Similar to some of the other comments, I’ve had questionable experience at two locations, both for tyres and battery. I try my hardest to stay away from KTAS / MyCar. The deal is good OP for those who can find the right tyres in stock. :)

  • +1

My experience with P-Zero’s is they’re grippy from 2000-8000km and weren’t road legal by 12000km. Compound probably too soft for day-to-day - as factory tyres on the Mustang.

Also, happy to have got rid of the Mustang 2 years ago…

    • Error, Duplicate.

    • What have you replaced the Mustang with, if you don't mind me asking?

      • +1

Went the completely opposite route and ended up getting a 1990 Toyota Corolla Seca SX, a 1998 Subaru Legacy 250T-B, and a 2000 Subaru Liberty Heritage wagon. Cheap nuggets I fixed up in my driveway for less than $5K total including purchase price for all 3). The simplicity of the engines and mechanicals mean I can self-service, repair and modify them as needed. Also prefer the comradery from other old-school JDM owners (as opposed to comradery from mid-40s and 50s Mustang owners or lack thereof).

Got sick of 17L/100KM fuel usage, the “look at me” feeling when pulling up at a set of traffic lights, parking further away to avoid door bangs, daily depreciation, and not being able to modify it the way I wanted. Will also never buy another American car again.

Those talking about bad service should state which locals they are…

can't find stock anywhere within a 200kms radius for any tyre that will fit my wheel..

    • Yeah either they are holding back to ensure stock (which legally they need to have for a sale), or there is sfa chance of getting a good deal. Jax are also out of stock of my size Pirelli tyres, so if there are supply issues advertising a 50% sale is asking for pissed off customers.

    • +2

      Hey there

I work for mycar, stock will be increased for Pirelli tyres for the sale on Friday and also make sure that you set the store on the website, as this will provide up to date stock for your location. Make sure that you get in early Friday as we are expecting lots of people will take up the offer.

      Cheers

I think the atr photos of the tread are incorrect and look more like the atr plus than the atr. which is misleading because the treads are completely different

the atr plus 265/75r16 price is steep compared to the other atr plus and competitors. mycar price for 265/70r16 is $279, 275/70r16 is $299 then the 265/75r16 is $359. every competitor is selling that tyre for well under $300 before stacking discounts, offers and a price match.

would you know if any mtr will be available?

        • Yeah, definitely the wrong photo for the Pirelli ATR. Theyve used the ATR plus photo which isn't included in the sale from what I saw. I'll give that a miss.

          • @Jarryd90: atr plus aren't on sale?

            • @stickymoo: Not in my size :(

              • @Jarryd90: just not in stock?

                • @stickymoo: Just don't have them from what I saw, unless I'm blind? Which could be. 285/75/16

                  • @Jarryd90: do atr plus come in 285/75/16?

The atr do. That's my dilemma. I like the look of the atr plus over the atr. But they don't come in 285/75/16.

The atr just look like an all season tread and reports suggest they aren't too good off-road.

                    • @stickymoo: Yeah, i just did another look, definitely no 285/75/16 in the at+. Unfortunate.

                      • @Jarryd90: what are you thinking?

                        • @stickymoo: If they had the at+ in stock I'd get that if they had it, couldn't go wrong at 50% off.
May as well put in the extra and get something you'd be happy with. I've always liked Maxxis tyres, I'd get the Maxxis Razr all terrains.

        • Thanks for the feedback @stickymoo, we have followed that up with the supplier.

  • +1

Spoke with one of the stores closest to me, they said no stock on all the Pirelli tyres that fit my car. Said best to check the stock again Friday midnight.

    • +10

      after the sale has finished?

      • Sorry if you're joking but midnight means 12:00am…

  • +2

There is very small profit margin in competitive tyre prices.

That's why buy 3 get the 4th free deals are often not that good as the prices revert to RRP to calculate the deal. Yes you save money but trust me you are not getting a $150 tyre for free like the campaign would suggest.

I'm guessing most will be disappointed on Friday with this tyre offer. Yes you will save some coin but not as much as you are likely expecting.

I'm happy to be proven wrong on Friday. Will wait and see.

    • Have found this too. All of the 'deals' like that have been more expensive than buying elsewhere at their normal price.

  • That's why buy 3 get the 4th free deals are often not that good as the prices revert to RRP to calculate the deal. Yes you save money but trust me you are not getting a $150 tyre for free like the campaign would suggest.

Bridgestone Turanza Serenity Plus are currently $160 without promo for my size. When they last had buy 3 get 4th free I was quoted $140 per tyre.

    • Odd. Typically it's the other way around which was my experience when helping my daughter get these exact tyres in 16" in October.

  • I'm looking at 4 PIRELLI SCORPION ALL TERRAIN PLUS 112T, with 50% of its a steal. Will get the alignment done elsewhere. I'm still waiting to see if my local has stock - says "limited" availability, guess Ill find out Friday when trying to book I guess??

  • +4

I've been told, after calling my local Mycar (Firle, Adelaide) is that they had a conference call about the Pirelli stock and the upcoming sale, and that they will be flooded with Pirelli tyres over the next couple days.

When you purchase on Friday, and it must be done online, you have three months to book in the tyre install. This should be ample time to get whatever stock is required for your car.

    Hope this helps anyone.

  • Can’t get the crappy site to work on my iPad. Won’t let me select the size or put in rego information.

    • Which browser? If safari then do not reply.

  • Anyone know the difference between a PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 (*) RFT 94W RFT and PIRELLI CINTURATO P7 (MOE)….both $279 a tyre.

MOExtended (MOE) stands for Mercedes Original Equipment Extended Mobility. This marking is carried by those tyres, which have been developed for Mercedes passenger vehicles to have limited runflat capabilities. Mercedes Benz vehicles equipped with MOE tyres MUST not be replaced with other tyre variants.

I see you are in Sydney. Have you tried Tempe Tyres ?

      • So what's (MO) and (AO) and (*) then?

        • +2

          MO - Mercedes Option
          AO - Audi Option
          * - BMW Option

          • +1

@mighty-atom: Are there any differences or is it just markings?

Edit: seems like homologation does have differences hmm

            • +1

@CVonC: Apparently tread pattern differ slightly, but it’s not a big deal

              • @mighty-atom: Yeah for my size the MO actually has a higher speed rating 92W versus the equivalent AO @ 92V 🤷🏻‍♂️

                • @CVonC: Would it matter? It's not like we're living in Germany and can drive that fast.

      • No I haven't tried Tempe.

    • Hey

If you need some advice on which tyres are better for you, you can contact our Call Centre on 13 13 28 and then purchase the tyres online on Friday.

      Cheers

    • I'm looking at PIRELLI P ZERO PZ4 tyres on a car with a staggered setup.

Apart from the markings, is there any reason why this won't work?

      Fronts (245/35R20): PIRELLI P ZERO PZ4 NEW S-I XL 95Y
Rears (275/30R20): PIRELLI P ZERO PZ4 NEW (AO) XL NCS 97Y

I don't know what the S-I XL and (AO) XL NCS markings mean.

  • PIRELLI SCORPION VERDE ALL SEASON 96V
    or
    Continental 96H UltraContact UC6

UC6 is just $30 more per tyre planning to get a set of 4 but hard to decide which set to get

    • This is a very good site. For Australia, look under summer tyres for most tyres. I guess the scorpion all season will be under all season reviews.

      https://www.tyrereviews.co.uk/

    • Continental.

      • +1

yeah went with continental at $135/tyre due to the fact that i keep reading that PIRELLI VERDE tyres don't last as long

  • Sent my company car for oil service and agreed price upfront. When picking up they replaced other parts and cost $1k more.
My boss refused to pay the extra not agreed.

    • Probably I will stay away from mycar.

  • i grabbed some screen shot for Price Jacking

  • via online chat that said they quoted my a price via my mobile number. Im to quote that when making my booking

  • combine with spend $500 get 10,000 flybuys :)

    • targeted?

      • unfortunately yes, not sure how they determine who gets it

      • +1

it is, what a pity that Amex spend 500 get 100 credit expired, otherwise this is a rip off bargain for new tyres lol

  • I bet RRP will become 300++ per piece.

    • Not according to the chat rep

  • Pirellu tyres - grippy but wear like crazy. Got 14k outta my set.

    • wow, that sucks, or did u do burn outs ;)?

    • Vx series 1 commy with dodgy IRS?

    • Which tyre model? And what car?

  • +2

It's half price but the base price is 140% of the price of the same tyre from other sellers e.g. tyroola. Not really saving much.

  • +2

These clowns asked my to change my wiper which was replaced a month earlier

  • Do the prices include fitting?

  • +1

Anyone know what the differences are between the OEM marked (HN - Hyundai, MO - Mercedes, AO - Audi ect.) tyres and the standard?
I'm looking to get a set of P Zero PZ4 but the only ones that are showing in stock are the (HN)'s which are apparently for the Hyundai N cars

    • I'm in the same boat. Would prefer non OEM versions.

  • I don't need new tyres for my ute yet, so is it worth getting some mud tyres as spares to keep in the shed for when I want them later? Does anyone know how much installation/balancing will cost down the road by itself?

    • +1

      avg $15-$25 a tyre.

  • I wonder if it will be possible to price match competitors prices tomorrow before the 50% offer is applied?

also I wonder if bobjane will price match this deal and pay 10% of the difference.

  • Can someone provide some experience/review on Pirelli Tyres?

How do they stack up to other brands such as Bridgestone, Goodyear etc?

Also I went on their website. Selected a discounted tyre but it was still around $100+. Are the RRP for Pirelli tyres really $200+? So much more expensive than the range I saw at Bridgestone and Goodyears! Are they premium tyres?

    • -3

Far out man the prices will come down tomorrow or midnight tonight.

    • Pirelli is premium

  • +2

Deal is now live - no price jacking from what I've had my eye on

  • Ditto. Deal is live, but can’t buy because the phone number is out of hours and live chat is empty. Going to try again during work hours.

  • Unable to book a date or timing :(

  • My car only has two tyres worn, the other two probably can last another year.

Is it wise to buy 4 tyres now, and keep 2 later when the other two worn out?

    • can't go wrong with pirelli at 50% off, especially with no price jacking either

    • Can you keep them without fitting when the deal says it has to be 'FITTED' before a certain date?

  • site worked fine for me. just reload the page, i had an issue with the date not loading, then refreshed and all good.

  • still no stock for 205/50R17 89Y Run flat (RFT) :(

    • I was able to buy tyres listed as availability limited over the phone that I couldn't buy online. Was on hold for over an hour though.

      • Wait they are accepting call at this time of the night ?On wainting now… hopefully you aren't trolling :)

      • Thanks. Finally managed to place an order after waiting for long time. They said I can pay on the day. I had already purchased 2 for the rear which I paid online, so the guy on the phone just editted my order and added 2 more for the front with different size.

Wierdly there is no order confirmation via email or text, which kinda leaves me worried in case the stock runs out or my order is not honoured for other reasons.

  • +3

    Website getting pummelled it seems

  • +1

Everything was going fabulous until it wouldn't let me pick a date

  • +1

At checkout but website is spinning at the select a date page

    • Trying to call now instead lol. The line is actually playing waiting music…

  • How long do I need to wait before I can select a date and finalise it?

    • it should of come up straight away

      • +2

Just keeps spinning for the past 5 mins at the date selection :(

  • Anyone been able to buy any P Zero tyres?

    • Trying to buy the same but still stuck at the date selection

      • Mine says limited stock and I have to call them

  • Still no stock for rft tyres :(

    • Same here mate.

  • Comeon Pirelli F5 Reload XL (NFR)!

  • +4

I get to the date selection but every single date is greyed out? Even into December 2021
