I got the Zeiss 55mm F1.8 from Camera House last night.
Was $1199, 20% off took it to $959, 10% Cashback from Shopback took it to $864 and then $100 Cashback from Sony will mean I pay around $764. Never seen it that cheap before!

Still think the A7III for less $$ is the better buy
if this had 4k @ 60fps I might be in.. otherwise I tend to agree with you. Especially since we have long term use reviews on the a7 iii.
I think the A7III is better value, especially with the the bigger EVF and more customisable buttons.
Purely on portability though, loosing the hump does make a difference and the flippy screen for those that are into that.
better af in video will be worth it for some too. But it isn't like the a7 iii is bad and still on the top of the heaps with a few others when it comes to af.
So the extra $$ saved can be put towards some really nice glass to make it shine.

In theory, wasn't the A7C meant to be cheaper than the A7iii anyways?
Saw some reviews where they said the A7iii is better, Viewfinder is better and positioned better as well, few other points that I can't totally remember.
Only benefits are form factor (but I prefer the bigger body of the a7 iii), articulating screen, and improved AF tracking features in video.
A better option for vloggers and travel. And I would say food photographers too, the articulating screen will help with any flat lays.
All these great FF camera deals which I can’t afford at the moment.. ;(

I've always hated the EVF bump on the Sony A7 series, glad that they removed it. would definitely grab it if i was in the market for another Sony FE but i switched to Nikon Z. No RAGRETS

Is that the same as the stock lens from the old alphas? (I have a 6000). Was considering this as an upgrade.
