    Go Costco!

  • Nice deal, but so you're aware this is last year's model (500). The current ones have 520 at the end.

  • AWWW YEAH COSTCO YEAH!

  • +1

Looks like Good Guys have the same TV for $1198 for all those without Costco in their state.

Might get away with just flat out offering them $1000 take it or leave it.

Thanks for letting us know OP!

    • BTW, it's just for walk in Customer.

sony plays mr. Scrooge this year, no tv + ps3 bundle :\

  • +1

This was available on Friday at DSE Pakenham (VIC) for $997. I believe it was part of their opening specials. Whether or not it is still available I am not sure.

  • +2

$996 at JB Hifi Macquarie, have to ask for the best price.

  • Don't we need some kind of special membership to buy from Costco?

    • +2

      Yes I think the membership is ~ 70 $ ,

The only plus point is if you buy a TV from them you get ongoing lifetime warranty as long as your membership is current.

      • +1

        ongoing lifetime warranty, please explain?

        • Don't die and your TV won't either.

  • +1

Do I have to buy one dozen to get this price ;)
    Yes, I am joking

  • How did 34 People vote Positive for this deal when so many here have reported seeing it for less ?

    • Question, where have you seen it for less? I'm looking for a new 55" LED LCD TV…

      • Its not LED

        • Mmm… you appear to be right (website was a little ambigious in the category naming). None the less, I'm still interested in the cheaper price.

      • I haven't yet, but many here have , read the reports above by many who have seen this for under 1000$,
I am also in the market for one under a 1000$

    • Wouldn't the lifetime warranty you mentioned above be worth a lot more than the $100 price difference?

Though you hav yet to explain this ongoing warranty to us if such things exist.

  • This is a good TV. Had it for > 12 months now.

    Taken from the Costco website:

    What is your refund policy?

On Membership: We will refund your membership fee in full at any time if you are dissatisfied.

On Merchandise: We guarantee your satisfaction on every product we sell, and will refund your purchase price.

I need to return an item. How can I do that?

Please return the item to the membership counter for a full refund. It is helpful if you have your receipt, but not necessary.

Is there a time limit on returns?

As long as you are a current Costco member, you can return an item for a refund at any item if you are not satisfied.

    • This sounds better than a warranty. Just simply say I don't like it.. it;s not displaying pictures… and you'll get a refund.. wish everyone offer this.

      • Just do this every 1 to 2 years and u can keep getting newer models

        • +1

Americans did this and Cosco changed its return policy in the US. If we abuse it they would change it here too.

    • This only applies for 90 days on certain electronic goods, which includes tvs.

      • Where did you find this out? I spoke with the staff at the refund counter here in Melbourne the other day and they didn't mention such a restriction and I did indicate an example using televisions. If this is the case it waters down their offering enormously from what their website says. Actually would make them a pretty average option as they don't offer any extended warranty options, not even dodgy policies like the usual retailers. Although I suppose even 90 days is much better than dodgy retailers like Harvey Norman who won't talk to you if something goes wrong in that timeframe. Anyway please confirm where you hear or read that?

  • This is pretty awesome.

  • Does Costco sell the 60" Samsungs yet?

    • not that I've seen in Melbourne, but they are crap screens anyway. Ghosting, judder etc…

  • If 3D is not important for you.here would be an optional choice.

as far as I know Hurstville still got one last weekend.

    • Are you sure? BingLee is selling them for $2000.

      • As I said, they are displays. And I went to hurstville one. The sales offered me 1200for it. But I didn't need a 55. Was looking for a 46 for bedroom. Went to monavale one this Monday. The manager told me in their system . It shows only a few store have displays left and in his system, the cheapest price they can go was below 1000. And as I remembered hurstville and chatswood were on the list for stock availability.
