Get 10% Cashback Every Saturday in December (Max $30 Back Per Transaction) Using Tap & Pay @ Zip

8761

There seems to be a lot of confusion based on the comments so let me try and clarify how this works:

  1. Sign up to Zip Pay. Not Zip Money. You can use the 'Related Offers' at the bottom of this description for new signup options. Note that you must provide your email address or phone number if you want a referral, there’s no referral link and you can’t be referred without that info!
  2. Download the Apple or Android app and sign in with your details. You will need a smartphone with NFC.
  3. Go to the "Cards" tab within the Zip app. Click on Add to Apple Wallet (or Google Wallet if using android).
  4. Go to any store that accepts tap & go on credit/debit cards. Do not ask if they accept Zip Payment as this is a separate payment method.
  5. Purchase anything (any gift cards, services, goods, literally anything) and checkout with Apple Pay or Google Pay by tapping your digital Zip card on Saturday. Do not spend more than $300 in one transaction if you want to maximise your benefit as you won't get 10% back above $300!
  6. You should see the rewards balance reflected under "Rewards" within the "Your Zip" tab of the app immediately.
  7. Once you have reached $30 in credit, click on the redeem button to apply the credit to your account.
  8. Pay off your Zip account by linking a credit card to earn points and defer payment (The screen says debit card but many have confirmed credit cards to work as well - Amex will not work). It takes 3 days for processing payments to finalise and you cannot make additional payments sooner than that.
Things to note:
  • Applying for a Zip account will trigger a credit check.
  • Redeemable once you've reached $30 in credit (I.e. Min spend $300)
  • Rewards balance will continue accruing even if you don't redeem $30.
  • There's no daily limit. The only limit is your credit limit.
  • Apple Pay and Google Pay don't have a $100 tap and pay limit like normal cards. The limit is unlimited since you biometrically authenticate yourself at the time of payment.
  • You cannot prepay your zip account via BPAY so that it goes into credit. I contacted Zip and they informed me that since they’re not a bank they’re not allowed to hold deposits. If you prepay your account you will be breaching their T&Cs and your account may get blocked. It will take a few days to unblock. Do so at your own risk, some have reported success while others have confirmed they got blocked.
  • You cannot make payments online.
  • Max $30 back per transaction.
  • Excludes Westfield gift cards purchased from Westfield
  • On days other than Saturday, you can still earn 3% or 5% cash back that will accrue towards your rewards balance.
  • Within a twenty-four (24) hour period, you (a) are limited to redeeming your Reward Goal eight (8) times, and (b) will not earn any further credit back if you spend $4,000 or more.
  • 10% back on Super Saturdays will override all other cashback offers with lower % back.
  • By end of 8 January 2021, any credit back that has not reached the Reward Goal will be cancelled.

Surely they are wrong since the T’s n C’s does not say this.

    • This contradicts the T&Cs listed on their website.
I would be inclined to believe the T&Cs listed on the website vs customer support.
There is only one way to find out. ;)

  • Can you use this to top up opal card using the top up machine in train stations?

    • Can you tap and pay? If yes, then yes…

    • Can confirm it works, got my 10% off Opal topup today.

  • I can't see 10% credit tap and pay Saturday in my Zip app anymore. What I got is 3%on tap and pay with Zip….promotion stop? How about you all?

    • I can see it my my zip app. it is under * Your Zip* and then click Rewards it will show up.

    • I can't see it now either. It was there before.

  • Just signed up.. No mention of 10% off on saturdays anywhere in the app

    • I can see it my my zip app. it is under * Your Zip* and then click Rewards it will show up.

  • So is ths in stores only not online was looking to buy a microwave and try and get best lowest price.

    • You need to use Apple or Google Pay

      • So if an online retailer has something i need whats required zip or the two you mentioned to pay and then you get 10% back? Sorry bit confused.

    • Buy a prepaid mastercard first?

  • any tried making extra payment by BPAY? I made extra payment on Wed and it still isn't showing.

    • no idea, for me, my limit is 1000, for this month i just set schedualed payment to weekly pay 1000 on every friday, shop whatever available on saturday.

    • BPAY can take a while, but 3 working days is normally enough. You could be unlucky though.

    • Honestly, I don't know why merchants claim it'll take 3 working days. BPAY should be processed overnight.

I'll be really annoyed with Zip if they don't process overnight or apply BPAY payments to Zip accounts manually.

    • +1

Yeah took about 2 and a half days until the balance was updated

      • I'll be making my first BPAY payment tomorrow and keeping a close watch on this.

Zip is big enough and sophisticated enough to be applying BPAY payments overnight, as soon as the batch information is received via its bank.

  • Can someone please let me if there is bonus points offer by buying Prepaid Mastercard or visa from Coles or WW ? I tried look at the catalogue and seems not there. Thinking to buy that rather than usual supermarket gc.

    • That was last week's coles deal and only available for 1 per account. I do not see it happens this week.

  • Interesting. Paid with Apple Pay and the cash back isn’t showing immediately (10 min later even) as it did last week. Notification acknowledged that I had earned only 6% of the purchase price not 10%.

Edit: it’s now showing 3% earned even though the offer says from 12am …

    • If you learnt from last week. Start time may get delayed. Better do not try at "12 am." Or "11:55pm" They start late and finish early for last sat.

      • T’s N C’s specifically say 12am it starts

This Offer is only available on Saturdays in December (every Saturday in December 2020, being 5, 12, 19 and 26 December 2020 between 12:00am (AEDT) and 11:59pm (AEDT) on each of these Saturdays) ("Offer Period").

        • Yes, yes, of course, but their system sucks. At least last week they started later than 12 am and finished earlier than 11.59pm. you know what I mean. Do not pay around the cut off time. During the day, or before 10pm. Makes you safe. Otherwise if you want to spend time to talk to zip. It's your choice.

    • You need to wait until the 10% banner appears in your app. Otherwise 3%

    • have a check now, it seemed like there was an issue. Mine just popped up now reimbursing the difference when i made purchases at 2am

  • -8

I am not Australian Citizen or PR holder and I do not have Aus License or Medicare.
How to get my zip pay account verified without these 2 options?
    I do have Indian License/Passport.

  • +2

Filled fuel at 1:24 am AEST (Sat 12/12) and only see 3% even though 10% should have started Friday 11pm AEST (12:00 am AEDT). Will have to contact support now :(

    • +1

I got a “missed rewards” credit top up.

    • Did you see 10% off banner in your app before you tap?

    • have a check now, it seemed like there was an issue. Mine just popped up now reimbursing the difference when i made purchases at 2am. It should say "X amount - Missed rewards" under the rewards activity

      • Yep showing as missed but not yet added to rewards totals. Will wait for some more time. Atleast it's good I didn't have to contact customer support

        • for me the next tap purchase will update the rewards balance

  • Zip is … errr.

  • Does this include jbhifi?

    • Yes.

  • So I can be boring and buy a $300 Woolworths gift card in store and earn $30?

    • Yes. That is the easiest way, to just buy giftcards.

  • Will this work if I buy Aldi gift cards? There is going to be surcharge of 0.5%

    • +2

      You can buy 298

      • Aldi gift cards are available $50 and $100

      • But I can be over $300, just 10% will cap out at $30 right?

  • +1

Partner and I just did $1200 via Coles/Woolies and in 4 transactions and immediately got $120. $300 more to go for today.

It's shame that they sent us credit limit increase invitation in Oct, but we didn't bother so now repenting lol

Also missed to utilise this promo last Saturday so essentially lost opportunity to save $500.

    • Are you concerned they going to shut it down lol :)
      Don't worry same concerns .

    • so you can confirm you can tap and pay with zip at the same merchant on the same day and you'll get 10% cashback for each tap?

    • Nice! Did you do split payment $300 each time? Or scanned $300 gift card, checked out, repeat?

      • +1

Yes bought 3 X $300 Coles/Myer GCs from Coles and then 3 X $100 Him cards from Woolworths. You can put any amount on Coles so I did $300 to earn maximum $30 reward.

Each transaction at Coles was completed separately and 1 transaction at Woolies.

The girl at Coles was nice and she happily did splitting

        • Second Coles/Myer GCs, the best fee free card. If any GCs you need on sale in Coles this coming Wednesday, you can buy them straight away with 10% off, no need to wait till Saturday. Also available @ Myer, Coles Express, Kmart, Target, Liquorland, FCL, etc. whichever is close to you.

But it is not the case with Wish GCs.

          • @Neoika: So you can use Coles Myer gift card to pay for other gift cards at Coles?

            • @jackofspade: I think it is common sense here:). Coles/Myer GC > Coles eGC.

    • So was that two accounts, and at two vendors, so within the alleged $300 per vendor limit?

      • The limit is per transaction, not per vendor, AFAIK.

        • There were posts of new alleged updated terms, however not showing on website. Would be good to post here if anyone has successfully had reward added after spending more than $300 at a vendor today.

          • @chyawala: Read my post above

You need to split the transaction if you want to spent more than $300.

          • +1

@chyawala: It’s false, can confirm from multiple transactions today, It is per transaction, no vendor.

    • how did u work out $500 lost opportunity? when looks like you could only do $150 max cashback including your partner?

      • +1

I am taking they were offering $500 limit increase back in Oct to each of us. If that's the case (2 x $500 x 4 weeks) x 10% = $400.

Didn't use it last week ($1500)though I was aware of promo, but completely got occupied with something.

  • Can i do split payment pay utilities bill at Post office?

    • Yes

  • If anyone can get down to the PO and try the $294.05 + $5.95 fee for EPTOS card multiple times it would be most appreciated .

    • won't work as can't pay by credit

    • And these cards are terrible. Won’t work in lots of retailers as per the comments

    • your plan won't work. All Prepaid Mastercards at PO only accept EFTPOS (i.e Saving/Cheque) only as payment. You can't pay with credit card so ZipPay won't work.

      • I have seen Vairable load Perfect EFTPOS card @ some Woolies, maybe @ Coles, some petrol servos too.

But my 1st option is Coles/Myer GC if no other better GCs on sale.

      • +1

The gift card can be paid for with credit. The re-loadable ones can only use debit.

  • Do I have to be logged into the zip app for the bonus rewards? I got both my husband and mine zip card on my Apple Pay (he can’t be bothered with the promo), can I just tap both cards for us?

    • +1

No. Just make sure u selected the right card 😁

  • Thanks for the referrals peeps. Wisdomtooth got in first..

  • +1

Just got $300 iTunes at office works with big W Price beat for 242.25 and then less $24 odd - 10% with Zip which flowed through straightaway. Should have got $350 worth in hindsight

  • Just to clarify, the limit is 300/zip pay transaction to maximize the 10% return.
What is the limit for the day? Eg. Can I buy 3* lots @ 300 (270 actual spend) and still receive 3* 27 cash back?

    • Yes that's correct. The limit for the day is your available credit limit

      • Thanks I'm heading to Woolies

        • Lemme know if you are from Melb and find stock anywhere :'D

    • Where's that 1st $30 discount from?

      • +1

Gift cards on special @ 10% off at Woolies/big w.
the links are in the original post

        • They were from Wednesday, good luck finding them today

          • @[Deactivated]: Yeah I have been checking my local. I was lucky and found $860 worth of teens . 1x 50 and the rest in 30's. Will be checking another local store soon too.

        • bigw expired now I believe.

  • What's a solution for people without NFC? (e.g. Xiaomi)

    • Buy a phone with NFC perhaps.

    • Find a trusted friend with NFC perhaps and use their phone? Not sure if you can have multiple cards on one phone though.

      • I contacted support and they said it's possible to use one phone with NFC with different accounts. However you may not be able to use it simultaneously.

Also each account has to have unique mobile and email address.

  • A bit confused. So If you pay $301 in one transaction, do you still get $30 cashback or you get nothing back because you exceeded the limit of $30 cashback per transaction ?

    • $30

      • Thanks. Next question. :) Once you’ve accumulated $30 cashback do you have to redeem it (emptying your cashback basket) before you can accumulate the next $30 ? Thank you !

        • +1

You do not have to. I stacked up around $100 in rewards before I redeemed them. However you can still only redeem in $30 increments.

For example: if I had $96 in rewards, I can redeem $30 x 3 times and I will have $6 remaining in rewards.

If you redeem the rewards, it adds credit into your available spend, which means you can buy more stuff with that amount.

  • -3

I have only Coles credit card. As I understand it's not supported via gpay so any other alternative? Can we use debit card?

    • +2

Coles credit card is irrelevant to this deal, you need to pay with zip card on gpay.

Read the actual description of the deal.

      • Okay let me try
