  How good would this unit be as a 4G only modem?
  I need a new portable-ish 4G modem and was looking at the nighthawk as that seems to be the best but it's hell expensive.

    Works just fine as a 4G only unit, BennyT83. The basic setup wizard has a mobile broadband/4G only mode, works across all 4G bands in OZ and the supplied antenna's do a decent job. Keep in mind it's a CAT 4 device, so the maximum theoretical is 150Mpbs down on 4G, assuming you can get that out of the network. I've personally used it as a 4G only device while waiting for an NBN connection and often use it for customers in the same circumstance.

  What are the improvements compared to NF17ACV ?
