just a heads up to anyone buying this game , don't have great expectations. i have heard from diehard LOU Fans said they butchered the storyline in #2 and especially some of the characters.
I will be playing 1 and 2 for the first time myself in a few weeks time so i am going into it unbiased and i hope to enjoy the story/gameplay.
Haven't played 2 yet, i mainly play story based games and 1 is easily my fave game ever.😬 (dont repeat it in front of my zelda games please) , story has no equal and game play was brilliant… Enjoy 🙂
TLOU has an empasis on some really shit characters.
Basically, it does a really bad job of perspective from the opposing side.
I've read that the sequel has high production standards and looks and plays amazing, and the story isn't awful per se. It's just that the route it takes is, let's say, controversial, and has alienated a lot of fans of the first game.
Some defenders have dismissed the criticism, claiming that the complaints are about the LGBT themes in the game, or the body design of a main character, etc. I think that's a silly claim - for the most part, the reviews I've seen have offered far more nuanced explanations of why they believe the storyline was poorly chosen, even while highly praising the other aspects of the game.
For my part, I'd say that if you thought the first game ended in a satisfactory way and had no need for a follow up story, then don't buy the sequel and be happy with how things ended. If you want to know what happens next though - and recall the many, MANY distressing twists and turns of the first game - then this is definitely a great price for another round of the emotional rollercoaster!
TLOU 1 was my favourite game, having watched few reviews about the TLOU 2 I decided not to play this game, nit even if it is free.

Couldn't recommend this game enough. It has a 93 on metacritic and just won the golden joysticks game of the year which is fan voted. A absolute masterpiece of storytelling and a game which emotionally ruined me by the end. Don't let the vocal minority stop you from playing this game.
Reading a few of the comments here I get the impression it's another game potentially ruined (for some) by political correctness.
I wish they would leave current affairs and politics out of games.
The last thing I need when I play a game is to feel like there is an agenda behind the story or characters, which has nothing to do with the game.

But I'm learning to just live with it,
and ignore it, because I doubt things will get better, if anything I think things will just get worse as far as "unnecessary" political correctness in games is concerned.

Loved the first game. Disliked the first 60% of the 2nd game until I finished it and realised the story in it’s entirety. Absolutely an epic masterpiece and top 5 games I have played in 30yrs. Thought about the journey and ending for about 2 weeks after completing. Don’t listen to the haters and snap it up at this price
