanks, it doesn't work for the mechanical keyboard, works for another random item I added to the cart.
before. on cart
afaik it doesnt work on presale item
Does free shipping apply to "marketplace" items? Does Kogan First free shipping apply to marketplace items?
Ordered a monitor stand and free shipping on 1/1/2021…
Loving Kogan first, they keep giving away free shipping to everyone anyway
Loving or leaving?
Loving probably
never tried kogan - amazon ebay and gumtree is enough for me
Online retailer Kogan has been ordered to pay $350,000 by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission after making false and misleading claims about its tax time promotions….
https://insideretail.com.au/e-commerce/kogans-misleading-con…
Would check to make sure they haven't jacked the prices to incorporate the shipping costs prior.
Yeah, no coupon code field for the marketplace item I just tried ordering. Also a shame that the code won't last until Saturday, to stack with 10% off Zip Rewards LOL.
Still not worth the marketing comms you get after buying from them
https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-dc-motor-mini-led-air-coo…
How is this for cooling a small room?
It's an evaporative cooler. If your room is already humid it doesn't work and you'll need the windows open to get rid of excess moisture to prevent mold.
Better to just get a cheaper regular fan at bunnings.
Ok thanks. I already have a cheap kmart fan so was thinking of using them in combination especially for hot days in sydney.
Any mathematicians here?
If I want to buy something $350, is buying $250 giftcard through Suncorp, and paying the remaining $100 on Commbank card going to get me the best price?
Maybe
You don't need to be a good in maths to figure that out mate.
6% of $100 is only a $6 discount. Commbank gives you back $30….
i think the real question is - do they stack?
I didn't see exclusions for buying giftcards on Kogan, so my 2 cents:
You buy a Kogan $100 gift card with Commbank card ($30 back).
You buy a Kogan $100 gift card with Amex card ($20 back)
You buy Kogan GC via sucorp for the remainder.
I can't see the terms anymore on CBA, but the amex ones:

the true master!
I'm curious how long it takes for the Kogan gift cards to be emailed after the purchase from Suncorp.
Not sure about Kogan but Amazon gc were emailed to me within mins.
Thanks !!
Can confirm that same is valid for ebay GCs. 1 time I did have to refresh the suncorp page to be able to get access to the GC.
For the items this doesn't give free shipping for, do you know if Kogan First gives you free shipping?
It would show up near add to cart button Saying “Free shipping with Kogan First”
Damn, I guess not then. So annoying, the product I want is just over $100 if you factor in $25 shipping but I don't have the $20 cashback offer on either my Amex or Westpac card :(
Lame, no free shipping on items i actually want
Anyone confirm if you can enter both Gift card codes AND promo code (SANTA) together?
having same issue as well
I can confirm SATAN doesn't work
