Was looking at the Kogan $79 Series 5000 and came across this one. Not sure what the differences are between 5000 and 7000 series but it would most likely have a couple more features, better battery and better cleaning?

The Oral-B Smart 7 7000 white electric rechargeable toothbrush with Bluetooth is the world’s first of its kind with Bluetooth connectivity. The professionally inspired design of the CrossAction toothbrush head surrounds each tooth with bristles angled at 16 degrees, and 3D cleaning action oscillates, rotates, and pulsates to break up and remove up to 100% more plaque than a regular manual toothbrush.

Bluetooth communication allows the brush to connect with your Oral-B App to provide real time brushing guidance that can be adjusted by your dental professional.

The pressure sensor lights up if you brush too hard to prevent harmful over-brushing and there are 6 modes (Daily Clean, Gum Care, Sensitive, Whitening, Deep Clean, and Tongue Cleaner) and a timer to help you brush for a dentist-recommended 2 minutes.

Best of all, it’s brought to you by Oral-B – the #1 brand used by dentists worldwide. Compatible with the following replacement toothbrush heads: CrossAction, 3D White, Sensitive Clean, Precision Clean, FlossAction, TriZone and Gum Care.

  • Wow damn, just ordered this yesterday @ $89 using their $10 sign up voucher.

    • +1

It's still $89 with $10 voucher. But the extra $22 is the $10 bonus + cashback from Cash Rewards which doesn't come through for a couple months

  • Oh man I just got the 2000 Pro 2 series delivered for $49 and I thought that was a steal.

This is lithium powered for those wondering.

    • where from?

Like I literally just picked it up from the mailroom a few minutes ago and was all chuffed at my awesome bargain, to see this and wished I got it instead. From smiling about it to buyers remorse in a few minutes lol!

        • Sorry :( Is there free returns?

          • @reivaxX: I opened it and tried it out in those few minutes. I'm just going to have to deal with not having a bluetooth enabled toothbrush

            • +1

@studentl0an: I nearly negged this comment but I wanted to do fb messenger's cry react :'(

              • @reivaxX: I don't know how i'll live now haha. No but seriously the price difference is the point where I would have paid the extra for the gimmick I would never use, and the extra brush head would be nice too. Having used the one I just got, the power compared to my old one that was the same model without lithium or the pressure sensor is immense. I had no idea how much power was lost over time with those crappy batteries.

I'm really surprised that this deal isn't making it to the frontpage.

Could take this option, if you paid via Paypal could use it to pay for return, though guessing not based on the price you paid.
Probably not worth the effort just for BT though, I don't know how many people actually use the other modes…

Funny thing is they say "If you are not 100% satisfied, receive a full refund via cheque. No questions asked."
Then on the form ask "Why are you returning this product?" I'd be tempted to write "You said no questions asked"

                  • @bamzero: I won't be going through the trouble but thanks for the heads up, good to know that exists.

Like bargainparker said the timer, pressure sensor and lithium battery is all I need.

            • @studentl0an: Well, We have one with clock and timer. Much better than bluetooth where you have to clean your mobile to use it. I mean, are you going to use a mobile and then floss your teeth.

  • I did this earlier today and recieved an error after i was charged… still awaiting a response from customer service.

  • Can you stack the welcome code with Cashrewards?

    • I did and my cash back was tracked

  • I got the Pro 3000 a few weeks ago for $69 as was cheapest lithium model available locally.

Bit of a PITA because it only has one button, which is for both power and mode. Turning it off takes either 3 presses or a long press. Small thing but annoys me.

At $67 for this one, I would have packed up the 3000 and sent it back to Oral B under their 180 day guarantee but already chucked the packaging.

(BTW, title should probably read $79 as I don't think you're supposed to include cashback in the price)

    • Ahh that's annoying. They won't accept it back in some form of plain packaging or other cardboard boxes?

      Updated to $79 :)

      • +1

T&Cs say must be returned in original packaging… probably because they know most people wont hang on to it for 6 months.

        • :( that's annoying

        • I didn't see that- just returned mine (in the packaging tho)

As per price guarantee on the website: https://www.oralb.com.au/en-au/oral-health/electric-toothbru…
"Try Oral-B for 180 days, starting from the day of purchase. If you are not 100% satisfied, receive a full refund via cheque. No questions asked. For a full refund, please return your product along with your name, address, contact phone number, and the original purchase receipt indicating purchase price and date"

          • +1

@resisting the urge: A bit further down its says

"Your Oral-B toothbrush must be returned in its original packaging and be postmarked no later than 180 days after the date of purchase. Please allow 30 working days for handling. The shipment cost to return the product is the responsibility of the consumer."

            • +1

@bamzero: Yes I missed that. But Naaaah… its quite clear (and perfectly reasonable to assume) that everything after the NZ address is NZ specific, as I did.

If they try to pull a fast one on fine print when it would be deceptive use of fine print spread across two jurisdictions. Or something like that!

Thanks for letting me know though, glad I sent it as new in the box

  • Thanks!

    • Got mine today, it is the same body as the 4000, but the status LED goes all the way round the top, and provides more feedback. You can also re-program default settings using the two buttons (or the app)

In my mind all this just makes it even more silly to try to make a multi-mode model with a single button if zero cost features are lost.

As much as it is physically the same body, it actually feels more solid. Has a stronger action too, so maybe its the gearing (gearset), or the motor, or the mechanism, but there's a lot more than just a button and a couple of modes separating a 7000 from a 4000, maybe the 5000 too.

Defo the best brush I've had yet. Love the way you can turn the Bluetooth off if you don't use it (not sure if it saves power or not, but meh). I think they put it in them as some lawyer told them they might get into trouble with passengers brushing their teeth on airliners- resulting in unexpected radio interference. Imagine, navigation takes an airliner the wrong way after Hansi goes to clean his teeth in the bathroom!
